When the new Darwen End first opened, I was sat in the half near the old Nuttall Street Stand with 2,500 Rovers fans. The upper tier wasn't open because it wasn't finished and there was no roof on. The 2,500 seats near the Riverside were full of Man Utd fans. There were no empty seats and no netting. There was no trouble. The lower tier and upper tier concourses can be divided by steel gates. Burnley have home and away fans in the Cricket Field Stand every game. The lack of flexibility and ambition of the hierarchy at Ewood under Venkys is pathetic.

And when we were in the Premiership, the DE Lower was allocated to Rovers fans and the Upper to Away fans.

No trouble that I saw.

A sensible club would say this today;

”After discussions with the Safety Advisory Group we have now secured a further and *final* release of seats in the Jack Walker Lower and Riverside. On sale now, don’t miss out!”

Face saved and as many Rovers fans as possible now get to see the game… of course the likes of Swag and Sufi aren’t interested.

But the real win is that we’ve sold a ‘1,000 hospitality places’ as Sufi keeps tweeting… a load of them are to Dingles, but hey ho, think of the strutting him and Swag can do through the lounges in their club ties, never mind the 500 seats you won’t sell to your own fans.

Of course, but no chance that will happen at this stage, they’ll hide behind ‘safety’ and ‘logistics’, however the JWL and Riverside they have absolutely no excuses for.

Let’s hope for some pragmatism and common sense breaking from Ewood this morning. Get the remaining JWL / Riverside seats on sale.

With my long time access to Steve W. if i had not been so stupid but to fly to Indonesia with dodgy wi-fi, I would be asking a number of questions:

-whilst supporting a lower allocation to Bunleh, why does this affect the Riverside and JW Lower(locate the 4000 bums away from the wings)

-get a bloody big banner for the Darwen End Upper about the 150th Anniversary, saying THE WORLDS MOST SUCCESSFUL TOWN TEAM

-have they learnt lessons from the Oxford game  -, what incentives do they give BBE Upper fans to come again eg re-open it as the 150 year anniversary stand.

- get a data base analyst now you have another 10,000 fans on the data-base(9k plus 8k plus 10k) to increase longer term sales

- to continue to attract more Riversiders back, announce £20 per match til the end of the Season

-  appeal to Blackburn Companies nearish to the Ground to re-open their Car Parks for matchdays

In a nutshell, try to re-connect with the wider fanbase and prove we are an ambitious Club again - cos we certainly have not been for the last 14 years. COYB but why is my Season-ticket seat in the Riverside empty!!

Nah fuck that. It's way easier for them to do fuck all and come up with bullshit excuses for why things can't be done.

Don't recall the Manu game but Leeds I do. The game finished and Rovers fans were told to allow Leeds fans to leave first with many cutting across seats still occupied by home supporters. Foolish decision that lacked proper guidance.

No excuse for not allowing more home seats in Riverside for dingles game. Also cricket field end mention by many also  miss the point that its so bad in many ways how on earth do authorities allow it to be opened in first place!

Pretty much every big derby had a shared stand with just a few limes of stewards/coppers separating.

Not here though, obviously. Surprised they’ve not put barbed wire/police watch towers up 1970s Belfast style between the three stands.

Come on now gents, let’s stop the moaning and groaning and channel some positive energy at a massive turnout of Rovers fans, a turnout not seen in years down at Ewood.

This turnout, along with the thousands that went to Sheff Utd in the cup, proves the fan base is strong and with the right owners in place we can go places.

Virtually none of those derbies had years of away fans having to travel on dedicated transport.

Swansea/Cardiff still do… line of stewards.

Burnley/Blackburn Rovers at Turf Moor… line of stewards.

To be honest, i don't think we'd sell many more in that end anyway, the Blackburn end has only just sold out. Then there would be the extra stewarding /segregation outside which currently isn't a problem.

We've well surpassed the home figure I  was expecting, I haven't really lost any sleep over another 300.

I know we could always do better, no matter what it is, but the "face saving" comments regarding the netting are a bit ott, in my opinion.

If looks like I’m talking to myself earlier up the thread. Why have MCM’s posts been removed?

With a week to go we’d sell a good number more, especially if we win today. Get the netting removed and let’s sell that extra 600, the more Blues in the ground the better. No brainer.

Here’s hoping they have their business hat on and open up the netted off areas, they will sell no problem. I’ll be one of them with my lads as well. Own fault for leaving it late, wallet got hit this month but wish I would have just said sod it. Either way really looking forward to this one, think we win it if Travis wasn’t injured. Still expecting a solid team performance, one thing that Eustace has installed in the team.
