Oh come on. Haters? Dieing to bounce on him? Constant stupid criticism?

He has had loads of praise this season. He messed up yesterday though.

It has calmed down this season, mainly because there hasn't been reason to criticise him.

Some of the criticism last season was absolutely ridiculous, most of it prior to finding out that Wahlsted was a disaster.

I can name you ten players at least that people do not think are good enough to play in our first team. Yet we have been top 8 all year. Make it make sense.

why do Keepers bother with walls anymore? Surely it would be easy to just stand in the middle of the goal?

He conceeded from a deflected free kick on his side against Bristol. I think he was trying to ensure it didn't happen again.

We enjoyed some luck in our good run of form. I dont think we've had that the last few games. And when you struggle to score a bit of bad run can be disastrous.

No it wasnt. He made error after error last year, he was an absolute liability. Just marginally less terrible than Wahlstedt.

And this year, it hasnt just "calmed down." Hes had plenty of praise.

I bet most of them are squad players and we have seen that once you get past our first 11, the depth is non existent.

Whatever his reasoning was behind standing where he did, he got it horribly wrong and made a mistake.

Squad players? Nope. You for example don't rate Ohashi (1 in 18), Gueye is the worst striker Rovers have ever had and Leonard should be out on loan. We can all read what you write.

I dont think Ohashi is a player who should be regularly starting and that stat is objective (if it is that many games). He would be a useful squad player which based on Eustace saying he replaced Telalovic was the intention.

I dont think I have said that Gueye is our worst striker we have ever had. He clearly isnt. I dont recall any worse finishers than him to be honest, with his feet. He has had 2 good displays this week and I have praised him lots but he needs to start scoring goals.

Leonard should be out on loan. Hes young and not yet up to Championship standard. The loan would be to help to develop him to hopefully be able to play for us in the future as opposed to being 4th choice.

They are my opinions, you implied not rated across the board. And we only play 1 up front so 2 of them are squad players anyway.

The main reason that we have been so high is Eustace getting every last drop out of them, having us so orgaised and the star performers have been all defensively, and the likes of Tronstad, Travis, Beck, Hyam, Batth, Carter, Brittain and Pickering I do rate.

The praise this season has gone to "the defence". How  many times have I read that Pears had nothing to do because of "the defence"? It's almost as if he hasn't been part of it.

Last season got to ridiculous levels. I'm not talking about the obvious mistakes, I'm talking about the ones like that pass out to Markanday that you yourself highlighted. When it got to those levels, it just got too much.

Since being injured we have missed him badly and he is much better than replacement for Telalovic.

well keep crossing the ball into the box for him to have shots at goal

if he wasn't up to would he not been scoring goals at this level?

Quite right. Meanwhile our crap wingers like Dolan and Hedges who do so much work defensively are never credited for this. Nor thd likes of Gueye and Ohashi back for evey corner and free kick.

He was terrible last season. And he has had so much more protection this season. Both correct. But when he has been needed, hes been far better this season, he has gone from an absolute liability to someone weve not had to worry about in the main all season which for someone who made so many errors last season is one hell of a change. And he has been given lots of praise for it. And people are no longer calling for a new keeper.

Im not talking about passes to Markanday as mistakes, I dont even remember when that was. Im on about the Sheffield Wednesday one. The one v Ipswich that he chucked into his own net. The 2 at Plymouth including one where he rushed out and headed it to their player to score. The one v Hull where Connolly ran in and he was stood to one side basically leaving a tap in. One at Ipswich, one at Swansea, one at Preston. One at home to Sunderland. And there are one or two others.

Hes not perfect now, he chucked one in at Coventry and he made one yesterday. He has also got lucky a few times, notably away at Norwich, at home to Pompey and away at Oxford. But its a much more reasonable amount of mistakes and not many at all costing us a goal.

I watched yesterday's game with the Bristol commentary, and I quote,

"everything good Blackburn have done has come through Dolan".

He's doing OK, it isn't as if we're going to replace him with Alisson.

Erm, ok. We arent going to replace Hedges with Vinicius Junior or Gueye with Haaland either.

But yes, I have said (and many others have said) that hes done ok this season. Has only cost a couple of goals through mistakes and has been much more steady and consistent and is no longer a glaring weaknes by any means, he has been fine.

Doesnt make it any less so that he was a liability last season who made loads of mistakes that cost us goals.

He’s still un-convincing for me.

I think that's down to last season and before,he was a liability.

If we'd signed him in the summer, and it took until January until he made a goal costing mistake which was definitely down to him, we'd all be happy.
