v Sheffield Wednesday (a) - 10/12/2024

Recommended Posts

Wednesday away, on a Tuesday! (It'll be Wednesday when I'm watching it)

Can we continue the great run of form and extend the winning streak to five, or will we revert to type and throw in the towel for yet another midweek away game?

The team picks it self to be honest currently. Travis back in for Baker being the only the change.

Dolan and Hedges deserved to be in the starting 11

Agree with that, unless Pickering is fit to return for Hedges. Do we know why he missed out yesterday?

A slight injury apparently.

If he is back I would probably push Beck further forward and give ACD a start on the other side. Its an area of the side that could do with a change. Travis in for Baker who wasnt as effective but still filled in and was solid.

Slight injury so I would leave Pickering for Saturday against Luton instead

why does the right wing need a change given we have just won 4 games back to back?

Why wasn't Baker effective Yesterday given he was playing next to Tronstad and being solid and defensive minded? what should he been doing instead?

Got bullied on both games last year and they're a lot better this time around. Sadly I think our winning streak comes to and end on this one, I'd take a draw now.

A win would be an incredible statement...I take a strong dislike to Wednesday, from their manager to their players. The same goes for Coventry...Not sure why.

Looked a pretty poor side for long periods of their game yesterday. PNE bossed most of it… but Tuesday night away after a tough game a few days before? We know the script, but Eustace has instilled a discipline and desire we’ve not seen under many managers here since this lot darkened our doors, so who knows.

The Owls had a hard game against the Nobbers yesterday too, so I'm not too fussed about the short gap between games. It is a big pitch at Hillsborough, and there will be ample room for players going forward and pressing the opposition on both sides. I'd be more confident if our strikers were finding the net than I am with goals coming from elsewhere in the team. We do look vulnerable at times at the back, which someone is going to exploit at some point, but then again we also look quite threatening when moving the ball forward.. Time for someone with the quality of Cantwell to tee up a few sitters for Yuki, so he can get his confidence back (he's going all Ciccio Grabbi at the moment in my view) and once he does, I'm sure he will go on to have a great season.

Hoping for: Owls 0 Rovers 2

Hillsborough Hoodoo: Yarkshire 1 Lancashire firing blanks

Hooray for Tuesday: Hooters 0 Rampant Roverites 3

COYB!

It’s obviously always a short gap for both teams on an away Tuesday, we however have made a dogs dinner of what feels like the vast majority of them since 2012 regardless of opposition and their tiredness/form.

If JE can sort that out then maybe we could do something this season…

Do you ever just agree with a ‘99 opinion? (I imagine if you do you keep it yourself, need to keep up appearances! 😅)

I have agree with some points RF99 makes and respectively disagree with others. Just like many posters including yourself. We all want the best for Rovers this season and this site is great for discussing and debating our thoughts on Rovers and football subjects

I will be absolutely agog if we win this one on a Tuesday night.

Surely end of the run? Sort of game normally an a nailed on loss (mid week, winter, away, won a few on the spin).

But.... We've looked so consistently good defensively it makes you think maybe we could get a result?

I didnt say Baker wasnt effective. I said he was solid but just not as effective as Travis. He would certainly be 3rd choice there.

And because we can still improve, we are winning despite offering minimal attacking threat so I would like to give ACD a go.

He isn't a Travis type player but of course the Travis Tronstad partnership is first choice cos it give us that solid base and

We are on the Kop in the home end for this one, don’t ask……

Rovers on a good run, Wednesday inconsistent, reminds me of last season when we arrived at Hillsborough in good form and got turned over by an awful Wednesday side 3-1…..

Rovers win 🤞please.
