Eustace…GONE

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed with Eustace given how this is playing out.

I have the utmost sympathy for him given how diabolical out management/owners are, but he's still a leader of men and its hard not to feel he's leaving them mid fight right now.

His is the minor role in all of this of course. But it still doesn't feel right.

It's football - players and managers, it's all one big merry go round and revolving doors

If they're not happy and in demand they move.

There will only be disappointment from me, if he doesn’t say “Ask Steve and Suhail”. When asked why he is leaving.

Eustace's impending departure also sends a terrible message to the better Rovers players - why should they bother playing for a club that seemingly has no ambition and is so badly run the manger is happy to leave for a club in the relegation zone!

As has been noted it must be unprecedented for a club in 6th to lose its manager to a club in the bottom 3. But maybe the rest of football probably sees it as a good move, as Derby are potentially a much bigger club with crowds twice the size of those at Ewood.

Agreed on all fronts.

We know there are reasons for it, but compare today’s attendance with, for example, the one at St Andrews yesterday evening.

We are a ship wreck of a club.

I get this, but if it wakes the rovers fan base up (doubtful) and we start making some noise again I’m all for it. I’ve personally fell out of love for football over the last 14 years, I don’t care what division we’re in as long as the club shows some ambition, hope, promise, I don’t love rovers the way I used to (majorly just piss me off) but I’m all for helping getting these rats out the club then we can all start to love again.

Is Waggott finally retiring this year (please)??

If so the next managerial appointment will be his final gift to the club

That'll be Wayne Rooney then

Once Waggott goes, Suhail will buy another marionette to replace him.

People need to go after him.

He’s the nearest thing we’ve got to our absent owners.

If there's a silver lining to this particular cloud, there's no way Waghail would fork out for Rooney's wages.

If Eustace is leaving because of a bad transfer window it shows that he didn’t do his homework before coming here.

He was promised backing if he kept us up. Foolish to believe that of course, but as we all know, that’s what these people do.

We had crowds that size, in the days before the real growth in generic attendances, before the Indians darkened our door and slowly murdered us !

Once he goes I'm done with this club until those Indian rats are removed.

Im beginning to feel the same. I just feel sorry for the players and the honest and hardworking minions employed by them wankers.

Im lost for words regarding the JE situation. It's been allowed to happen and I'm sure it's been encouraged by Waggot and Co.

I feel sorry for the fans. At least the players are paid to be there and can leave.

Or a dream (read nightmare) team of outstanding candidates, Coyle and Kean.

Not read this back, so apologies if this name has been mentioned - and he won't happen as it would be too public - but Steven Gerrard is the absolute correct replacement.

It won't happen, not only is he strongly linked with going back to Rangers, but "Steven Gerrards Blackburn Rovers" would get far too much media scrutiny and air time for Waggott, Pasha and Venkys to cockroach.

As much sympathy as I have for any manager working under the venky circus Id still have zero respect for Eustace if he jumped ship at this stage in the season after all the effort the team have put in to keep us challenging for a play off spot

Plus Derbys a shit hole of a club.

"Togetherness "lol

I imagine Eustace knew from the moment he signed that there was a chance he wouldn't be backed. JDT was very public about what had happened to him. I'm not sure if he attempted to get a break clause in his contract, but evidently he didn't include one and decided to take the risk. I'm sure he fancied himself to get us out of trouble, at which point he'd retain his visibility and have his stock go up. Sure enough, summer came and there was no backing. Paul Mani says he tried to resign but much like JDT this was refused unless he paid up his contract. I'm sure the feelers have been out ever since to get another job at this level, especially with his stock have risen even higher getting our threadbare squad into the top six for portions of the season thus far.

If he's going to a club in 22nd then it's clear pretty much any club in this division will do. I hold no ill-will towards him as it's clear the writing is on the wall for the summer, with multiple players out of contract and seemingly not being renewed, and likely the same pittance available to rebuild the squad. A lot of parallels to Lambert's situation ten years ago, except Lambert knew he could leave whereas Eustace doesn't have that certainty. You'd imagine there would be a better job than Derby available that he could get, but it's impossible to say for sure. It seems he's desperate to jump before the ship sinks so that he has a stable place to land, no matter where that club currently sits in the division.

Fact is we'll be lucky to be in this position in the future, as eventually they're going to hire a dud who will sink us. It'll be 2016/17 all over again but I don't think we'll bounce back in the same way we did back then. Our only hope is that a miracle happens and these owners finally do the right thing and sell the club. I fear for who they decide to sell to, though, considering the amount of detrimental decisions they've made since they darkened our doors.
