These are the games which suit Eustace. That’s what gives me confidence going into them. It was the same before the Leeds game

There will be times today when will be uncomfortable watching. I suspect we will see out the first 15 by being hard to break down. Eustace’s system works best with a frustrated opponent. Them having not scored in 2 games could bring that frustration about earlier than usual

We tend to start quickly at home, I’m hoping we get right into them early on.

That's why I don't think I'd start with him, it's a long haul from the first half to the whistle on 10 men. Leonard to start then bring on Papi

Not for me. Leonard is nowhere near ready for a game of this magnitude. If we were playing anybody else I’d say “ Yes, let’s see what the lad can do “. This game is just too big.

Anyone starting Leonard in this game is mental in my eyes.

Like the kid but he's not ready as you said.

Thing is.  If we start Gueye, he's never  performed over 90 mins and has been far more effective as a sub.  He'll be out of gas after an hour and subbed so if we need a late goal, there's nobody that can come in with his dynamic...or defend set pieces etc if we are hanging on.   For me, he is far more effective in that last half hour.

That only leaves Weimann or Leonard.  I don't think Weimann has the legs to play up front on his own.  Leonard will at least run and may poach  something.  They are both slim pickings.

The wild card may be Dolan up on his own, with Hedges, JRC (or Weimann)  and Cantwell in behind.

I hope Eustace has taken Gueye to one side this morning. We don’t need any more red cards.

What's he meant to say to him?

"Look, hopefully we don't get another incompetent ref who let's everything but an obscure, UK only, rule go. So watch out, Makhtar".

"Don't wave any imaginary cards at the ref, or you'll get booked" 🤷‍♂️

Or don't make a card gesture again...

But do get thrown to the ground clean through on goal and see the defender go unpunished...

Dolan up front on his own just feels like one of the JDT games against them where we piss about with what has been working. But I fully understand what you are saying.

Id be sticking to what system has served us so well this season, and if that needs to be Big Mac up top so be it. Ohashi getting kicked off the pitch at Leeds has really hurt us here.

I actually think that you're in the pub more than I am, & (for those who know me) that's going some! Much respect (apart from the tea bit - kindly don't use that kind of language on these message boards  this is a respectable place!🤣)

Jesus Christ! I'm wound up like a spring for this, God knows what I'd be like if I was actually going to the game?

I try and get to the pub when there's a Y in the day of the week.

We'll be setting off in 10, only live up JWW - not been as excited for a game in a long time.

Today is the day, boys and girls.

I don't advocate gambling, but I've popped a fiver on Cantwell to score and then Beck, JRC and Barnes to be booked (£400 back).

See you down there...

Let’s hope he’s learnt from that incident. Their guy would have been on a card and walking the tightrope if Gueye would have just  picked himself up and walked away.

All things considered that's probably our best 11 on the day. Just a real shame we're missing Travis and Ohashi who have both been full of energy this season, and I'd feel a lot more comfortable if Beck and Pickering had been the left side. Ah well, let's see.

Big responsibility on Dolan and ACD to get back and help the full backs here. At least it looks like it might have potential for a goal with those two in. Surprised he’s not gone safe with Hedges.

Not sure I would have gone with ACD over Hedges in this one - but then again I always question what Hedges brings in an attacking sense.

Police en masse around St Bede’s using the top car park as a base - hope it goes without incident and we get those 3 points
