I don't understand the levels of dislike towards this guy. He reminds me of Grella, despite perhaps not being a 90 minutes a game player (certainly not regularly). Sensible head who will put a tackle in. How come people are obsessed with making him out to be below championship quality?

Hard to excel in limited game time but I dont think his performances have done anything to suggest that Plymouth were wrong to not want him.

Do you want to expand? What's been the issue?

If I remember correctly Grella on his very few appearances could put himself about a bit , this bugger is like watching still life !

At Oxford where he played most of the game, he showed he had a turning circle like a truck. It was so easy to play the ball up to a midfielder who would turn him and run at out goal. This led to him eventually having to drop off his man in order to offer more protection. The problem with this is that against Coventry in the second half, him trying to stay dropped off his man meant that he allowed them too much space to advance in the midfield area onto our back line. He's basically too slow / not mobile or agile enough to handle a midfield two as we do when we play as we do with Tronstadt / Travis.  Add into that I believe technical distribution is not his game I'm not sure what he brings.

It's no surprise the Preston pressure all started almost as soon as this guy come on last Friday.

I was sceptical based on what I was reading before he signed, and I've seen nothing so far to make me think he is a better option than Buckley or JRC, who themselves are inferior to Baker.

I know you seem keen to be a contrarian. But even if you have seen evidence to suggest that he is good enough even to be 4th choice, at odds with everyone else.

Why considering our position are we replacing a decent 3rd choice midfielder with a 4th choice midfielder when supposedly going for promotion?

Still don't see him as the boogeyman that this forum sees him as. 4th choice CM on a free, how can you complain?

Because in the squad he is a direct replacement for Baker, and he is inferior as everything implied he would be.

Due to availability, he's currently 3rd choice CM (as he was when he was brought in), and for spells here has been 2nd choice.

Therefore from the start of the window to the end of the window we downgraded. Why would that not be a reason to complain??

Signing players from Plymouth when we needed bodies for a play-off push..  Exactly why Eustace wants out..  Could have been O'Brien or an emerging talent from league one or two.. I don't dislike Forshaw, but he is not what we needed..
