The people who keep saying 'ah but we're 6th still' haven't learned anything from previous season. In previous years, we have kept saying that, then suddenly we weren't. Next thing we were 'only X points' off play offs. Or 'we have a game in hand'. Then it'll be 'we never expected to be here'.

All whilst taking the attention off the negligence that leads to these annual falls off a cliff. Just back the fucking manager. We need 5 players.

We aren't operating a trading model, we are operating a 'hope for a miracle' model. Wharton and Szmodics were both unique. We are a bad managerial appointment (Ie Coyle) off disaster. Why not just recognise and take advantage of stumbling upon a good thing (Eustace)?

Great post.

Spot on.

Whilst Eustace is currently working minor miracles it stings to lose to the managerial powerhouses of Rooney and Lampard this season, both with rank average teams who didn’t have to do too much to get the wins.

Venkys ownership of rovers is like adopting a puppy. But as time goes by sticking it in the backyard as far away as possible then feeding it scraps just barely keeping it alive just to prolong its miserable existence

Funnily enough Venkys actually make puppy feed.

We won't be by 5pm on Saturday after WBA beat Portsmouth at home.

But that's when they convert to '7th is better than expected'.

We need Venkys rooting out in favour of owners with ambition.

It’s genuinely that simple.

Somehow Venkys contrive to stumble on gold time after time, but flush it down the pan.

Most would agree. Where’s the desire to do that from the fan base though? The only supporters group with any profile sees them as a ‘friend’. It’s bizarre really.

How can we genuinely get them out our club? Suffocate the games? Protests? Like genuinely interested is there an official fans board?

What was the catchphrase under Mowbray?

"If we win the next 3 we'll only be a point or two outside of the play offs!".

It's a difficult balancing act for JE because he must, surely be absolutely fuming at the lack of backing just like the rest of us, but he's always put a big focus on team morale which has played a significant part in getting us this far. He won't want to sow further seeds of discord within a team that is visibly mentally and physically weary already.

I wouldn't blame him for walking at all, but I think he'll see it out to the summer and then let his agent tout him around elsewhere.

Which is true.

Then it'll be 8th / 9th etc.

Pretty much everyone is united in thinking Eustace has us punching above our weight. What everyone is less happy with is that we are once again surrendering our talented manager and strong position out of pure incompetence (if being generous).

If we don't pull our fingers out we are again chucking away a great opportunity. 1 win in 8 only points one way, especially with the injuries mounting.

Although I agree with roversfan99 its worth pointing that all players gave 100%. Different abilities qualities etc but they played their best.

Listening to Andy Baies and David Dunn on radio but not one word against owners lack of investment, lack of interest, or their complete non football ownership. Why?

It's difficult for Dunn with his son at the club.

On nights like tonight it would be way to look at the players and management and be critical but for me that is missing the real point. Anybody with half a brain can see the bigger picture and who the real villains are here. Years ago I read an article entitled 'What is the point of Tottenham Hotspur?' and the gist was why do they exist. They frustrate, lack ambition and year after year seem to go through the motions. That article could say Rovers right now. What is the purpose of a football club without ambition, without structure, without investment and the worst of all disinterested owners. We are kidding ourselves here that the club is looking to improve, to bring in quality players and to kick on. It won't happen whilst these horrible people are here - history tells us that.

I'm more convinced now that unless something miraculous happens in the next two weeks and we bring in some real quality then Eustace will walk away.

The club simply cannot carry on in it's current guise and hope to be successful.

If Eustace walks away he won't have an income.

He’s never been one to bite the hand that feeds him either. ‘Get Real’ sticks in the memory

After listening to Eustace's post-match interview he clearly blames Toth. For the second goal he doesn't mention JRC by name but it's obvious.

Lampard is doing a good job at Coventry

The issue is that inevitably a job will come up somewhere and he might choose to jump whilst his stock remains high. Swansea, Derby, even Bolton (unlikely I feel he'd go there) all could be in the market for new managers soon.

Don't you mean those from out amazing academy?? They are there because they are undeniable talents and nothing to do with the fact we haven't a pot to piss in. No coincidence whatsoever.

A few of them might turn out to be good players, but yeah it's very unfair to put them on the bench in the Championship at this stage of their career.

He has his pride and reputation to consider. His good work is in danger of blowing up due to a situation out of his control.

My experience of life in general is that very few people bite the hand that feeds - it's a pretty stupid thing to do.

(A) He's under contract so they would have to buy out his contract; (B) looking at those clubs over the last few years are they really a step up ?

That game panned out exactly as about 90% of this board imagined it. As someone rightly said this morning on here, a game you couldn't look forward to at all.

Ghastly.

I  obviously don't blame Mr Forshaw for signing but it's almost a calculated insult to the supporters to be relying on someone like him. It's embarrassing.I'd rather see Garrett. Certainly no worse and would have more energy.
