Loads of injured players, players playing with injuries and now we are down to fielding fuck knows what kind of team in our next game. we knew it was coming, they did it to lambert, mowbray, jdt and now eustace(who must be fuming behind the scenes) 6 Quote

Paul Mani Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) We were the better team, similar to the Hull City game. But if you don’t take your chances, you’re at risk of getting done. Cantwell was much better in a deeper role. He’s not a 10. I thought Forshaw was near and tidy when he came on. The big problem is that we just can’t cope with the injuries to Travis and Trondstadt. Now you can add Brittain and Batth to that and that’s before you consider that Dolan and Hedges aren’t good enough and we need a striker. But at least Big Mak put a proper shift in! Its a mess. ... Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) Just got home, My fuckin heads hurting after that. Shite reffing again, added to a withering squad lacking quality and pace. We're tiring now depleting rapidly and collecting injuries faster than a prozzer catching chlamydia. Thought big Mak did rather well under the circumstances. These lads need to start playing to the whistle, too many times waiting for the ref to blow and play continues. Get up and fkin run. Theu should of learnt by the 60th minute the refs not giving anything our way so get up and play on. Really starting to feel for Eustace now, we had such a strong first half of the season, built from scratch and formulated a system that worked and now the wheels are coming off. We needed a couple of signings at the start of the window to give us some legs, to switch out individuals and not to upset the systems too much with new faces. But now we're running on fumes so frustrating to see it all unravelling itself. COYB 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️ Edited January 21 by ... 2 Quote

Cherry Blue Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Although I agree with roversfan99 its worth pointing that all players gave 100%. Different abilities qualities etc but they played their best. Listening to Andy Baies and David Dunn on radio but not one word against owners lack of investment, lack of interest, or their complete non football ownership. Why? 5 Quote

It's the equivalent of going on holiday to Spain and looking at all the football shirts to find a Rovers one. They've got every team except ours🤣 Quote
Blue blood Posted January 21 Posted January 21 The good news for this season is we won't go down. We've too many points and we'll grind out or get the rub of the green (like Boro FA Cup and Portsmouth respectively) to make sure we limp over the finish line. Mind you had the injuries come a bit earlier in the season we'd have been well and truly skunked. Quote

smiller14 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 The people who keep saying 'ah but we're 6th still' haven't learned anything from previous season. In previous years, we have kept saying that, then suddenly we weren't. Next thing we were 'only X points' off play offs. Or 'we have a game in hand'. Then it'll be 'we never expected to be here'. All whilst taking the attention off the negligence that leads to these annual falls off a cliff. Just back the fucking manager. We need 5 players. We aren't operating a trading model, we are operating a 'hope for a miracle' model. Wharton and Szmodics were both unique. We are a bad managerial appointment (Ie Coyle) off disaster. Why not just recognise and take advantage of stumbling upon a good thing (Eustace)? 7 Quote

I'll die on this hill, but JRC and Cantwell were terrible both in application and attitude. JRC wasn't even trying to stop crosses going into the box and Cantwell was just mosying about on the ball in his own half allowing the opposition to take it from him. 2 Quote

Cantwell and Buckley were pathetic. Dolan is shit buy at least he tried. Gheye put in a really good shift Quote
roverblue Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Shite result and the squad is a shambles, even more so if these 3-4 more injuries are serious. Shout out to Gueye who was the only player who put the effort in and looked quality, won everything in the air and some great runs and touches. If only the clowns around him gave him some actual service. If I was Eustace I’d be putting the feelers out for a new job, he has had no support at all from the club. 1 1 Quote

Popular Post arbitro Posted January 21 Popular Post Posted January 21 On nights like tonight it would be way to look at the players and management and be critical but for me that is missing the real point. Anybody with half a brain can see the bigger picture and who the real villains are here. Years ago I read an article entitled 'What is the point of Tottenham Hotspur?' and the gist was why do they exist. They frustrate, lack ambition and year after year seem to go through the motions. That article could say Rovers right now. What is the purpose of a football club without ambition, without structure, without investment and the worst of all disinterested owners. We are kidding ourselves here that the club is looking to improve, to bring in quality players and to kick on. It won't happen whilst these horrible people are here - history tells us that. I'm more convinced now that unless something miraculous happens in the next two weeks and we bring in some real quality then Eustace will walk away. The club simply cannot carry on in it's current guise and hope to be successful. 18 Quote

Backroom Mike E Posted January 21 Backroom Posted January 21 We need Venkys rooting out in favour of owners with ambition. It’s genuinely that simple. Somehow Venkys contrive to stumble on gold time after time, but flush it down the pan. 3 Quote
roverandout Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Venkys ownership of rovers is like adopting a puppy. But as time goes by sticking it in the backyard as far away as possible then feeding it scraps just barely keeping it alive just to prolong its miserable existence 2 Quote
