Eustace…GONE

So on that basis, anyone who has ever stayed in a job with undesirable working conditions until a perceivably “better” opportunity comes along is not - in your view - “a man of moral standings”?

Believe me, if you’ve managed to live your life in such a way, you’ve lived a charmed one.

I've worked in undesirable working conditions before, promised more money that never materialized. I left, without any other job lined up. If one is unhappy, you don't stay waiting for somebody to offer you something better, if you feel that you have been well and truly mistreated. So line JE, if he felt disgruntled, he could have called it a day well before this offer came in

Again, calm down, and relax your body

Nobody is saying he didn't get dealt a bad hand by Venkys. In fact, we all knew that is what would happen eventually. But, again, that has happened, he is disgruntled and understandably so. However, that doesn't mean, he should just quit on the players and fans. The same players and fans, that's stood behind him, to get the team into a position where they can possibly dream of the playoffs. If you feel that you don't want to see this through, then I'm afraid it's a poor showing from JE.

It would be a strange decision but you don't know what he's having to put up with behind the scenes. If he's pushed out to a relegation threatened team when we're in the play off places, it shows what a shoddy organisation they are.

I disagree completely. This is all on the owners. We’ve had this now with countless managers. They are the common theme.

If a decent job came along in the industry you worked in, allowing you to flourish in your role, whilst working at a company that wasn’t appreciative of your skill set, you’d be off like a flash. We all would.

You would leave with 15 games left? Taking a club from relegation to top 6? You would back yourself, he is joining a club fighting relegation and cannot do anything in the transfer market until the summer.

Derby paying more than us too, I doubt it.

The only saving grace is that Waggott and co have chosen the last two managers and both were hits, so here’s hoping for a hatrick

If he was to stay he would not say he would need to talk to the CEO. The last game for JE and surely our chance to reach the playoffs gone.

It's okay man, we understand JE has a better financial offer lined up, and that his chance at doing something special with the bad hand he has been dealt is not as good. Good luck JE.

We don't need a manager... We can be the first club, that has a managerless team. Players pick themselves in the starting 11, with a game rock, paper, scissors

From what I hear we did that when Kean was appointed.

And Coyle.

Then I congratulate you on the circumstances you find yourself in and applaud your moral standings. Unfortunately, I - and the overwhelming majority of working people - wouldn’t recognise that position.

One would never say, that a club could sign pre contract agreements with a manager as well. I mean, complete the last 15 games, and after that, welcome to Derby County JE. Everybody happy

Don't upset the Eustace cult.

Let's not forget, he came in here 12 months ago and read from the hymn book. Didn't miss a beat about operation survival and what a mess the club was.

12 months later and he'll leave us because of lack of ambition when the club is in the top 6?

Smacks of an opportunist who talks out of both sides of his mouth.

IF he leaves, then he deserves the lies he may have been told over the last 12 months as he was telling just as many himself.

Unfortunately for us, our club will eventually be filled with the types of characters that our ownership and leadership deserve.

More garbage on a par with "happy to out of the cup"

You clearly don't understand how football works - there is no loyalty and any player or manager will move if a better opportunity presents itself.

Eustace is ambitious but in 12 months has clearly worked out the club is dysfunctional and lacking ambition

A better opportunity has come up. Why wouldn't he go?

I'll be sorry to see him go but it hasn't all been milk and honey with him. The team has been hard to watch this season and he's leaving us in freefall in the league

Already eagerly awaiting chaddys list of Neil Harris, Des Buckingham, Ian Evatt, Garry Monk and Kyle McFadzean as managers that we should look to interview ASAP to keep our top 6 push going.

And the annual review of our inevitable finish well outside the top 6 when it will be put down to Eustace's refusal to change formation and sign player x in January as to why we stumbled down the table.

Chaddy. I've defended him a few times but you could have Andy Pandy, Pippy Longstocking and Mr. Fucking Blobby running the club and he would still see the optimism in them. I just scroll past his posts now.

Fair enough... I'm just saying, there are many, who have left work having been in tough situation, that just could no longer afford to continue in that situation. If JE felt that he was betrayed, he could have just said enough is enough. Considering he was unemployed when we brought him in, im sure another club end of season would have easily snapped him up

Alan Nixon now expects him to leave and join Derby.

Only a couple of days after congratulating 'Rovers supremo' Waggott for his excellent work in getting Dennis on deadline day at 'only' £20k a week and after defending Venkys during the January window.

Wonder how he will explain this one

He’s took a job based on promises the board made to him. The board clearly have broken those promises.

Even Eustace probably has no idea how much of a squad he will have to work with next year due to the out of contract situation. Trying to get whoever is left competitive next August will be an absolute impossible task.

He knows he could have a shortage of first team players come July, and based on this window there will only 12 month freebies and loans coming in. Another drop in quality and next season will be an absolute struggle. That’s not what he signed up for, it’s a shit situation for anny manager to work under and his reputation will take a knock.

He can’t just quit because, as JDT found, they won’t let him. He has to pay his contract up. And there’s no guarantee another club will come in and take him in the summer.

Suddenly he can see an ‘out’ going to Derby, who by meeting the supposed release fee . Any manager with common sense would take it.

C'mon Jim, do you honestly think that no other club would come in end of the season for JE, if he stayed and got us into the playoffs? What he has done this season, has been nothing short of phenomenal.

if he’s been given assurances, yes.

Does this not tell you the state the club’s in though?

Give me a break man- he’s the reason why we’re about to lose another good manager.

Just heard an interviee on Talksport where he said "There was a discussion to be had" regarding the Derby approach.

Not the sort of thing youd say if you had any thoughts of staying. My take on it is he's made his mind up and is effectively gone but for PR purposes he has made out that the ball is in the Club's Court re the giving of assurances etc because he knows it will never happen.

Dont think he's done anything to be ashamed of. He clearly feels he wasnt backed in January. Looking ahead there's also the longer term issue of non renewal of players' contracts.

Neither Derby nor Eustace would do that. There's just too many variables to consider.

If I were Eustace, I’d use this opportunity to take control.

1. Bumper new contract with release clause in summer with no compensation payable unless the following criteria are met.
2. New contracts for specified players secured by end of March.
3. Designated, and defined summer transfer budget of £X and increased wage structure.
4. Failure to adhere to any of the above and I walk now.

Now we may all expect Venkys/Swag to not deliver and likely not want to handover control but surely the potential albeit unlikely upside to staying with Rovers is greater than that with Derby for the next 6 months which is a role in itself that comes with risks.

Any which way it’s clearly a very decisive 24/48 hours which will paint unequivocally the ambition or lack thereof of the board and owners. If he goes, there is no way that they can be allowed by the fans to remain.
