Don't know how anyone can be proud of that performance? Very little to get excited about and never looked like scoring. We don't have the quality so that's the best way to approach the games. It's mighty frustrating when we lose but we deserved a point here tbf. Tronstad motm. Gueye has to stop giving away cheap fouls close to our own box. No need for it. Must be frustrating being Eustace knowing what he can do with a little more backing in the transfer market.

The fact that team, managed by Scott Parker, is 2nd with only 9 goals conceded says a lot about this league though, and leaves me hopeful that starting from Portsmouth at Ewood we can get back on track. Absolutely nothing to fear from 90% of the teams in this division, even with the albatross that is Venky's constantly weighing us down.
Roverthechimp
When you are resorting to Harry Leonard and John Buckley to transform a game against your historical rivals who are known for being strong and physical then the head coach must be almost as pissed off as we are…

Think he passes it backwards a lot of the time when he should take control of the ball and move forward. Also a lot of fancy high-risk passes that don't come off. And hardly any goals or assists but we are so slow it's really difficult when we never dictate matches.
DackDackGoose
Unpopular opinion, would've brought buckley for baker sooner. So many oppotunities to break forward/ play final pass and they completely miscue it. Brittain our best player, CBs did well. Sign a top striker and they won't even touch the ball, needs to come with a good winger or two..

After the first 15 mins we didnt trouble them but they created very little themselves. Really disappointed by Cantwell. We got into some good positions but he was very wasteful. I get that its risk vs reward but other flair players we have signed (Dack, Marshall, Holtby etc) just havent been as wasteful as he has been. He was really poor. Thought we should have hooked him before Gueye or ACD... He’s nowhere near the quality of Dack.
Backroom DE. Posted January 4 Backroom Share Posted January 4 3 minutes ago, Blow-in said: I think they beat us without getting out of second gear. We are well organised and pretty hard to beat but the players cannot string 3 passes together. Cantwell looks like he is carrying an injury and is only on because noone else can create. We need a striker but Alan Shearer wouldnt have done much today there is no service what-so-ever. I think playoffs are gone and I'll be amazed if we spend a million in January. I am loggin off now before I have to read anything from Chaddy. That's pretty much just how they play normally. They're basically a £150m version of us - as their paucity of goals shows. They've only scored 3 more than us, lol. They just have a much more expensive and overall better defence and midfield to keep goals out and come out more often on the right side of tight games.

Plenty of passengers across the team. Fuck all “arte” and very little “labore”. Sure all the walk ons will be racing for more tickets Glad you pointed this out, we were second to everything today and at least a yard behind their lot all over the pitch. When they had the ball they found space and moved forward, when we got it we found no space, were laboured and went backwards. It was a poor poor performance and, for me, we lost to the team that wanted it more and that's unacceptable. And that 'cameo' from John Buckley at the end? Jesus wept.
Displaced Rover
Cantwell was utterly woeful. No idea how stayed on for 90 mins - probably illustrative of total lack of depth. Can see why he fallen apart at every club he’s ever been. Edited January 4 by Displaced Rover
MB Rover
Their midfield won’t have an easier afternoon, soft as shit. Tear Buckley’s contract up now, the worst player to ever wear our armband.

miqaayil
i feel cantwell is becoming a liability rather than a creator .....gueye simply has no service ... and why pears never comes for crosses ...he could have cut the goal out ... hope recruiting get some bodies in and not wait for fax machine failure
Bohinen1983
No pace, No bite. It's all good inviting pressure- and largely with standing it, but you need to be able to counterattack.. Cantwell looks like he's running in a swap, painfully slow. Baker, poor today, albeit against a good opposition. Trondstadt good as ever. I think you needed a JRC in there to add some nastiness and bite.. Travis and Carter would have made such a difference. Can't say I'm surprised, the squad's crying out for investment, as it has been for a while- spend or fuck off Venkys!

Yes, given his pedigree I thought we were signing someone at Brads level but Cantwell doesn't seem to be able to impact games really. Shows some nice touches etc (but recently just as many dreadful ones) but in half a season now there are very few truly impactful moments from Todd.

SpaceBarSlam
Well, bearing in mind that it's been a relentless festive season of fixtures, I thought we matched them very well even with our injury woes. It's that cutting edge though, isn't it? And I just don't see where the money is coming from to find the goals that would push this team up a gear. Ahh, to have Szmodics under this manager in this team. Edited January 4 by SpaceBarSlam

booth
They had 4 shots scored 1, we had 11 shots scored 0. There's plenty of people saying even if we had a striker there's no service but we had chances to get it in the net. This is what happens when you have disinterested miserly owners and a CEO who is winging it.
