Eustace has improved lots of things around the team but the passing is still poor. We give the ball away way too often. You can’t do that in modern football. It’s the un forced errors that kill you.

I agree

Also the players are at fault.

They just aren't good enough quality so lose the ball, miss the pass. He can only coach the tactics but they have to perform and they tried but not good good enough unfortunately

As with the first goal against Sunderland absolutely appalling from Tronstad for their goal. Gave the ball away to initiate the move then when the cross came in didn't realise the guy who scored was coming in behind him.

Pretty even game overall, must have been a dire spectacle for the neutral, overall we weren't quite good enough.

Two points from five games, no wins since Travis has been out, heaven knows where we'll end up without reinforcements.

Edit: Cantwell offers nothing for me - all fur coat and no knickers.

I was expecting the new Berkovic or Bohinen, Somebody to play the killer pass or make that killer little 20 or 30 yard run to open up our opponents defence. Somebody who demands the ball off the defence instead of somebody quietly hanging around waiting for the ball. It hasn’t happened yet.

Yet more effective than others, we see what we want to see at times

He loves a little pirouette on the ball to slow down our counter attack when an easy pass forward is on does Dolan.

I'd be sitting him down tomorrow and offering an extended contract on squad player wages. I'd give him a week to sign it. If he says no I'd shift him on before the end of January.

He tries hard, but ultimately he produces very little.

Poor game overall lacking in quality.

It is stating the obvious, but we need a striker and fast, but I can't see us getting one.

Atkins on BBC Radio Lancs was talking about how the three paid to score goals aren't good enough (Gueye, Ohashi and Leonard).

I'm not ready to write any of them off until they get some actual service. Hedges, ACD, Dolan and Weimann as wide options is piss poor.

If we could get a replacement loan in I'd send ACD back after his last two performances. I think he'd be a good player at this level for a team that's always on top (think Kompany's Burnley team) - in and around the box he's quite dangerous because he can shift it and shoot (similar to Markanday). What he can't do is run at and beyond players - he's about as quick as Dolan.

For a team that plays 90% of the time on the counter he's useless. We need fast wide players that can stretch the opposition and run beyond them.

He's getting dragged into the same nonsense a lot of the better #10s do on poor teams - he's dropping far too deep for the ball. I don't need my #10 acting as a pivot for the two CBs.

Dack and Szmodics both used to do it. Dack took himself out of the game (like Cantwell does), Szmodics was fast enough to catch up to the attack.

It’s that sort of decision making that does my head in. Along with the over ambitious pass down field when the obvious pass is shorter and out wide. Plus the passes that go behind players so they have stop and lose all forward momentum.  I can’t believe Eustace doesn’t sit them down on a Monday morning and play the games back incident by incident. “ Right, you lost the ball/gave the ball away there, where should you have passed it to ? “

Players gave it their all but they're not good enough if we're honest. Burnley didn't even break sweat and won't have an easier afternoon all season.

Another reminder of what a top manager Eustace is getting this poor squad around the top 6.

The ref allowed them to break up play at will - any time we turned a man or looked to break they just pulled / pushed / hacked someone down and reset their defence.

Cullen, Browhill, #29, #7 and Roberts should all have been carded early in the first half to put a stop to it.

Rovers, you can raise me through the Clouds, you can like today put me through the floor.

We had nothing in attack and it cost us the game.Huge Sigh.

Gueye..I have seen enough.

Totally agree.

Gueye is not at this level. Is it 1 goal in 18 games?? Eustace knew and took him off.

I'm gutted we switched off for their goal but in truth we never looked like scoring.

Whoever plays right up front at the moment are on a hiding to nothing. How many chance do we make for the strikers ? 1 or 2 a game at the most. If you want strikers that make their own goals, they cost serious money not magic beans.

Unpopular opinion, would've brought buckley for baker sooner. So many oppotunities to break forward/ play final pass and they completely miscue it.

Brittain our best player, CBs did well. Sign a top striker and they won't even touch the ball, needs to come with a good winger or two..

Popular opinion - I'd shift Buckley on this window. He's simply not good enough.

Burnley aren't a great side, this is a poor performance. Created very little. Two sides that have spent 90 minutes trying to not concede and we failed.

At least our excuse is we're £40m in the black in transfer fees the last 24 months. They must be at least £150m in the red, so what's their excuse?

The game paled into insignificance when I found out Lisa formerly on the Disabled Supporters Committee had passed away age 42.

Must have had an incredibly difficult life but always incredibly cheerful and always ready to try and drink the next person under the table if required.

If you think you have problems - you probably haven't in the general scheme of things.

RIP Lisa.

Hi mate I went to school with Lisa Farrell in my year and in a few of my classes. Always a happy soul occasionally bumping into my desk and we'd  be laughing with each other often.

Rest in peace Lisa (Fazzer) x

Very well said Simon. A nicer person you couldn't wish to meet and Rovers through and through.

I was saying to my dad on the walk back - the only type of striker that would help us (without reinforcements out wide) is the type that can create chances for themselves i.e. someone that can run beyond the defence and get onto a long ball / clearance. Our only chance at one of those is if Chelsea have some 20 year old wonderkid who's not quite ready for the first team yet.

I agree. Would rather have Markanday back who's a similar type of player and bring in someone else on loan.

You don’t need an excuse when you are winning and top 2 sadly

They aren’t a patch on their last promotion team but they’ll get there most likely 😞

Not read back 51 pages, but my main thoughts.

1) Lost a 0-0 game 0-1, again. Feels like Burnley (at Ewood) is that exact game every time now. They manage to bundle a win out of the jaws of drawing.

2) The referee completely bottled a clear as they come 2nd yellow for Laurent, and in all truth the official bottled the entire 2nd half (including the time wasting)... though Rovers were never scoring, not even in 10 minutes of added time.

3) Shout out to the 10,000-12,000 or so additional Rovers supporters today, great atmosphere and support - what a difference it makes 🔵️. Guess we'll see you all in 2 years time for the next Burnley match.

I didn't think Baker was bad today for a loan player he certainly bought into the importance of the fixture and was fully invested. Overall I'd say he's as good as you're likely to get as back up.

Really nasty challenge by him on 5 mins though which should have seen red, he fouled the Burnley player then as the opponent was on the way down he did him on the back of the achilles. Don't like to see that, notwithstanding it was a Burnley player he could have caused very serious injuries.

Elsewhere there were any number of petulant, niggly fouls by players on both sides and I thought the ref did very well to keep 22 players on the pitch.
