Forshaw moved like Bradley Johnson without the muscle. Woeful. Passing dreadful too. No wonder he struggled for game time in league 1.

Tronstad is our best player, when he went off and Gueye got booked we were dead in the water. ACD too, I thought was terrible.

ACD and Gueye are impact subs and both can change games.

Dolan and hedges on the other hand are ineffective full stop.

We remain 5th with Boro losing at Portsmouth. How long will we keep riding our luck?

A rough prediction, but probably Tuesday when we will no doubt start with Dolan, Hedges and JRC then they'll get subbed for ACD, Gueye and Forshaw in the second half. Failing that next weekend against Bristol.

Don't really think it's luck, it's just a distinct lack of quality from virtually every team.

Not a popular thought bu wish venkys would appear at Ewood then at least we could vent our dislike. Feel I might get a band for suggesting something that the authorities would not allow. Waggott's only there (I never see him though) because venkys pay him to keep his mouth shut.

We could have had a 4 point gap between ourselves and the rest. Now its down to 1. All because venkys won't fucking spend. But oh I forgot quality is coming when it's too fucking late

........... we won 5 points from last 21 on offer.

A really, really tired performance. We played like we’d been made to walk it from Blackburn to Oxford before the game. Out enthused again, much too static, much too deep, too much walking football,  second to too many 50/50 balls, lost too many headed challenges etc. etc. We played for about 15 minutes at the end of the first half  and 10 minutes at the end of the second half, other than that Oxford ran the show.

I’m more than disappointed, for large parts of the game it was like having teeth pulled. I wouldn’t have started with ACD and Gueye. One is a boy playing against men and the other one is much better coming on for the last half an hour.

Scores
Pears 6, bsck to the shaky Pears of old. Palming balls back into the danger area. How did that free kick go through the wall ?

Brittain 6, did his best but only got forward right at the death.

Hyam 6, a decent performance.

Baath 6, ditto

Beck 6, kept their winger reasonably quiet and showed him the running track a few times. Could only get forward at the death like Brittain.

ACD 5, I’m sorry but he’s out of his depth. Got out muscled all the time and was giving the ball away for fun before he got subbed.

Tronstad 6, too busy firefighting, which led to his injury.

Buckley7, MOM, our best player.he looked really dangerous playing higher up the pitch. Dare I say it - better than Cantwell in that advanced position.

Cantwell 6, worked hard but he was another who kept losing possession.

Weimann, 5, another who is playing from memory. He shouldn’t be starting. Last 20 minutes player.

Gueye 6, did his best and held the ball up well. Our attacking threat went  when he went off. Stupid booking.

Subs,

Forshaw 5, another 20 minute player being asked to play 60. His poor pas led directly to their free kick.

Dolan 5, did nothing.

Hedges 5, see Dolan.

JRC, 6, tried his best.

Leonard 5, absolutely no service but the lad has no presence what so ever. Did he actually touch the ball,

Going out for a pint now but more later.

Dembele isnt a miss, he threatened at times but he isnt particularly good. Still, not hard to be better than our "wide men."

We should have signed him last summer. It was mistake not too. Would give us pace wide left which I would like to see a signing in the window to do.

He signed for Oxford for what around 750k. Bargain

Yeah hes really done well there.

Hes a 1 good game 5 bad game type, lacks end product. Still better than our sorry set of wide men though which is why really we need 2 and to get rid of some of our crap.

Relying on rivals' results won't be enough. Statistically need about 74 points to have a decent chance of being in the playoffs. That means from the remaining 19 matches another 32 points are needed such as 9 wins, 5 draws and just 5 defeats. Aint going to happen.

Exactly. We will end up being overtaken by a few teams fairly quickly , unless the necessary, quality squad reinforcements arrive within the next fortnight.
