Absolutely. Even Tronstad had a slow start and I'm not sure Brittain had really impressed anyone in his first season. Further back - MGP got taken out of the first team squad for half a season before becoming a cult hero. Of course everyone would love signings to hit the ground running but surely it does nobody any good to dismiss them so quickly.

That was when Souey (who signed him) left for the 'Toon & Sparky was reluctant to play him until injuries compelled his inclusion in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup at Cardiff. He scored our goal to force a replay & got included the next week.....the rest is history....My point is Sparky didn't fancy him, at least at first (maybe thought he was soft) & had those injuries not piled up we may never have seen him again.  Souey, however, would have kept playing him I'm sure.  Mort never had a down spell or bad patch of play, he just couldn't get on the pitch.

As for Pears - wtf was that for their goal?!?

I would be the last person to make apologies for this guy, but I think he thought about going for the ball after Potts chested it up in the air & got caught in between.

.........and would everyone please stop about the penalty decisions?.....Ours was a dead certain.....Theirs was iffy at best......

We won.   Fuhgeddaboudit

Imagine Gueye and Sammi playing together. They’d be a real combination.

Would we be able to accomodate them in the same team @Tyrone Shoelaces? I don't disagree by the way.

Give me a 4-4-2 any day of the week, bollox to this modern cr@p 🤣

It changes it completely, not somewhat

A deflection happening once a goalkeeper has dived means the goalie is relying now on luck

It is why not a lot of people can play well in goal. The ability to time your dive with where the ball is going to end up is rare; the best in the world may have cat like reflexes and be able to adjust. Unfortunately, those types of keepers are rare as rocking horse shit

It wasn’t his fault he conceded that free kick at all

It wasnt his fault, I agree.

The one most at fault was Forshaw for losing the ball stupidly with a square pass.

Fine enough, agree to disagree here

talking daft now RF99

Not for me and interesting enough Eustace didn't think it was penalty.

I don't think its a clear foul by Gueye, some refs will give it and some won't. Hyam one is clear as day.

Yes these plodders who got to 5th in the league.

Why do you want a striker based on that logic when our current strikers got us to 5th?

Interesting that you agree with what Eustace said.

Did you think Portsmouth should have had a penalty against us the other week?

we`ve broken north end, their fans are heartbroken and the club is in mourning,to have their special day spoiled by their bitterest rivals, invented rivalry on their part, because they are so insignifect that they have no real rivals

That's why I have repeatably that our playoff chances rest on the striker signing we make in this window

No they won’t. Not on its own anyway. As shown in recent games the squad is under enormous pressure because it just isn’t strong enough. It’s currently flat out trying to stay in touch. We will need a lot of luck also. One more player won’t make up for all the cheap options we’ve pursued for a long time now.

Still buzzing today, been nice to have one over friends and family feels an age since we last beat them.

They are proper bitter though and convinced they were robbed of a result.

We have lots of Rovers mates who live in Preston, Leyland, Chorley and West Lancashire in general and can safely say many of them are sitting smug today having beated PNE, many of them see PNE as out local rivals. I have one of two mates from Chorley who see Bolton as our main rivals, but for most of us it will always be those ***** from the land that time forgot.

Seems strange to me being Blackburn born and bred, but I get it.

Cos we need another striker given that we currently only 1 fit striker at the minute, Ohashi injured and Leonard injured

I gave my opinion before  heard Eustace's comments on the penalty incident.

Yes but I actually thought the ref played on cos Bishop should have scored so he played advantage

Eustace and Travis clearly have very close bond and Eustace is a class act for me.

The manager who is most suited for getting us out of this division since we came down. Just a shame the club won’t back him.

The passion JE has is outstanding. He's as cool as anyone when interviewed but watch his reactions here. Final whistle goes and he graps his captain Travis. Everyone is very disciplined.

Venkys, back the man.

They had the 'thunder clap' going on in the Jack Walker Stand for the Burnley game. Was this the same guys?

Were they the same group who came to the Leeds home game? There was a group in the JW Upper who started the same chant and also a song about Siggurdson.

Hard to call another a tin pot club when you last won something before World War One, or thereabouts.

1938. Tinpot is a compliment to them.

Some of Gueye's hold up play was outstanding last night and if Amari Bell can play in the Premier League then Callum Brittain wouldn't look out of place in it. Top right back at this level and our player of the season so far. Another thing that stood out to me again was how much more dynamic and mobile Beck is compared to Pickering. I like Pickering as a steady and honest player... but he hasn't offered us much bite at all for years in defence or going forward. We will miss Beck massively.

To be fair to pickering he has been excellent this season also. Totally different type of full back though... Hes more about making a three with the centre backs or inverting into the midfield.

Will be great when we have him back, lots of options.

Got lost in the two and fro of the game but did enjoy this one... Nothing came of this one specifically, but something has improved as generally the last few games every time we get a corner we get our head on it. Corners have always been dreadful for us, long may this uptick continue!

And the choreography puts a smile on my face. Love the whirlpool one too!

Preston fans really are losing their shit over the penalty decisions in this game aren't they. They seem to all want the ref and lino banned and a public apology. They think their club should 'pursue it' 🤣

Their fans in hysterics makes the victory that much sweeter.

Asking if a corner routine is 'woke'! This bloke needs to have a word with himself.

I like to see some variation on our set plays.
