Eustace…GONE

It's bizarre that it's not been sorted yet, and if he can't agree with Derby I have no idea what we do at that point. He can't leave to talk to another club, miss a crucial game against a team just below us and then waltz back in. Presumably it would also cost us money to fire him too, so I'd be amazed if that happened. 

It's all a complete and total clown show.

Or maybe the whole plan here is to leave it as late as possible and treat them as shoddily as possible that they do the same as Lenihan and Rothwell, conclude that their future's belong elsewhere, then get something sorted elsewhere and then the club can shrug shoulders and play the victim card that the players had their heads turned.

I don’t hold any blame with Eustace. Came in, kept us up, got us top 6 in January, oversaw two disastrous transfer windows and thought fuck this. Isn’t allowed to speak to the owners and working under Waggott and Pasha? I’d engineer a move away too.

It's not that surprising. With them having their game tonight he was never likely to be ready in time for that so they'll be waiting for that to be out of the way then announce it tomorrow ahead of their game on Friday.

Rovers know what is happening and this 'delay' if you consider it that does nothing to stop Rovers agreeing terms with a new manager and having him in Blackburn ready to sign.

Just more excuse making when we're sat doing nothing to ensure the season isn't derailed.

Conclusion - they're quite happy to see it derailed - Eustace knows this.

Whilst Im sure it wont happen, I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat and so should the players if they've any sense. They should be mature enough to realise Rovers agreed to him having a get out clause in the contract and if they themselves received an offer they considered for be better in any respect they'd be off like a shot without so much as a backward glance.

You're making the mistake of expecting Eustace to think like a fan with your rather bitter comments. That said on the basis I never  want any Club to do well apart from Rovers, if his departure is confirmed I hope Derby go down without winning a game.

It looks like he was engineering his move before this window even opened. His agent-on his behalf-was putting his name forward in connection with PNE, Hull. WBA and Coventry...

And he was right to considering how the window went.

It only takes a conversation or two with Rudy and co in December to realise they're not going to spend any money / bring in the 2 or 3 quality players he wanted.

In which case he knew from the end of the summer window that it was being run terrible and we had recruited poorly, so instructed his agent to put him in the mix if opportunities came up. Again, I’d do the same, I agree with him.

Precisely. There will be thousands of people in work who are actively looking for a better job. There will be the same taking a job temporarily until something better comes along. Why should football managers be any different? JE presumably calculated that taking the job at Rovers (under conditions known to be dysfunctional to anyone in football) was a risk worth taking until something more appetising (eg not farcical) came along. I might, but then I'd change my public tune.

I've worked for bosses who I didn't like or trust. I didn't quit, I needed a job, but I also knew I had a responsibility to my team and certainly didn't mislead people when it came to my intentions.

I wish John nothing but the best. No animosity from me. He's performed miracles to get us where we are. He also seems to be a decent person. I can't blame him at all for going. 

 

I think everyone on football must know what an absolute shell we now are.

I'm not making any mistake. Unlike you, I'm not fooliing myself he is leaving for any other reason than money. He's a grown up, he is making a commercial decision regarding his future. I fully understand. I'm not bitter in the slightest. 

But if it all goes tits up and you don't secure the bag, you can't come weasling back expecting the players to again respond to your 'all for one, one for all' repetitive twaddle.

The players are mature. Performances have proven that. Far too mature to fall for Eustace trying to worm his way back in spouting solidarity.

Make Travis and Tronstad joint player managers. That would please everyone. Everyone apart from.......

Would you trust Waggott and Pasha? I wouldn’t. Eustace has sent a clear message to his team — get out, this lot have no aspirations to be a successful football club.
