It is the one day that baffles me , cannot understand for the life in me, why they still want the club?

The club has been decaying on their stewardship since day one!

Very very strange setup

I always go back to this and have never deviated. They are covering something up and the sinister things going on in India with them being investigated, compounds my thoughts on this, even more.

After watching the policing operation today I couldn't help reflect on my first experiences of this derby.  Rovers and Burnley fans mingling peacefully together on the Longside at the Turf.  Fans from both sides enjoying a laugh and a joke without a hint of violence between fans and just the odd policeman here and there.  But above all, everyone enjoying a game of football and the players - the likes of Dougie, Clayton McIlroy, Adamson, etc competitive and the field and friends off it.

Today it's a military operation and the game and atmosphere not an enjoyable experience.  Looking at the numbers of police deployed all over town today it was hard to believe that this was all due to 90 minutes of football.  I feel that somewhere along the line we've lost all sense of proportion when it comes to this fixture.

I thought today's game was awful - two side terrified of losing - with little creative football being played by either side.

When I used to go to Turf Moor back in the day I got the “ Yelloway “ coach from Rochdale. It used to pick up all the way up the valley to Bacup, all Burnley fans. I’d be sat there with my blue and white scarf on but nobody bothered me, win or lose. I don’t remember any draws. The football was light years better. Something changed in the mid 1960’s.

Burnley won't carry on keeping clean sheets indefinitely, at some point they will need to start scoring 2 or 3 to win a game, and they look woefully short up top.

Leeds and Sheff Utd are better equipped to take the top 2 spots to me, they've both blinked over Christmas, Burnley have been near faultless and yet still haven't opened a gap. They'd be 3rd without Sheffs points deduction.

Depends how they treat this transfer window. If nobhead Barnes is their idea of reinforcements up front they will struggle. But if they got someone half decent in then they’ll go up.

I can’t agree with that.

My heart was pounding for the entire match yesterday, as I always want to do them.

I have Venky’s, but will always love Rovers.

They will be gone one day.

I might be gone first though ! I really would hate to snuff it while they were still ruining Rovers.

Difference is, they can't outspend Leeds and Sheffield. Just as a side note, our last match is at Bramhall Lane.

This derby still means everything, your Prem derbies cant hold a torch to it.

We hugely missed Travis' and Ohashis energy.

Burnley were very solid. They have conceded 9 goals! It's no fluke and a sign of how they set up , everyone knows how to do the ugly stuff and if they go up it'll stand them in good stead more than last time, more Dychy. Having an unlimited budget for this division helps of course !

Plenty of stronger squads have also failed to break them down. For a team managed by Scott Parker and with the moaning their entitled fanbase want I expected some weaknesses we could exploit only really felt that either pressing high or just dropping balls on top of their keeper would do anything. Which we did neither.

I wouldn't have started Gueye, in order to attempt the former and would have brought him on for the latter, but our approach seemed muddled.

Eustace has no more juice to get out of this lemon, he needs backing now, 1 look at that bench and their is nothing. He set us up to not lose and we nearly managed it, he knows this team running on fumes. This game coming when it did , with this squad killed us.

As for Burnley, time wasting etc, not nice but we do it ,can't get worked up about it, up to a ref to be on top of it.

I despise seeing them and that really included their players celebrating. Really small time and inciting behaviour again, don't recall our teams ever doing that. The prick with the corner flag 🤬.

It's their time now, but the natural order will be restored and in spectacular fashion if they dont go up this year.

Just to reiterate your point, I feel like we are running on our limit now as to what JE can do with what we have, I'm sure there's another gear in there for Eustace somewhere provided we get the right attributes.

Let's look ahead though we arent in that relegation zone treading water. 2nd half of the season remaining, but from where we were last season at the end shitting ourselves. I'll take a safe season, rebuild and hit the ground running next season.

You saw this with JDT's first season - you can't wait around to rebuild. The Playoffs are there for the taking with even a modicum of investment.

The year after drawing plaudits from everyone for our style of play and losing out on the Playoffs by goal difference we were in a relegation dogfight.

Most frustrating thing is in derbies we can’t catch a break, ever since the venkys came in our derby record has potted, no matter how well we play or how much dominance we may have we mostly come out with a negative result we didn’t deserve… talking about Burnley and Preston, always scab it

Preston are of no consequence !

With a new manager when Eustace throws in the towel like JDT did. Who did you fancy next ?

I understand what you are saying but there will be no rebuild ..

Travis will probably be sold along with Cantwell and Carter, Hyam contract not renewed, Beck back to Liverpool ...So on and so on .

Bottom line will be nothing reinvested !

This time last season we were 10 points above the bottom 3, this season currently we are 16 above.

Now, I'm sure we will be able to pick up points through organisation alone this season, but under this ownership I wouldn't rule anything out yet considering we won't strengthen where needed and have no regular goalscorers in the side.

Nearly 15 years on.

They are here forever.

11 without a win against them lot, including losing the last 5 at Ewood on the bounce. Then you have there players openly taking the piss after the game.

The above in a nutshell is what these owners have done to us.

Here's to another 15 years.

Watching Barnes celebrating and the player parading the Rovers corner flag with a Burnley shirt on….  That’s what hurt the most.

I wonder if the owners watching in India were feeling that hurt too?

Yes we’re at maximum effort and the maximum of our ability now. It can’t get any better. To improve from here we need at least 4-5 quality players to come in

Well, I thought it was all a bit tacky and tasteless really.

With all their comparative riches, only craping through against an injury ravaged team...then celebrating like they had just won the Champions League...

As Mr Dylan might have put it.."Sometimes I wonder what it's gonna take to find dignity.." ( spot my coping mechanism)

Didn't see their celebrations but that is pretty gut wrenching to hear.

Unfortunately it will continue this way until Venkys are gone. The only way Rovers surpass that lot again is if they get new ownership that know what they're doing and actually treat the club with the respect it deserves.

Burnley meanwhile will continue the cycle of promotion, relegation, spending parachute money to get promotion, relegation, etc. until they cement themselves in the top tier again. Don't think they'll manage it with Parker though. We've already seen with two separate clubs that he can't hack it in the Premier League.

I thought Parker had them well drilled, they looked well coached , playing within themselves. There was a 10 minute period in the first half when they kept the ball and we didn’t have a touch. The looked a class above us to be honest

If we are in the same division next year, JE needs to plaster pictures of that classless, over the top celebration and all the other pictures; rubber chickens and horses heads, all over the dressing room and tell them to get revenge at all costs. Tell them that we can’t have that embarrassment and hurt again!
