Inter-League Matches 1961

[Very Oldie]

In Nov 1961, The Football League played  game against The Italian League, (including Denis law, then with Torino) - one at Old Trafford plus a Scottish League equivalent in Glasgow.   Some other oldies and me all have 'memories' of coming over to a similar game t Ewood, but none of has a programme & no details seem to be listed anywhere.......   Are we misremembering some other event, or DID it take place.....and does a programme still exist out there??   Thanks

Thanks.   Info correct, but as we only went to see Denis, who had then not yet gone to Italy, it was not that one we're all 'remembering'.  [ It is a shame these entertaining games were inevitably scrubbed, once with the later Euro competitions emerged.

I don’t recall the inter league games ever being played at Ewood Park. I think we hosted an Under-23 game or two in the  late 1950’s, early 1960’s.

Could it be the game against Werder Bremen at Ewood that you're thinking about? (Not Italian or inter League, I know...)
