Eustace…GONE

because he’s just gone through a lacklustre transfer window (despite allegedly being promised significant funds if he kept us up last season) and after publicly acknowledging the uncertainty of whether contracts are going to be renewed, he’s been given an opportunity to take a more stable job (which if we compare the back room operations - it is) with employers he can probably meet, will probably turn up to his place of employment and engage with what he will be trying to do. As a “manager” in any business, it’s kind of the least you’d expect.

He’s got a good hand here, he’s done extremely well, absolutely everyone in football is falling all over themselves to point it out. He can leave with his stock high with the likelihood that he’ll be backed, give a proper timeline and project to work with.

Take a step back from being a fan and consider what it must be like working underneath Waggott, Pasha and Venkys. He’s done a year and they’re constantly pulling the rug, moving the goalposts or ignoring requests. I personally think he’s telling them to improve his conditions and the conditions at the club or he’ll go, but if he does go, it’s not an indictment on him, it’s the fuckwits running is on fumes so they can get a bonus every year.

Again, calm down, and relax your body

Nobody is saying he didn't get dealt a bad hand by Venkys. In fact, we all knew that is what would happen eventually. But, again, that has happened, he is disgruntled and understandably so. However, that doesn't mean, he should just quit on the players and fans. The same players and fans, that's stood behind him, to get the team into a position where they can possibly dream of the playoffs. If you feel that you don't want to see this through, then I'm afraid it's a poor showing from JE.

Is it too much to ask a manager being paid £1 million a year or thereabouts to buy a home and live in the area? Families move around all the time in other walks of life so why should football be any different?

It's on record that Eustace put his name in the hat for the Coventry and West Brom jobs. This time Derby are offering him a job. He wants to go. Today was his last game it seems to me

Jumping ship with 15 games to go while you're in the playoffs after months of talk about togetherness, to a team fighting relegation is a poor move by Eustace. You stay till the end of the season and then look to move on.

I fully understand his frustration with the owners and those running the club and they are ultimately responsible but this could backfire on Eustace. You go down with Derby to league one and your success at Rovers is soon forgotten.

Don't upset the Eustace cult.

Let's not forget, he came in here 12 months ago and read from the hymn book. Didn't miss a beat about operation survival and what a mess the club was.

12 months later and he'll leave us because of lack of ambition when the club is in the top 6?

Smacks of an opportunist who talks out of both sides of his mouth.

IF he leaves, then he deserves the lies he may have been told over the last 12 months as he was telling just as many himself.

Unfortunately for us, our club will eventually be filled with the types of characters that our ownership and leadership deserve.

Tell me you wouldn't leave the trio of cunts that is Waggot/Suhail/Venkys if it was that simple.

So in other words, why waste our time on a manager while these guys are here? What we gonna do about it?

He might not get an offer in the summer.

Then what?

Another summer of Venky nonsense and working with his arms tied behind his back? No thanks

Or resign and go on the dole until something else comes along - no guarantees.

In football you have to act when an opportunity presents itself. Look at us in January - golden opportunity to act, did FA until deadline day and it will cost us the playoffs and our manager.

He's got a solid opportunity to get out of here and work at a professional club that he knows from working there previously. That chance might not come along again.

Besides football and pro sport, the average employee gets opportunities to move abroad, move to other cities for a better opportunity.. it's just a poor excuse

Eustace has already spoken to Derby and got assurances about the transfer window in the summer.

All of this is nonsense about the owners, he already knows that he is going. This is a way to save face with the fans and ensure we focus on them and not Eustace.

He is gone already, unless something drastic happens with Derby.

Hate the owners but to leave with 15 games left is so poor.

Hmm....

The issue is though, he's brought some self-respect and sense of identity back to the team, and somehow managed to knit together a disparate rag bag of players into a reasonably cohesive unit. Not many other managers we've endured recently have been anywhere near that, and most have had a much better deal in terms of money being spent.

If he does go, I think he will be a success wherever he goes, Derby or anyhwere else, as he clealry has the management and leadership skills and capabilties needed to make a real difference - and that will be really difficult to replace.

I agree and fully understand his complete frustration and therefore, don’t blame him at all. Equally, I can’t help feeling sorry for his players and our fans and the fact that he is bailing out on us given all the talk of togetherness and loyalty.

Don’t really need to be patronised and told to “calm down” by someone who can’t understand why a football manager would change jobs mid-season, given all of the variables I’ve outlined to you already. Your whole argument is “loyalty” or “but that’s not what he said he’d do” and while that is frustratingly contradictory to how you decided to patronise, I must thank you for letting me use one of my favourite response images AND invoke Godwin’s Law…

Not one quote from that interview points to him staying in my opinion.

The questions now are who next? Who’s going to realistically take it after the last 2 managers give up on SW and Venkys.

Also, what next for us as fans? How can we keep going with this shit week after week, year after year? There’s an air of inevitability about the situation.

And again, him leaving because of Venkys, is something nobody is shocked about. I have no idea, how many times I have to repeat the same thing to you, as to why him leaving the players and fans hanging mid season, isn't an issue to you and a few others. If he was hellbent on leaving because of assurances not being met, why did he not quit already, before the Derby offer came in. If he was a man of moral standings, and one that would not allow liars in his life, then he should have walked away from it.

Why? He owes us nothing.

If he leaves it will be with my complete understanding as to why.

Already eagerly awaiting chaddys list of Neil Harris, Des Buckingham, Ian Evatt, Garry Monk and Kyle McFadzean as managers that we should look to interview ASAP to keep our top 6 push going.

And the annual review of our inevitable finish well outside the top 6 when it will be put down to Eustace's refusal to change formation and sign player x in January as to why we stumbled down the table.

Exactly, I'm sure we've all worked for tin pot, shit house bosses and owners before. We'd all jump ship, I definitely would.

So on that basis, anyone who has ever stayed in a job with undesirable working conditions until a perceivably “better” opportunity comes along is not - in your view - “a man of moral standings”?

Believe me, if you’ve managed to live your life in such a way, you’ve lived a charmed one.

Eustace leaving now kicks up a stir, leaving in the summer we’ll just appoint another man for the job and away we go. Attensions must switch back to the board and venkys and the fans need to do their part, Eustace should not be blamed for suhail, waggot, rudy, and venky incompetence. Bunch of criminals, stealing a living and he wants no part of it, good on him. Sad to see him go.

We don't need a manager... We can be the first club, that has a managerless team. Players pick themselves in the starting 11, with a game rock, paper, scissors

I disagree completely. This is all on the owners. We’ve had this now with countless managers. They are the common theme.

If a decent job came along in the industry you worked in, allowing you to flourish in your role, whilst working at a company that wasn’t appreciative of your skill set, you’d be off like a flash. We all would.

With no job to go to. Life doesn't work like that.

I think the straw that broke the camel's back was the way the club handled the transfer window.
