I do want pace. But not pacy players who cant hit a barn door. They have to have some ability too.

Yes, I disagree massively with Elliott Jackson. I would have Buckley at 5/10. 

I actually said Forshaw was marginally better than Buckley but this isnt some some of bias against him. If he plays well I will happily say.

I’m with Tyrone on Buckley- overall he had a decent game. Obviously he doesn’t get in the midfield if Tronstad and Travis are fit, but right now I would play him further forward in Cantwell’s spot

I think playing him deep exposes his big weakness. He initially impressed further forward a few years ago where he isnt at risk of being disposessed near our goal.

I bet every single one of us watching thought Pears was too near the far post for the free kick. All it took was an accurate dink and even then he hesitated and, even then, got a full hand on the ball - pathetic.

As to the others, I thought Sanderson was a liability, failing to track diagonal runs into the middle more than once. The forgettable midfielder, whose name I forget, put in a completely forgettable show. On the plus side, I thought that was Gueye’s best game yet: Can’t recall him losing the ball; two crosses to his head all game - one hit the post and was put away, the other was goal-bound till JRC blundered into the scene.

At Oxford BRFCS members rated Buckley man of the match, showing there is no real axe to grind with the lad

For todays game on here he has currently got the lowest rating of any starting outfield player.

I have no idea what Jackson saw today to give him 8/10

What a frustrating disappointing defeat.

When I saw the selection I was expecting a repeat humiliation but we played really well within our limitations and in the second half Bristol city were there for the beating.

John Eustace could do no more than set that team up as well as he did 

Now the drama switches to the recovery rooms and the fax machine.

Really proud of the performance today by the players and the manager and his staff.  They can do no more than they are.  Players are giving everything for the club and so is the manager.  Today, everyone put in a shift but some tired after 70 minutes or so because the the demands put upon them.  Rotation and rest isn't an option for our decimated squad and thanks to our owners that doesn't appear likely to change anytime soon.

We have a week to bring in the three QUALITY players that the manager is demanding.  Not squad players but players who will make a difference.  It's now up to the owners to provide Steve Waggott and Gestede with the resources that are required.  Gestede can identify as many players as he likes but if the owners aren't prepared to fund their purchase then there really is no point in the work the recruitment department is employed to do.

It’s time for a bit more positivity. Every team has a bad run now and again, either with injuries or results. Although they often come together, as we are again discovering. But anyone would think we are bottom of the league, the way some are going on. Numerous things have to all go right at the same time to win promotion. That’s why most teams rarely achieve it. But we have come a long way since last seasons last day escape, and even a mid table finish would be a major step forward. Rome wasn’t built in a day. The team is fighting hard, our injured players are coming back and results will turn. Let’s evaluate once the transfer window closes and in the mean time, keep the faith. We are still only two points of the playoffs.

Few team mates visibly unimpressed with Pears for the first goal today.

Most unusual for me after a defeat but purposely stayed after the final whistle to applaud the team. We deserved something from the game and the contrast in performance from the Oxford match was stark. Yesterday the players gave it their all and this included a few who clearly wouldn't have played had we had some strength in depth. Eustace too deserves praise for putting out a team and coming up with a system that on another day would have got us something. The players and staff are so deserving of our support simply by getting us to where we are and still in with a shout of getting something despite the efforts of the cretins at Ewood and in India to derail another season. These people are the real enemies of Rovers and if we do drop down the league it's on them as it has been for several years now.

Eustace, his staff and the players aren't stupid. They can see exactly where the problem lies and that three weeks have been wasted, three weeks when some new, quality players would likely have contributed to earn us some points from these recent defeats.

F*** Waggott, Pasta (or whatever his name is this week), Gestede and the Punekars.

Why do Keepers even bother with a wall anymore?

We were right behind the free kick for their first goal and I said to my granddaughter that Pears was offering his right side to Twine. If he hadn't had been sloth like moving his feet he would have saved it. There was no pace on the ball and it was low down so for me it should have been an bread and butter save.

It's on Pears, nobody else.
