I was surprised by how often they resorted to long balls and dark art tactics, but they'll say it got the job done, I suppose.

Their GK, with the basin-cut hairdo, was an absolute penis, wasn't he?
As soon as they scored, he was giving it the big one to the Blackburn End and didn't stop - then all of the time wasting and girly run-ups for goal kicks, etc.

Thought we defended well overall, but we just don't have the quality going forward.
I'm a fan of Cantwell, but quite frankly, the rest of the squad just isn't on the same mental wavelength as him - they don't make the runs for his passes, for example.

Leonard offered so much more than Gueye in a short space of time.

Oooo a bit of Latin too, ramping up the condescending tone, bravo!

You're welcome.

If you think I was intending to be condescending before I might as well go the whole hog and ask you if you want me to explain what it means to you.

(Joking)

Whoops! You probably realised that so being condescending again.

If Tronstad doesn't give the ball away initially they don't score.

If Hyam gets a clean header on the ball they don't score.

If Tronstad remains alert when the ball comes back in they probably don't score.

You can't pin that on ACD at all. Well you can but it's completely unfair.

You could also add in Beck to Tronstad and ACD, all three had the opportunity to get the ball upfield from the left back / half position. The fact that none took the responsibility meant that we lost the ball, which was then recycled, leading to the cross / cross / headed goal.

If Brittain had a change of pace he'd be brilliant- like all of our squad though, very one-paced.  Cracking player though, I agree, played really well- especially in the final third- our biggest threat, direct, composed, skilful.

I'm not sure Leonard suits our style of play. I think he'd thrive in a 4-4-2 with wingers playing off a big man.

We’ll need a Time Machine for that.

wouldn't be playing here tho.

He has been one our best players this season

I think Leonard would be better starting for us, he can score goals which is what we need

I think your wrong on that point, IMO Beck and Brittain are the only two at the club that have a turn of pace.

Not disagreeing with your take on the match but Gueye was certainly making a run for the pass, when Cantwell passed it straight to the Dingle. Cantwell was awful today, so slow on the ball and turned it over on numerous occasions, he’s not looking like the quality player that I had hoped, he would.

Like you’re doing with Tronstadt?

No - he gave the ball away initially under no real pressure then was directly responsible for the goal at the end by ball watching and not picking up his man.

Watch it back.

I will at some point. Before I do that though, I do know that you’re not one to reverse your opinion on someone and once their card is marked, that’s it for you, so I’m reserving judgment on that basis. 😅.

Doesn’t help anyone to be that stubborn, we can all make mistakes and get things and players wrong.

Have to agree, I thought Cantwell was definitely our weakest player today and I was amazed that he stayed on for the whole match.

Being generous I’d say he wasn’t fit, but then that makes it even more surprising that he wasn’t taken off. But given the impact we’ve seen from past players in his position, Dack & Szmodics most recently, you’d have to say that currently he has been somewhat of a letdown.

Personally, today, I’d have brought Hedges on at halftime and moved Dolan into the number 10 position.

Really gutted today. Thought we competed well without ever really being an offensive threat and they take the points with a single chance and the only bit of quality within the 90 minutes. We deserved a point and Baker came closest, with the header and the comer kick scramble, when he should have got something extra on Batth’s back heel, which somehow ended up in Trafford’s arms. I wasn’t impressed with the Dingles at all but of course, they did what they needed to and left again, with the spoils.

Eustace continues to get everything out of a poor squad and deserves to be backed by the club and our fan base. If they don’t bring in 2 / 3 decent players and very quickly, I wouldn’t blame him if, like JDT, he decides he’s had enough. I genuinely hope that it doesn’t come to that and he is given a proper chance to take us into the play offs.

As you all  may eventually come to realise if we have to go for an extended period of time without Travis.

It's OK though - I won't expect an apology!

It’s not just Tronstadt though, is it? You’ve been like that with numerous other players and won’t change your mind.
I won’t expect an apology from you either tbf, you’re far too stubborn for that! 😅.

It was an awful ball, however the run was even worse. Dragged his marker into the middle of the pitch (who ended up being the one who intercepted it). Needed to stay wide and leave the space for Cantwell

Yeah - Gallagher, Lowe, Evans, Bennett - all world beaters.

Tronstad doesn't fit into that bracket - I just think he's extremely ordinary.
