Well that keeps up my 100 per cent record ……. Still yet to see Rovers win this season

Some thoughts

Hate to say it but Burnley were a class above, a standard of player in a different league to ours. They’ve spent money - and it showed

Rovers need a revamp, 3 or 4 new players, ones who can create and score goals. As it stands we will be lucky to finish in mid table

The Burnley goal and Rovers’ only chance in the first half came from beautiful lcrosses delivered at pace behind defenders, traditional and effective wing  play. So much for inverted wingers

I did politely ask you to stay at home, Jim 🤷‍♂️

ACD didn't have a great game apart from one brilliant cross  but the goal was nothing whatsoever to do with him.

After he lost possession Tronstad picked up the ball but made a poor clearance straight  to Cullen. The ball was then recycled out to their left via a miscued header from Hyam.

The ball came back in and Tronstad not for the first time recently was caught ball watching on the edge of his own area allowing his opponent to come in behind him and score unopposed.

Nothing to do with ACD. Did he have a good enough game though? No.

As soon as he lost the ball we were in trouble, whatever happened later happened, but it stemmed from his poor play.

If he doesn't lose the ball, they don't score.

Suspect ACD is more comfortable on the right as a left footed right winger. Like Nwaneri and Saka.

We are light on numbers and quality in attack though and are having to pick between a fairly bad bunch. Dolan ran his socks off but just doesn't have it... I still expect his career to go downhill if he doesn't sign a new deal with us.

Still think ACD will do well on the right against weaker defences but struggled physically today.

We need a CM that can open the game up and score. We need a left winger with pace (I'd take a new right winger too) and we need a better striker. CB cover would be a bonus. We also should have spent money on left back cover by now. We're stretched after just a few injuries and are being left short by the owners as usual. The squad has been padded out by a couple of aging free transfers and youth players that aren't quite up to it...

It is all on the owners and the lack of proper money being spent. Plenty pocketed though.

Was it a total of around £2m spent in transfer fees in the summer? Pathetic.

The squad has been massively underinvested in.  We've lost lots of quality players and never replaced them..

Wharton 20m
Szmodics 9m

Arma 15m?

The squad is well organised and spirited but lacks quality- which is little surprise.   I was convinced we'd be bottom three this season. I'm not sure if our current position makes Eustace a genius or the league awful but I'll take it.

Lets be objective and pragmatic. Teams generally do well, win things,  because they spend/reinvest money they receive into improving the playing staff..  Our purchases, to me, don't scream out 'We're having a tilt at going up' they're bargain bucket signings you hope are going to be brilliant.

We remain a prestigious, well decorated club, but until we have a change of attitude at the very top- not just promotion but stabilizing as a Premier League team we can't expect anything.

The club's in a malaise. This squad, in my opinion is a bottom half side AT BEST, in my humble opinion.   Add some pace, a Keiffer Moore upfront and we could benefit from our organisation and ability to grind teams down. Ain't happening though is it.

Fair play to Burnley, snatched it- we should have won at their place, is what it is I suppose. Football's a funny old game.

If Tronstad doesn't give the ball away initially they don't score.

If Hyam gets a clean header on the ball they don't score.

If Tronstad remains alert when the ball comes back in they probably don't score.

You can't pin that on ACD at all. Well you can but it's completely unfair.

Did I really hear the stadium announcer saying "have a good afternoon"  after the game in a really enthusiastic voice as thousands trudged out completely pissed off?

Also imagine letting there players parade our corner flag around like that and just toss it onto the ground when finished.

Another dark day in the history of venkys fc.

ACD is lightweight but he still looks to drive and make an impact. First half he did well and even at the start of the second he looked to do something. I was quite shocked he came off.

Dolan does quite the opposite, seems to get stuck in and defended really well but my god going forward he is poor.

We need to seek/do so so much better, we are a few games from sinking to mid table!

So, how can you blame the others and exonerate Cozier-Duberry?

Plonker that PA fella.

’A massive crowd of 25,900’. Small time announcer for a small time set up.

Bumped into two separate Rovers groups at Manchester airport.
Love to see it, when it’s so often United, Liverpool and these days City dominated (especially on our Irish flights).

Eases the pain on the 2 hour flight delay! And upcoming snow blizzard to face

We are going to fly up the league when we remove this Tronstad fella.

The JW song also reared its ugly head....a dispicable Club and set of supporters.

When they had the corner flag it was like losing the colours at Isandlwana.

ACD wasnt as effective as he had be but I dont get the distinction between him and Dolan. The latter, I cant remember doing anything. ACD at least showed our only fleeting flashes of doing something in the first half, tried a couple of shots, got a couple of good crosses in that the donkey in the middle just stood and didnt try to get on the end of.

ACD, came short far too often, didn't look to get in behind their right back Roberts.

Always blaming Gueye for not meeting ACD's crosses or was it ACD not picking out his man like Wilcox and Ripley used to do for Sir Alan Shearer during their time here.

Dolan just did more, played higher, look to do things, him and Brittain have a good understanding between them.

Hes scored is it 1 goal in something like 1 in 18 games? Works hard but little else.

You are great at picking stats out that suit your points aren't you? Ohashi has 5 goals in 24 goals so that's is almost 10 goals a season average which is good is this level. We missed him today.

At least he looks like he has seen a football before unlike Gueye.

We know you don't rated him at all

I’m not a fan of those attendance or atmosphere obsessed people but I thought they were really really quiet considering they had a 4k allocation in their Derby.
Bit of noise from 1 song after the goal but nothing outside of that (albeit I was in the BBE)

Vile if they’re still chanting that one but some pretty shit stuff from our end to Barnes too

OK, he may have been ill, if he was fair play to him for turning out. Having said that he’s too passive for me. He needs to be getting on the ball more and running the show.

I keep thinking he needs to do more running the show and less running around. I'm beginning to think his work rate(which has surprised me) is detracting from his effectiveness with the ball.

It's difficult, because our overall work rate is covering up for the lack of quality, we're not a team which can carry a flair player.

Given that, and the fact we're not exactly blessed with quality up front, it's not an easy combination.

I think Brittain was just about the best player for Rovers today. I think he's having a pretty decent season overall.

Yeah, he’s had a good run recently. I do struggle with him sometimes, he’s patchy, but he’s been consistent recently and I’m not looking at JRC mournfully as often anymore

I once saw an interview with a top striker (can’t remember who)  who said the trick to meeting a cross was to know where the ball was going to land almost as soon as the ball, eft the wingers foot. That’s a skill in itself whether you are 5ft  or 6ft6. That’s why Gueye is nowhere near the ‘target man’ striker people want him to be.

He was deffo our best player today. His form this season has shown why I was so keen to sign him 2 and half years ago

If Brittain had a change of pace he'd be brilliant- like all of our squad though, very one-paced.  Cracking player though, I agree, played really well- especially in the final third- our biggest threat, direct, composed, skilful.

I'm not sure Leonard suits our style of play. I think he'd thrive in a 4-4-2 with wingers playing off a big man.
