7th February 2020

Blackburn Rovers' CEO Steve Waggott has said that the club are assessing all options as to how they should honour Rovers legend Tony Parkes.

Speaking in Rovers' supporters consultation meeting, Waggott was questioned about the club's stance in regards to the petition from supporters that had wanted to see the Riverside stand renamed to the Tony Parkes stand.

Could this just be asked as a follow up. With the date emphasised, this is the epitome of the regime. Can draw up plans to sell the training ground but can't think of 1 gesture to properly honour Tony Parkes in 5 Years !!!

Whacking gantries up in the Riverside to move the cameras (so to make the ground look busier, presumably for the benefit of India) took about five days one close season… to just rename it after a club legend, five years and counting.

going to be interesting fans forum meeting tomorrow

Wouldn’t shock me if the club cancel it or look to re arrange tbh. Spineless from them.

Infuriating and depressing yes, interesting almost certainly not.

Just an opportunity for Waggott and Gestede to get their 'agenda' out now Eustace is out of the way. Eventually that becomes fact and like with JDT the outgoing manager becomes the villain of the piece.

Not if there's total pushback on it. Their complete lies and bullshit need calling out there and then. Nip that shit in the bud straight away.

Don't let them control the narrative.

I know it’ll be bullshit but what was their reason?

Waggott being busy, given what's happened in last 24 hours and someone else being unavailable, it's been postponed for a fortnight.

Probably under the mistaken belief everyone will have calmed down by then.

Waggott crawling back under his stone.

He is a coward of the highest order.

@K-Hod

I’d be interested in their reaction to being asked (more so than any actual answer) the following:

Please give an example from the last 3 months of the owners showing a proactive interest in the club.

I've barely got any proactive interest myself after this latest news tbh.

I don’t blame you but I also know when the day comes you’ll be ready to go into battle. 👍

Whats all this about rovers extra on socials or so called fans groups having a meeting with players?/

Do these groups speak for us - No they dont speak for there selfs this should be down to supporters who have been going the longest & people who wont be dictated to and told what to say.

Why the players and not the board members??? shouldn't be on players backs we should be backing the likes of travis & co

Any protests should be soley aimed towards waggot and pasha the 2 puppets who are running a mock at this club

Shocker- it's been postponed for a fortnight.

No surprise there. Dont let them off the hook.

My suggestion would be the Forum insist both Waggot and Pasha attend on the reconvened date.

Then, the first question to them should be:

"Given you've both overseen the walking out of two exceptionally gifted young head coaches within the last 12 months, do you not feel it incumbent upon yourselves to resign?"

Then if they fail to give a satisfactory response, i.e. one which accepts at least a degree of responsibility, everyone walks out.

It's the only way the Forum can retain any credibility. Its time to stop being nice to them

I am sure this sort of action would increase the number of people that might join the group.

There's absolutely no need for the bit in bold.

When the e-mail was received, regarding the cancellation news, there was a huge shift in tone. I'm obviously not going to divulge exactly what other members have said, as that would betray their confidence, but fans were seriously angry.
