To be fair he's never looked like getting on the end of most of them. He went of one just before we scored with his foot when a diving header would have broke the net. But it takes time, Dolan once again provides the cross, Gueye scores the goal. 1-0 Rovers. 1 Quote

sharpysharps86 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 So important to get the first goal. Another one early in the 2nd half would hopefully kill the game. Gueye definitely looking like a very different (better) player now than 2 months ago. Dolan did well for the cross, up until that point he was not having a particularly good game. I hope Kargbo is better than Hedges if he's going to play on the left. Hedges works hard like they all do, but has shown no quality this season other than the dink over the keeper away at Norwich in game 2. 2 Quote

They have offered very little, created nothing for Pears to deal with, AND Rovers look committed and up for this as a team. Having said that, we have some glaring holes in the approach, with Hedges doing nothing, Dolan very little and Buckley ineffective. Let's see what the second half brings. Travis has bossed it so far. We look so much better with Travis in the team. 10 Quote

AspRover Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Buckley has such a weird skillset, you get him in the right position, the right formation and with complimentary players around him and he looks a good championship player. Ask him to play the wrong role, in the wrong bit of the pitch and he looks lost. You basically need to build the team around him to get him at his best, but he doesn't really justify it. Quote
Old Codger Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Gueye is on fire this evening. Hedges and Buckley need a fire lighting up their arses. 2 Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Gueye may or may not be good, but he gives it his all, and loves playing the game. 2 Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Dolan/weimann and Hedges all need to come off Quote
Old Codger Posted January 31 Posted January 31 We need to be careful not to let this lot back into the game. 1 Quote
jim mk2 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 It's all PNE and we're looking stretched and a bit leggy...... time to change the team. Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Dolan and Hedges categorically lack the decision making and intelligence required. Dolan plays like a kid controlling a player on FIFA just spamming the skill moves button 4 Quote

He was in his own half and there wasn't an opposition player within 20 yards of him. Quote
joey_big_nose Posted January 31 Posted January 31 (edited) Have we hired an arsenal style set piece coach or something? Our corners after years of being shit have suddenly been a lot better recently. Edited January 31 by joey_big_nose Quote
