As much as I hate losing to the Dingles, its almost expected these days.  I'm still more annoyed about the Hull non-performance.

yes i agree,at least we held our own against one of the better sides in the division, the hull game was a complete **** up,we missed two easy chances which a decent centre forward would have put away, the game should have been dead by the time hull scored on their only attack

Only last week we were laughing about Gueye and even Eustace winding up Leeds fans, we used to love the side of Souness that planted his flag in the centre circle in a Turkish Derby and a club legend was allegedly involved in a flyover at the turd

We can’t have it both ways, they have the bragging rights and it’s a pill we need to swallow.

Its like how as a fan you detest shithousery against you but love the likes of Travis and Savage when on your side and Pears is possibly the most prolific time waster in the league.

Agreed, the only slight bit of positivity I can take from yesterday is if that is as good a team you can muster after the majority of the last decade in the top flight you won't be up there for much longer.

Burnley weren't a patch on their side of 2 seasons ago, but - as much as I hate to say it - they look good for a top 2 finish IMO.

Well organised, hard to score against let alone beat, put away their only chance yesterday, and they have the dark arts off to a tee.

Massively helped by a referee that let them cynically break up play every time we beat one of their players.

The BRFCS POTM for the game against “that lot” is Callum Brittain

Very much well deserved

I don't see them making the top 2. I think Sheffield United and Leeds for me. Burnley lack that proper number 9 and if Barnes is the best they can do as striker signing. woah

I agree, hence my comment re: 'dark arts'

The ref let they get away with it early doors, so they took advantage for the rest of the game.

You saw this with JDT's first season - you can't wait around to rebuild. The Playoffs are there for the taking with even a modicum of investment.

The year after drawing plaudits from everyone for our style of play and losing out on the Playoffs by goal difference we were in a relegation dogfight.

Spot on, take heed Swaghail

Sadly Gav seems a long time ago now. These small time b'stards do appear to have the Indian sign over us.

Football goes in cycles my friend, they’re having a run now, battered every week last season, it must have been great being ‘Premiership’.

Until we get rid of these abhorrent owners we are stuck, but I firmly believe with a fully fit first 11 we’d have beaten this lot, what does that say about the shite down the M65 😂

Closed the website to new registrations for 72, but have now made it so that I have to manually approve all new ones. Rejected a few Dingles whose username shows they’re clearly here to troll and wind up, but have now accepted a couple who seem like they might be reasonable. If not, please be quick on that report button and I’ll action bans.

Can I report them before they post?

Haha!

I know there’s plenty that want them off here completely and I understand that. But there’s also plenty that think the six fingered friends we do have that post add value.

I’m truthfully not sure what benefits the website more, but in the interest of not being an echo chamber, my current thought process is if other fans come here, don’t break the rules and be respectful, they’re welcome to.

I think the majority of Rovers fans are reasonable enough to agree that we aren’t punching at the level of Leeds, Bumley or Sheffield United. We simply don’t have the resources, income or squad depth.

BUT we can and have competed in this league under the current and previous managers and as it stands still have a good chance of making the play offs. As we did under Mowbray, as we did under JDT. This would be made stronger by the owners showing even a minimal amount of ambition and investing in the January window.

Eustace is calling for this now, as did Mowbray, as did JDT in similar circumstances. Unfortunately the managers, club and supporters have been consistently let down and gaslit by Waggott and Venky’s time and time again. They are making short term decisions and the long term success of the club clearly isn’t a priority or ambition. They’ve proven that and I don’t see it changing any time soon.

Further thoughts…..

Yesterday’s result hurt because I think we all had the expectation we could get a positive result at Ewood against Bumley for the first time in years. But we fell short again and had to witness a huge amount of shithousery, enabled by poor refereeing, feigning injury, time wasting, goading of our fans by their little boy goalkeeper James Trafford (who couldn’t hack it in the Prem) and complete disrespect by their players for the 2nd time in a row at Ewood at full time.

Also Connor Roberts - what an absolute pussy at right back; went down 4 times during the match feigning injury and left crying by the advertisement boards when Wiemann gave him the slightest of nudges. Absolutely pathetic.

Genuinely believe our players wouldn’t resort to these levels of disrespect that we saw yesterday and it represents the class-less club that they are and always have been.

We’ll have our day again. It just wasn’t to be this time. Our trophy cabinet & history will always eclipse theirs though. No matter how many times they benefit financially  from the yo-yo effect of the Premier League - they’ve never been good enough to stay there in the long term and achieve the kind of regular success that we had in the 90’s & 00’s, winning 2 major trophies.

In peace as ever ...

Left it my usual 24 hours or so to let things die down. Certainly not a game for the ages, we converted our one good chance and that's " all she wrote " ! The referee started well, but was inconsistent for both sides. I think Rovers have the basis of a decent team, but need additional reinforcements, as so many of you have said. We need to increase our goal threat sharpish ... if Ashley Barnes is the answer, then we're asking the wrong question !

I watched the game on TV, despite receiving the offer of a " spare " from a Rovers mate at 5.30pm on Friday. " Where is it, pal ? ", I asked, " Centre of the lower tier, Blackburn End ! " ... " Mmm, call me Mr Ungrateful, but I'll pass if you don't mind ! " ..

Now that's over, best wishes to all for 2025, and enjoy the rest of the season !
