Dreams of 1995 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Buckley hasn’t kicked on enough for me. He had his best spell under Mowbray when he played further up the middle. I would be more inclined to use him to rotate Cantwell than I ever would Tronstad. It’s a shame as he looked like he had real promise during his breakthrough years We are looking real short in centre mid. Tronstad has three big games ahead of him. The ideal situation is that we knock 3 past Hull first half and we can rest him after 50/60 3 Quote

Ossydave Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I don't think we should be resting anyone, who do we think we are disrespecting Hull like that, today will be a tough game regardless. IF we were to rest anyone then Tronstad would be the last name on the list, he's absolutely crucial and even more so now Trav is out. He needs to get the partnership with Baker up to a similar standard if we're to keep up the top half of the table. Quote
Forever Blue Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Crazy to think we can afford to rest probably our best player for a game that represents our best chance of 3 points in the next 3 games. Quote
Neal Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Really hope ACD gets a start today. Was electric the other week when he scored. Perfect game for him today. 1 Quote

Bethnal Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Interesting switch around, but Hedges has looked out of sorts for a little while now and Yuki’s probably approaching burnout, taking into account the season he’s had before joining. Would hope to see at least ten minutes for Leonard, as reward for taking his chance when it came to him on Boxing Day. Beginning to look a lot lighter on the bench these days, injuries have come at the wrong time for us and that’s four long-term/serious ones we have now, among players who would be expecting to start a lot of games between them. Today’s a good opportunity to put together a professional home performance against a good team having a bad season and set ourselves up for next week’s two very big fixtures. Hopeful that Eustace isn’t paying any mind to the West Brom rumours, too. Quote

davulsukur Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I'd probably suggest Danny Batth would be the first name on the "to be rested" list but I'm sure we have medical/sports science/fitness teams that manage players workloads/training etc. to prevent burn outs/fatigue. I can't imagine they are doing much training over the festive period. 1 Quote

The usual "John Eustace is amongst the front runners for (insert latest available Championship or bottom 6 Premier League job)" Or something with a bit more meat on it? Not that I'm being complacent about the possibility. Quote
RevidgeBlue Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 On the line up, ACD in for Hedges so very happy with that. Hope Gueye can score with a clean strike or header to continue rebuilding his confidence. Quote
benhben Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Hoping gueye gets on the scoresheet today. If he can get a bit of confidence to be a bully in the box he could be a handful. A proper winger in the side helps. Quote

If we can get Leonard, Ohashi and Gueye all scoring across 2 games, I think we'll have done well to get confidence up and competition for places intensifying in our 3 strikers. 🤞here's hoping he can bag a goal. B16Rover Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Excited to see Gueyes mandatory assist, miskick and yellow card 1 Quote

Tugay-is-God Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Wasn't easy, was a good attempt. Quote

Standard unverified Twitter gossip, but you’d imagine he’s on a shortlist and it’s local to him, so not something that will be dismissed out of hand. Quote
Backroom Tom Posted December 29, 2024 Backroom Posted December 29, 2024 Apologies as this is second hand but it sounds very scrappy with no real link up. According to Bayes Gueye has been on his heels a bit, Cantwell clumsy and ACD will be on strictly come dancing one day….. Quote
roverandout Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 If we can't beat Hull at home then forget the play offs Quote
moerpho Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Not a very good game this far. A bit boring to be frank. But get me a 1-0 win and I’ll gladly snooze through 90mins+ 1 Quote
London blue Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 How are we looking? Out with the Mrs and the rovers twitter feed suspiciously quiet. Drab one so far? Quote
