Thought Hyam was smashing that volley into our own next for a split second!

Games gone scrappy but we should be up for that

Need Yuki to be sensible on a booking

That should've been a goal.

Dolan was offside from when Ohashi headed it although Ohashi wasn't trying to pass to him and it hit a Sunderland player and went 90 deg into Dolan's path. Not sure what the offside rule is on that, must be offside!

Dolan was stood in an offside position but the ball ricocheted off a Sunderland player last. Does it not have to be an intentional action from the defender these days?

Have to say, that's a brilliant first half.
Quick and aggressive in attack; if we had a forward who could finish, we'd be 3-0 or 4-0 up at HT.

Haven't missed Trav, which is a big compliment to Baker and the back line are very well drilled.

JE has this spot on so far.
Big test of our intentions this season and, after 45 minutes, so far so good.

Hedges and Dolan showing exactly why they are so polarising. Moments of good work, undone by poor decisions a few mins later.

Overall, a good half from us and we are now starting to frustrate Sunderland and forcing the game into a scrappy affair, which suits us.

Weve looked really good, solid in defence, threatening on the break. Should probably be 2-0 up on balance...

Under most of our managers of recent times i would now expect us to lose all our confidence and have a real torrid second half. But with Eustace feel quite secure..

Agree with all of this. A very impressive half. Need a second goal, I suspect, with Sunderland being very accustomed to recovering a losing position. A win here would be immense and, so far, well deserved.

We just dropped off in the last 20 minutes of the first half.

Thought we looked a lot better going more direct with more pace  rather than when we try to play it out from the back.
