JHRover Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Not many non-PL clubs will ever have a commercial opportunity like Brereton-Mania drop into their lap unexpectedly with minimal input. An amazing turn of events that very few would have dreamt of but it happened and all of sudden we have a Chilean International in our ranks with millions around the world taking an interest, following the club and the story. What have Rovers done to capitalise on this unexpected bonus? Anything at all? Idiots. 1 Quote

Mattyblue Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Nowt they could do. Haven’t you heard from the forum’s logistics expert? It’s not possible to get anything delivered from China to BB2 postcodes… 1 Quote

Not millions to be made so can't be arsed really looking into it, nobody to franchise it to and get a lump sum down payment so can't be arsed. 5 Quote

When (most) football clubs sign a big name player or someone with lots of sponsorship opportunities, they send out a media pack to local sports production companies (like me) explaining who the player has affiliations with, their media schedules, who to contact at the club about filming on site and an estimation of fees for hiring the stadium/training ground/media facilities. It’s mostly so that when - as an example - Liverpool sign Gakpo, production companies find it easy to shoot with Gakpo at Anfield for Heineken rather than dealing with the player management and taking the player off site and shooting at Tranmere Rovers, let’s say. I’ve never received anything from Rovers about Brereton-Diaz. Look at the work he’s done on social media: Not shot at Rovers: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CftUfL4p4D8/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://www.instagram.com/p/Cd_DvhlORfO/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://www.instagram.com/tv/CfxB7FCt6h7/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://www.instagram.com/p/Cj5khrkOGBV/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Shot at Rovers: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CgfRdoOjzc5/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= 3 Quote
Mattyblue Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 The club needs root and branch change on the commercial side. Same people going through the motions and offering a shoddy and stale product year after year. 4 Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 7, 2023 Moderation Lead Posted January 7, 2023 Fans Forum meeting on Monday, I’ll be there either in person, or on zoom (owing to work commitments)- fire me a PM if you’ve anything you would like me to raise in your behalf. (I’ve plenty of my own to add in the ‘first team matters’ part already!) Cheers. 1 Quote

Mattyblue Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 (edited) Just about scraped over 9,000 STs (with half STs included) and he’s crowing about the revenue. Forget about trying to grow the fanbase, just keep rinsing that core. Small time ‘leader’ overseeing a small time operation. Edited January 12, 2023 by Mattyblue 5 Quote
Popular Post arbitro Posted January 12, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 12, 2023 Waggott has essentially confirmed what many have been saying about season ticket sales and his reluctance to offer cheaper deals. He said he has to meet the budgets set by the owners and stated that although Preston sold more season tickets than us he wasn't sure if they brought in as much money as us. In other words he is screwing and abusing the loyalty of our hard core of support and can't be arsed trying to sell more using different initiatives. He also pretty much said the Dingles would get a full allocation for the game in March. The sooner this bloke leaves our club the better. 11 Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 No real conversation about the woeful service and queues on the concourse but at least Savio got to ask about player postcards again. 1 Quote

There’s that small time operation again. 5 Quote
damo100 Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Did anybody ask Swag when he's retiring so our club can move forward. Sick of the same lame responses. 1 Quote

LT reporting - 'The club sold just under 9,300 tickets, and an additional 409 half season tickets' Blackburn Rovers' season ticket revenue 'highest since Premier League' | Lancashire Telegraph Most ticket revenue since relegation from the Prem, so doubt there will be much reduction on next seasons prices. Sweaty Gussets Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 (edited) Swag will be vindicated because he's brought in the most ticket revenue since the Prem days. This bit was illuminating: Responding to questions about Preston North End’s season ticket sales figure being their highest in 50 years, Waggott stated that wouldn’t necessarily equate to a higher overall revenue. He said he ‘was tasked by the club’s owners to hit certain financial targets in order to meet budgets and be able to provide the funds for a competitive first-team squad’. he's just a money-man, supporter 'experience' and a better atmosphere don't matter to him. Not his remit essentially. Edited January 12, 2023 by Sweaty Gussets Quote

The LT have got that wrong. The minutes are stating just under 9,300 in total including the 400 half STs. Nothing will change until he fecks off, alas this long signposted retirement never seems to come to fruition… Quote
only2garners Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 I’m pretty sure I’ve got it right and the LET are wrong - just under 9,300 including half STs. Quote
