Where did this come from?

Was this before the derby news?

'Apparently' Travis in particular is absolutely fuming at both the club and Eustace, refused a meeting with him this morning before training supposedly.

He never applied for West Brom or Coventry jobs, so no it wasn’t.

“John is interested in the position but you would have to meet the £750k release clause”

Remember all those who shouted down when it was pointed out all how badly run we were?

"GET REAL WE COULD END UP BEING ANOTHER DERBY!"

Talk about not being short term and blinkered. Imagine how surprised they must be today....

They're probably surprised every morning when they see the sun in the sky.

"Fuck me, it was dark when I went to bed, now the sun's up! What's going on?"

Absolutely criminally brainless. Thick cunts.

Will definitely have something to do with Money, or he’d stick it out til the summer or a better offer. He’s everything to lose in this move and on the face of it not much to gain. So what’s the kicker? Money talks.

Not for one second saying that all the other stuff is bullshit or the club and owners aren’t a shit show.

Stick it out till the summer and then what? What if no other club meets the release clause fee?

It is interesting to observe Nixon now a fully signed up member of the Waggott propaganda machine. Last week he was lavishing praise on the Rovers 'supremo' for pulling off a masterstroke in waiting until 11pm on deadline day to get Dennis at 'only' £20k a week contribution from Rovers, suggesting this was some brilliant piece of negotiating skill and ignoring the 5 fixtures in January that we lost whilst this game was being played.

Now in his latest piece he's carefully constructing a pro-Waggott and anti-Eustace narrative:

  • Claiming that Eustace has been keen on other jobs as has been a 'habit' during his career so far - implying that he was always going to look elsewhere regardless of Rovers' approach to things
  • Blackburn are 'strange' behind the scenes - that's one word for it - I'm sure there are plenty far more accurate
  • Eustace likes 'older players' and showed that by 'hardly using some talented ones on loan when he arrived' - I'm not sure what he is getting at here, presumably a reluctance to rely on kids and loanees when fighting relegation last season - but of course this is to be taken as a negative
  • 'In the end he got many he wanted.....but still he complained' - Eustace being unreasonable then
  • 'The January window brought SIX signings and many came in the right age group' - again the number and age of the signings largely irrelevant compared to the quality, timing and short term nature of them all yet the 'SIX' used just like Waggott has in the club statement to convince people Eustace has been well backed.
  • 'So when Derby arrived one insider said 'There is a lot of relief around here' - implying that there is an unhappy camp and his departure will be welcomed at Brockhall.
  • 'Steve Waggott picked Eustace in a hurry last time and was one of his big allies in the end' - so a double dose of Waggott gets the credit for appointing Eustace to begin with and quick to ensure no suggestion he was in any way behind his departure

It's so blatant all I ask is what's in it for Nixon in return for his construction and distribution of such propaganda.

Well said. Loads of muppets falling for it on FB though.

You can bet your sphincter that the 'one insider' who said 'There is a lot of relief around here' was Steve Waggott, who is probably Nixon's source for all of this, and the relief is that he, Rudy and Pasha won't have to deal with awkward questions like 'why are we letting all our players run down their contracts' and 'why have we spent fuck all out of 40 million in fees and most of the signings are loans?' anymore. The 'one of his big allies in the end' comment of course is likely bollocks, and there to exonerate and deflect from Swag's complicity in events and this article.

What's in it for him...he may have been directly paid for his help, doubt he charges much for that, or he may have just been promised lots of access for his gossip stories going forward, so long as he mostly tows the club line.

I think contract length may be key. If Derby give him 3 years plus this season on similar money then it is easier to understand considering the problems facing Rovers after the summer. Next season could kill JEs career and with no contract extension he would be vulnerable.

A real interesting situation as our next appointment (or lack thereof) will show if the club genuinely doesn’t want to make the playoffs…

“Steve fucking Cooper” - bloke who won a U17 World Cup and Euros runner up and took Forest to the prem after 20 odd years lingering in the lower leagues and taking over when they were in the relegation places?

“Rob twatting Edwards” - bloke who won League 2 with Forest Green and then took Luton to the prem since what 1992(?)

Nah fuck that lads, let’s make Lewis Travis player manager. What?

Steve Cooper win percentage at Forest 38%. Spent £150 million. Win percentage at Leicester 23%.

Rob Edwards win percentage at Luton 32%.

I'd much prefer Allardyce. I could pretend the last 14 years have just been a bad dream.

I’m not so sure about that. There are ways of making it known you could be interested without putting it on the back page of “ The Sun “.

I expect most managers just give general instructions to their agents and they do the work, giving the manager plausible deniability if it doesn't go through. With the speed this is moving there is no way he wasn't waiting for the call.

Because it would just be easier to sell the club on their terms rather than having absolutely no say and the administrator takes over

Administration isn't going to get them their money back or anywhere close to it.

If bills need paying, wages need covering they will send over what it is needed to keep control of the club

Can't see how selling and being free of all this isn't a better way to go!

You seriously do wonder why they don't take this easier option.

Cooper's Championship win percentage will be much higher, the PL campaign will skew it a bit. In addition, has a 45% win rate at Swansea before that. Very, very good manager at this level.

Bring in a good manager on a 6 month deal and make the next few months exciting..

We've got plenty of pace, Carter and Trondstadt hopefully back soon..

I'd piss myself if went up and Derby went down..

In saying that, bring in a drab poor manager and we could could still get sucked into the quagmire- it's not inconceivable..

I would go to the bookies with that one and see what odds you get!

It might be worth a flutter
