This isn’t to contest the wider point but our averages have often been helped by giving up the whole Darwen End to the bigger clubs. It’s actually interesting to see how often our attendances dipped below 20k between 04-08 despite how well we were doing. Obviously we were getting much bigger crowds than now either way.

Looks like we’ve already sold almost half the available tickets in the upper tier so can see them opening the other half soon. This will likely be the first time since Oxford that we’ve had 20k home fans in the ground.

I sincerely hope that the Club won't be allowing them to bring in various flags and banners and display them over the netting right in camera shot behind the goals.

We get nothing, absolutely nothing, when we go to their place. A couple of thousand allocation, horrendous facilities, 1 toilet, a hatch in the wall and a gazebo for pre-match and that's the lot. No corporate, hospitality, flags, anything.

Well as @Mattyblue pointed out, this is yet another venkys myth that has been resoundingly smashed to pieces.

Turns out we actually do have a large fanbase that is keen to get down to Ewood.

Perhaps if there was some imaginative and enticing season ticket prices then we'd probably sell more than 9000. I still maintain that if you can't shift at least 12000 then it can only be deemed a colossal failure.

Alas it's the same old story of deliberately running the club into the ground that has been going on for over fourteen years and the game after the dingles will likely see the piss poor 14000 in attendance.

Touches a nerve with me when I hear a Rovers' past ST holder moves on to say a top 6 premiership ST holder. Personally I can't get my head round that as you can change some things in life but you can never change your club. 

Nevertheless, any past Rovers fan, ST holder or not, cannot fail to see Rovers success over last few months and the opportunity to get one back against dingles is on. Just hope that fans don't mix with these extra tickets.

I think it is equally if not more odd when former Rovers season ticket holders start going watching Accy Stanley. I know of a few in this bracket. Season ticket holders during the Premier League days but these days spend their Saturdays at the Crown Ground.

Now I know it is everyone's own choice what they do and I know Stanley offer a cheaper and easier day out but I still find it difficult to get my head around.

I sort of understand it in a way. I have a second team. My local Rugby League team  i could have gone watching Wigan or St Helens but I chose a struggling team. The atmosphere is totally different. It’s really friendly, the players aren’t great “ I am’s “ , they stop and chat with you. You can buy them a pint. Everybody is in the bar after the game mixing together. That’s the upside of supporting a small club. The down side is you’re always struggling.

I can’t understand swapping football teams though. That’s a no-no.

On that, they're always struggling remark, it makes the wins sweeter and more to celebrate there's a lot more community in small clubs/teams as you say you can mix and everyone seems to know each other

I know folk that will watch Stanley when Rovers aren’t playing, fair enough, but folk that went to Ewood for years and now pretend they weren’t ever a Rovers fan and are at Accy every week. Weird.

Success on the pitch has played a massive part, plus when the game and a team they are enjoying watching
