CambridgeRover Posted January 21 Posted January 21 You can't allow Simms a header in that position. JRC should have done way more to get to that ball 2 Quote

Dolly blue Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Feel for Gueye…he’s in front of a midfield with no balls and no legs….. What on earth does anyone see in either JRC or Buckley ? Disgraceful.. 2 Quote
Neal Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Really gutted for the boys there. Played well, miles better side. We need to go for it early in the 2nd half. 1 Quote

Looking to the bench it will be difficult to do too much but the feather in our cap may be the manager in the other dugout is hardly a master tactician As I've said previously - Eustace is the reason we are where we are. Most managers in this division are shit (including the waster in the opposition dugout tonight). Give him Coventry's squad and he's challenging for automatics. 2 Quote
neophox Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Luton doing what we could not...scoring against Oxford away! Quote

I’m with you here, not going to slate them for a half we’ve been far the better team, there will be chances in this for us. 1 Quote

Pears would have been hammered for that He'd just punched the ball out under pressure, then rightly kept an eye on it until it was clearly heading to the back stick, he hardly 'went walkabouts'. The header was point blank, flapping at the ball and hoping for the best is about all you can do. I'd argue he could have taken a slight step back to give himself more time to react, but that's a hindsight thing and if the lad had really bullet headered it that could have been worse than closing the space. He didn't save it, so ultimately he takes some blame, but it was hardly 'a shocking error'. 5 1 Quote

That aside, I think we've been alright tbf. Best 45 from Gueye by some distance. Give over. You're expecting your CM to win a header against a 6'3" CF at the back post? It's not happening - and again is why it's BAFFLING we don't whip the ball into the box for our 6'5" CF at every opportunity. 1 Quote

cesus Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Watching Coventry wiping the ball in off corners and putting our defence under serious pressure further reminds me just how awful our set pieces have been for years. 2 Quote

Nothing. They've been ok - Hedges the worst of that bunch by a mile, obviously. A few mistimed passes by JRC and Cantwell refusing to take the game by the scruff of the neck, but by and large we've been on top. There's just no quality going into the box. Quote
RevidgeBlue Posted January 21 Posted January 21 2 minutes ago, Forever Blue said: Exactly. Made it easy for the striker to nod it in. If he stayed on his line it was an easy save. All the players looked at him cos they knew he’d fucked up. Yep -if he makes the decision to come for it, he has to get to it. If he stays on his line it's an easy save. If Pears had have done that all hell would have broken loose. Because it's Pears' replacement it's JRC's fault. 2 Quote
booth Posted January 21 Posted January 21 That was disgusting by JRC, and wtf was Toth doing. At the other end Hedges slow to react to a rebound. Just a toe poke and it’s 1-0. We’ve nothing upfront or in midfield. Coventry have been worse and to be winning is a gift. Venkys, thanks for reinvesting some of that money you shameless sacks of shit. 2 Quote
roverandout Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Another great opportunity to make the play offs wasted because of those cnuts. Fucking hate venkys 5 Quote

The only chance of real substance was the Gueye header, and that was a good save. The Gueye shot and the Batth header are half chances at best that, on an other day, maybe go in. Too many times we've got into good positions and either refused to cross it or chosen the wrong option. 1 Quote
Angry_Pirate Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Stoke 2.0 Long balls, Long Throws and Corners... Big Frank Lampard. Coventry ShirtPull FC getting exactly what they want here...Their #29 has literally got away with 4 shirt pulls that half. Unreal shit ref, without any real disaster decisions. Not sure what subs I'd make, as I literally don't trust any of the 9 subs to make a positive difference. Maybe the CM can show some urgency and we go forwards more often?? 1 Quote
Rover down South Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Come on everyone, why so negative, still 45 minutes to play and plenty of quality on the bench……….😬 Oh to have an injury crisis in the bloody transfer window! Quote

Yeah, their tactic of just dropping the ball into the 6 yard box with someone illegally blocking the GK is a nightmare to deal with. Quote
Bethnal Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Genuinely think we’d need to drop about £10m or so to maintain a playoff spot. Not because full-strength isn’t theoretically capable but because we need so much cover and depth. 1 Quote
