Buckley has a poor attitude? what that based on?

JRC doesn't provide the width we seen Brittain do from the right and we need that if ACD or Dolan or Weimann playing from the right.

Given we got 4 games within a space of time, we need to manage ACD time given he has just come back from injuries.

Playing Weimann from the left will repeat the same problem as Millwall away which is the lack of width on the left side. I would play Hedges from there. Gives you the width and I would pick Brittain at Right back allowing to us move into 3-4-2-1 formation when we have the ball and back in defensive shape of 4-2-3-1 formation. We play much better when we do this

JRC has had those 2 strong performances with ACD in front of him and that move to a back 3 tends to be more when Pickering is at left back rather than Beck who is more attacking.

I am basing Buckley's poor attitude on his demenaour whenever he gets on the pitch but either way he isnt up to it and Baker should play.

We need Brittain at right back now.. JRC has had 2 good games but for me it's time Brittain replaced him there. Beck is more attacking but can stay back and allow us to play what suits the team more.

On Saturday we have no width hence why me and others want Brittain back in the team. I want Hedges in to allow us to do what suits us best

Woah, so now you are body language expert 🤔

I picked Baker based on how I want him to play next Tronstad but I am tempted to play Buckley next to Baker for the Hull game allowing Tronstad a rest

If we bring in Buckley for Tronstad then it is a considerable downgrade.

We unfortunately lack width as we havent sufficiently recruited players who can provide it.

We need to use the squad during this period of 4 games in 10 days

Eustace wants the right back to provide the width on the right and left winger to do so. Making it 3-4-2-1 going forward. It's suited us all season

I think that after our recent great run, results will start to level out somewhat, especially if as reported, Travis and Pickering are out for a while.

Travis will be a big loss whoever replaces him.

With Pickering out, we have little option but to move Beck to left back. This is compounded by having to bring Hedges back in, so we lose some attacking threat down the left.

0-2

Exactly! One bad beat (could argue unlucky tbh) and the doom and gloom is out in full force again. Recency bias. People quick to forget we’re in the top 5 with all to play for.

And a few quicker to forget how we collapse over Christmas/New Year.

I've been burned too many times to start believing just yet. Too many shirkers in the squad as we saw on Saturday. The going gets tough and they are very quick to dial it in.

January will be interesting. Surely they’ve learned by now that investing in new players whilst in a position of relative strength might actually bring success.

Venkys are interested only in cutting costs. End of.

Trav is a massive loss over the next few weeks. Not too sure on Baker, he's done OK as a sub and filling in for 1 game but there has to be a reason a struggling Stoke side loaned him out.

Big test for us, a win really gives us the belief we're in contention but a loss opens up a 9 point gap between us and Sunderland.

Feels like exactly the type of game Rovers normally lose. Let's see if JE has managed to instill any kind of back bone into the team.

Based on this seasons from Travis is irreplaceable by any of the current squad but out of the candidates (Baker, Buckley and JRC) I would favour Baker. He did fine at Hull and I think he has more of Travis' attributes than the other two. Buckley isn't anywhere near for me albeit based on limited appearances this season and JRC doesn't appear to have the stamina for such a demanding role.

Irrespective losing Travis is a body blow and it could even signal a change in tactics or shape to overcome his absence.

Baker in, let him prove himself. He is a gritty player can put the ball aoput well from centre field. Absolutely gutted for Trav we needed him this next few games for sure. Gotta get behind them now I've got faith in Eustace still to procure the right systems for next 6 week of fixtures.

1-0 Rovers v Sunderland

Travis missing is a huge blow but it's for circumstances like this that Baker was brought in so we'll have to hope he proves a passable replacement.

Guess we'll now see if Tronstad is as good as everyone reckons he is without Travis to do all the work for him. Let's hope he is.

On the game itself it seems looking in from the outside that Sunderland aren't playing quite as well as they were earlier in the season but they've come from behind late on to nick victories a few times recently so they seem to be resolute.

Could be a very attritional grind on Boxing Day. Hoping we come out the right side.

1-0 Rovers. Goal off Gueye's backside.

Disappointing outcome yesterday but I think Rovers will get something from Boxing Day. When the games come thick and fast I'd say that 4 points from the next 2 would be pretty acceptable, but crucial not to lose either of them.

Would like to see Cantwell back in the number 10 role.

2 points from the next 2 would be outstanding.

Our season is about to hit the buffers I fear - injuries and fixtures piling up.

Bad news that Travis will be out for six weeks; can't see any other option than having Baker being put in to play next to Tronstad for the upcoming games as having both Buckley and Cantwell on the pitch would probably lead to the team becoming unbalanced. JRC struggled badly in first half vs Millwall, maybe it's time for Brittain to start again.

My starting XI vs Sunderland:

                Pears

Brittain  Batth Hyam   Beck

          Tronstad  Baker

  ACD     Cantwell    Hedges

               Gueye

This is a crucial time of the season where teams with big squads will benefit from being able to rotate during a congested match schedule and still pick up points. Let's hope we can put in a good performance and avoid any further injuries.

Baker got stuck in that Chelsea loan vortex for too long, but he's a quality player.

Stoke had a change of manager and wanted rid of him, it happens. We're undoubtedly paying all of his wages so that's as good as a transfer for them.

How would 2 points from the next 2 games be outstanding?

We have as good a home record as most In the division, Hull have spent the majority of the season in the bottom half

I would hope for four points from the next two games. I would settle for three, as long as we gained them against Sunderland.
