If they brought one out in the summer even I (as a ST holder for decades) would probably get one as getting to night games is a right faff for me, so a cheaper 16 game flexi ticket instead? Nice one. So ergo ST sales would collapse as thousands would be in the same boat and night match crowds would be down at 5/6,000 as folk will be 'flexing' to the day games instead. If the club isn't bothered about said collapse in ST sales, maybe they'll still offer one to cover the full season in the summer, but I'd be amazed if they did. I suggested a separate area, with unreserved seating , ie Blackburn end upper, for flexi tickets, not simply keep your existing seat.

Mattyblue
They wonโt open the upper tier permanently until demand is significantly higher. More likely theyโd close the Riverside.

It would be aimed at new/lapsed supporters. Obviously, anyone who would be willing to give up their existing seat could do so. Mattyblue
It wonโt happen for a full season. No way will they take the risk of cannibalising ST sales, they have their ticket income targets to hit and they know c9k STs at ยฃ350-ยฃ500 will do that. The obvious solution is to just make STs cheaper so if you canโt make a few games itโs still worth buying one. Itโs that simple - but refer back to paragraph one for why they wonโt do that either.
M_B
ย I don't think there would be some mass switch that you seem to be suggesting. I certainly wouldn't consider changing seats now and I'd bank on most of the long timers would feel the same. Would you?
Mattyblue
You are suggesting a small area of the ground for flexi tickets, Iโm talking about an extension of the offer theyโve just launched (which covers all three stands) for a full season. Your example, I wouldnโt move to some seat in the corner of the Riverside or whatever (if say thatโs where this small flexi area would be). However, my example, if it was for the whole ground for a full season and you could save a fair deal of cash by opting out of the night games you usually donโt go to anyway (as thousands swerve already) then Iโd definitely think about knocking the ST on the head - which is why they wonโt do it. ย

Wing Wizard Windy Miller
At this moment of time, I think it's a great idea. IF we have a good transfer window. Shit window and nobody will bother as we will be on another spiral down the league.ย Simple as that really.ย
Mattyblue
Why not, M*B, worth a try, still canโt see them launching it in the summer for a full season over a limited time โThe Run Inโ style offer, but who knows. But a full season of what theyโve just launched (I.e sit anywhere), no chance,ย
M_B
Didn't say they'd do it, then again I never expected the latest one, but it's a step in the right direction. ย A good uptake may get a few behind the scenes thinking.
DeeCee
They'll only do it at this stage of the season so as not to affect season ticket sales in theย spring, or whenever they decide to put them on sale.
