I'm not 100 % sure but i think the bottom of end block of the riverside has been close since the game where dunny scored the injury time equaliser

Was total (pretend plastic hooligan type) chaos when he did and after the game so at a guess that's why they've been unavailable for sale since?

Come on, it was hardly mass disorder. People gathered telling them to fuck off and wreck their town etc with about 80 police in the middle. That was at the front of the stand anyway, all those people weren't sat in the end block. I'd say Ewood is one of the most secure grounds I've ever been to in terms of segregation with the massive gates up surrounding all sides, nothing would ever happen. Oh I tell a lie, i think a toothless dingle who was holding up an EDL flag whizzed a bottle of Fanta.

Turf moor on the other hand, it threatened to kick off big time one season when the flimsy door separating us got booted through and a couple of young Asian stewards were the only ones there initially .

No it wasn't mass disorder hence me saying plastic hooligan type

But it was enough to rattle the police and it also got mentioned on skysports news as it went back to the ground after the game had finished to report it...i know this as i don't live in blackburn anymore and someone from work told me.....so it maybe be the reason for them being closed off

Yeah but even so, it was within the large gap at the front of the riverside, nothing to do with that block being populated with fans. Police just 'encouraged' fans to move along and the crowd dispersed. In short, there's absolutely no extra 'risk' from opening the end block.

I can't call it anything else, doesn't feel right.

Walkersteel from as far back as I can remember and anything referencing the big man will do for me.

Anything other than Walkersteel feels wrong to me, whatever they go on to rename it as.

The Riverside ?

With a big crowd, hopefully they don’t go and screw the matchday experience up with the extra ticket checks 🙈

When someone on here posted a ticket that erroneously said unreserved seating you have to wonder how much potential there is for things to go tits up 🤣

To be fair Andy must have only just missed the new stand being renamed from the Riverside initially. 1990/91 when the shoddy thing opened as the Wakersteel (crazily only three years older than the new Darwen End).

Allegedly Jack was fairly annoyed that such a ramshackle thing was erected after he donated the steel for free.

Of course they will be ticket checks. They are still checking now

When we are desperately trying to encourage folk back to Ewood on a regular basis, the last thing we want is thousands outside at kick off as they do ‘extra’ ticket checks.

Jesus get the place full, maybe it's too late with policing if it's already submitted the max attendance and if they have allocated the police based on that but if not get the place full, open the upper DE tier to either rovers or dingles and get the place full to the brim. Going to be electric and having 4500 empty seats because they don't treat us the best when we go to their dump shouldn't be reason enough, they have petty small club mentality.

Make it the spectacle it deserves to be, full house, hostile derby in all it's glory. Not shitty politics and corporate bs.

well firstly, people should buy the correct ticket first time,

secondly, its a few seconds to check them

thirdly, get there early to avoid the possible queues

Well the club have now taken to social media to announce a 'sell out' of Ewood Park so I suspect it is highly unlikely that they'll release any more tickets, even though we all know they could release another 300+ simply by removing pointless netting.

Too much hassle I guess.

I'll be kind to them here and accept that rejigging things a week before the game to be able to use the remaining 3-4000 seats in the Darwen End is going to be difficult. Maybe they could have done this from the start and divided the Darwen End between home and away fans but it seems their expectations for this one were considerably short of a full house.

Still it annoys me no end that we have a 31000 seat modern stadium and yet will be claiming a sell out over 4000 short of that.

Is there another ground in England/anywhere that claims a sell out whilst leaving 14% of its capacity empty?

Its bonkers and unique to Ewood but they seem to like being unique.

did anyone expect more than 20k Rovers fans on for the game when sales when on sale? early kick off, just after Christmas and on TV.

Rovers fans who are walk ons for a few games have been great all season and its good to see

Secondly, I wouldn't have give them all the Bottom tier either. I would have given them 2k then you have had split the bottom half of that stand
