Really bad result and an huge opportunity missed.
We've gone from 6 on the bounce to now, more than likely, gaining 1/2 points from a possible 15 with the next 2 games coming up...A few days ago we were comfortably in the plays off and I bet your bottom dollar this time next week we will be sitting  well out. Luckily for us today results have half gone our way, as much as I hate them down the road, I hope they do us a favour at boro.

Such an important few weeks coming up, we HAVE to win our game in hand.

Big game tomorrow.  Rovers, of the last ten years,  would lose it.  Will this team be different...

A win makes Leeds a free hit.  Draw or lose and we are looking at potentially only taking 1/2 pts from 15 over Christmas.  Seriously knackering our chances of hanging around the top 6.

No they won't be any different.  Venky curse continues.

As an aside: Gueye cannot be starting games.  Sub appearances only.

Bakers loan needs terminating.

Once we drop out of the top six, I don't see us getting back in.

I hope I'm wrong of course.

Never really helpful to say things like this.
People are annoyed that we lost and will express that viewpoint on here, especially in the immediate aftermath of a defeat.

Was the overreaction from anyone in particular? Any examples?

I’m sorry you’re offended I also expressed a viewpoint. And we’re all unhappy we lost.

I was referring to ‘death spirals’ and ‘another mid season collapse’. All silly talk after one bad result. The examples are there if you care to look for them.

Gueye simply can't strike a ball which is a problem when he's a striker. He's only starting games because we don't have much else to offer. That said, Leonard should have started ahead of him after scoring.

Big personality and works hard but you need more than that in this league.

Not good enough today and really poor to be losing at home to such a bad team.

Gueye is a pathetic excuse of a striker summed up by that shot he did. Cantwell is a talented player but missed a sitter (not for the first time) and needs to do far more in the final third. Dolan did nothing, ACD was our only real threat and actually runs at players and excites.

Eustace's changes felt like throwing enough shit hoping some will stick. Buckley is a waste of time.

Unfortunately maintaining good form relied on us keeping clean sheets and that was never going to continue for long. Without investment in January we'll fall away to mid table by season's end - although admittedly that'll still be better than I was expecting when the session started.

Indeed, DE. We’ve all seen this script before. I was hoping that perhaps this time it would be different but I just don’t see the evidence to believe otherwise. Winless in 3 quite easily becomes winless in 13 under this lot.

Much as I hate the chicken chokers results like this have been going on as long as I’ve been watching Rovers. In my first season 60 years ago we were drawn away at Fulham in the FACup. We got a good 2-2 draw. On the Monday we drew the dingles in the next round if we win the replay. Come the replay at Ewood a 0-1 shocker in front of a good crowd. Just never turned up.
Since then if I’d a £1 for every result like todays I’d be rich.

It's hardly surprising though is it after three successive second half collapses** in the preceding seasons.

I'm not sure how it could be considered silly talk when it happens ever year around the same time. Everyone knows it, even the opposition who take the piss every year.

Considering we struggle to score in every match and we look a very tired team in need of reinforcements (which every year we don't get) it was always going to happen.

We’ll see what January brings. We’ve had a couple of bad results. That’s it.

And some good results from poor performances where we've got away with it.

The lack of a striker will be our undoing again. Relying on a 34 year old at the back every game won't help.

Poor result against a struggling side. However, they are improving under Selles. Tired and uninspiring today, but we will lose some games and we are in a much better place than last year when we lost to Hull after Xmas and looked a complete shambles with a manager who wanted the sack! Upcoming couple of games are obviously very tough, but I do think this side/manager have more resilience than Rovers of recent years, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we picked up some points 🤞🏼. Victims of our own success really as we have massively reframed our expectations since August when we were one of the favourites for relegation. A bit of perspective should make people feel a little merrier this evening!

You expect us to win every game?

I don't expect us to win any game with that forward line. I think we're very lucky to be where we are.

Admittedly I did expect us to do a lot better against a team at the bottom of the league who didn't particularly play well.

ACD was the obvious positive but it was a day when quite a few negatives reared their  head.

Firstly Cantwell was awful. You’d expect it would be his attitude and work rate that might be an issue, but his quality on the ball was piss poor today. The miss and the ‘offside’ through ball summed him up.

We’ve still not seen too much of Baker, but he’s seems a big downgrade on Trav. Slows everything down.

Big Mac once again came up dry and looked poor. Beck hasn’t looked as good defensively over the last couple of games. I suspect he needs a rest but there’s no ideal cover.

On our corners, they left us 2 V 1 every time. In the first half we exploited it which led to Bakers header at the back post. However in the second half we just put everything directly in. I’d have had ACD with Cantwell, give it him and let them go at the sole defender.

Ref was a clown. Stoppage time additions were way too short, and he still blew early in the first half. The first ‘drop ball’ was a difficult call, but the second one he only blows the whistle when we are in possession. Therefore it should go back to us. It wasn’t all one way. He gave soft free kicks to Beck and Baker which riled the Hull fans, and from a free kick into the box he gave another phantom free kick to us. Forgot his cards as well by modern standards.

And finally, I think I’d genuinely rather have Garrett coming on than Buckley, and he can’t even get in the other BRFC team.

Bah Humbug.
