I can see your point of view with the January transfer window, we get off to a flyer start of the season. Then along come the expected injuries, and no money in the transfer kitty due to the Venkys fiasco.

To be honest, I didn’t really mean that and I was looking more at the contrast between why it still felt good to be a Rovers supporter back then, because the club was run by right minded people.

That said, I think your observation is also correct.

Back then, when the old transfer deadline day was in March, we never got that player or two to make the difference between being promoted and being also rans.

Now we don’t get that player or two to keep us in the hunt in the second half of the season.

We’ve often speculated as to what interest there might be in a “BRFCS” F2F event…whether it’s an informal pre-match thing or something more formal at a venue (speakers, live podcast etc).

If it became apparent that a sufficient number of folks would be interested in attending then we might well try to do something. Ideally, it would be great to do something around another Fan Takeover game but as Rovers aren’t doing one & we don’t get invited to the OneRovers events it makes it more difficult…

That's understandable. I feel like there's a good platform here to voice opinions and could be a good tool for the club. Presumably you've had involvement to a certain degree before, in club issues etc (Fan meetings etc as previously mentioned this month)

Just be good to get together a bunch of us put a face to the name etc probably no better place than infront of uncle Jack in the fan zone. You can wave an umbrella 🤣Explore Wright State GIF by Wright State University

I’d be concerned about the real life me being a disappointment - that being said maybe the online version is too 😁😁😁😁

I don't get the 'kind get any enthusiasm' line for this match. We are playing our second biggest rivals at home and we have an opportunity to shut them up for a while. They have had the Indian sign over us for some time now and beating them would only be bettered by beating that lot for me. For a few hours on Friday I'll forget all about the off field nonsense and concentrate on the football.

I remember a day when Manchester United were our secondary rivals.

Pre venkys, naturally.

I’ve met a lot of the old BRFCS crew on various European adventures, fortunate to still have a lot of friends who have previously been on the forum. Some still post occasionally and some don’t anymore.

I’ll be heading up on Friday. Don’t get to as many games now I have a wife and family (and a 7 hour round trip). Bit different to my carefree days of young lol.

Over a decade ago we did a ‘sportsman’s’ Event at Blackburn golf club, got Simon Garner as a speaker if I recall and the bloke that made Tash Force.

Sold out as well I think.

In recent games against Nobbers they have, by and large bullied us. Players like Evans, Whiteman, Stockley have had the measure of us physically and in my view that has gone a long way to them getting a result. I genuinely think they see us as soft. The first thing we have to do tomorrow is compete and every player has to win his individual battle.

The game also needs the referee (Josh Smith) to be strong on their gamesmanship. They will try and slow the game down at every opportunity particularly restarts and I wouldn't be surprised if they have employed the latest tactic of the keeper going down 'injured' so an impromptu team meeting can be held on the touchline.

It's going to be a tight affair I think with not too much entertainment. I'll happily take that as long as long as we win.

If your throwing pies, I'll be in row 18 in the Blackburn end. Potato please.

Beating Preston would only be bettered by giving the dingles a good hiding.

We could do with Simon Garner up front tomorrow night.

Given where the two of them sit, that would be an absolutely shocking throw 😁😁

Hand the pies to our strike force, they'd probably hit the preston supporters instead of the directors box.

Since Venkys arrived, in the last 17 meetings with Preston we have won 4 times. Does that make us shitter?

Until they meet a misfiring rovers team.

Play Buckley further up the pitch would be another option, I think he's had some unfair criticism in the couple of games he started. Bearing in mind he's barely played 300 minutes in 18 months I think he's actually done remarkably well. There has been loss of possession through delaying but he's also created some chances and looked relatively dynamic going forward. Most notably he seems to have been improving as each game goes on, which is to be expected given the lack of playing time. Shaky first 10 before growing into the game and being subbed at 70 (match fitness).

What's happened to the John Buckley who scored goal of the season against Birmingham and followed it up with goal of the month against preston.

One thing we can guarantee here is that it's going to be a shocking home crowd.

Probably a shocking result, with no home support.

he`s got an attitude problem, all the talent but no application, hence his disapearing act in most games, especially away from home

Agreed,  I think it sometimes works in our favour.

It creates a better atmosphere in the stadium.

1 - 1 would be an improvement on our recent results against Preston at home, and would mean avoiding a sickening trip home on the M65 westbound with the nobbers.
