Hannoverover Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) Despite all the issues discussed in this thread we are on course for our highest average attendance this season since relegation! Over 16k average and a few big gates to come too... 19th in league https://www.transfermarkt.us/championship/besucherzahlen/wettbewerb/GB2 Highest since 11/12 https://www.transfermarkt.us/blackburn-rovers/besucherzahlenentwicklung/verein/164 Edited January 1 by Hannoverover 2 Quote

Mattyblue Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Due to higher walk ons all season (not just since going on a run, even earlier when we were plodding). Most weekend games all season have 4/5k of them, so 13/14k home fans in the ground. Substantially more than some other seasons. If you think back to the last Mowbray season when we up the top end of the table, we also saw a spike in walk ons, but as we only had 7k (!) ST holders we struggled to get decent numbers in. We get STs up to 11/12k, which shouldn’t exactly be insurmountable for Blackburn Rovers and we’d be seeing a busier Ewood every week. That has to be the aim for next season, but alas the club just aren’t bothered. 3 Quote

Mattyblue Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Not as simple as that as for a normal game, I.e not the one on Saturday, we will be back to c13k/14k fans. Not particularly impressive that for a team around the top 6, is it? Why? Because we only have 9k ST holders. What do we do to remedy that? Sell more seaso.. . (And how do we do that? Reduce prices. It’s as simple as that). 3 Quote

Mattyblue Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Sell out with over a week to go (in our 31,367 stadium), crowd announced as ‘25,900’. So pretty much FIVE AND HALF THOUSAND below capacity. Ridiculous state of affairs and assurances are needed that it cannot happen again. For the agenda please @only2garners @K-Hod 5 Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 So they did indeed put every seat on sale in the Riverside in the end. Next time we play them split the Darwen end half/half...lesson learned. Quote

For the agenda please @only2garners @K-Hod No way were there 5,500 empty seats in Ewood. 4,000 empty in the Darwen End but were the hell were the other 1,500 in home areas? Quote
Rogerb Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Is the attendance announced those who actually turned up or number of tickets sold. Two empty seats very close by today Quote
Mattyblue Posted January 4 Posted January 4 (edited) Tickets sold. Which is why you get ‘12,500’ for a night match in January when there’s no bugger there as half the ST holders haven’t bothered. Edited January 4 by Mattyblue Quote

JHRover Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Looking forward to 'advice' forcing capacities of Old Trafford, Emirates, Tottenham, Anfield to be reduced by almost 20%. Just not geared up to it are they? Imagine for one minute if Eustace got us up through the play-offs. Do any of the people down there appear remotely competent, capable or interested in dealing with 25,000+ every week? Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Also please ask why we havent spent anything other than crumbs in a time period where we have brought in £50m+ in sales. Including in January when we desperately need numerous reinforcements. (We know that will be the case) 1 Quote

Odd this ‘advice’ they are receiving considering Ewood is under the jurisdiction of the same police division within the same constabulary as Turf Moor, a ground that has its capacity reduced by, err, 0%… Edited January 4 by Mattyblue 1 Quote

RevidgeBlue Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Fairly convenient the next Forum has been slotted in after the end of the Transfer Window. No point crying over spilt milk now etc. Question that will or hopefully will still be valid by then - "Given the heightened level of interest from elsewhere recently in Head Coach John Eustace in light of his success are the Club planning to reward him with an improved contract?" ("We're looking into it") Quote

In any event, we don’t set the schedule. Quote
Mattyblue Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) Though having it in Feb means there’s no “let’s see where we are when the window shuts” deflection they can use. If it’s shit, it’s shit. Edited January 5 by Mattyblue 1 Quote

Mattyblue Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) Oh they’ll deflect on everything. But Gestede or whoever will have to actually come out with a nonsense justification on the record re lack of spend instead of dangling a carrot in a still open window (and knowing it will all be forgot about by the April meeting or whatever).
