Eustace…GONE

From the Derby Forum. Nothing we haven't already speculated

My latest, my mate spoke to Eustace over the weekend so there's your source.

Blackburn want £750k compensation so that's the biggest stumbling block.

Eustace has six players on expiring contracts, not one of them has even a first draft on the table. Not his words but no surprise they're ducking out of 50:50 tackles as one bad injury and they are a free agent (obviously has some memories of George then)

He's been battling to get the players longer contracts and the players really appreciate him. He is an honest and supportive boss.

He has no say over transfers, in the last window they bought a load of players that were different to what he wanted. They now have 26 players (you are only allowed to register 25) so one has been told they have no place in the club this season.

Despite all of this, there is a great degree of loyalty to his team and players - memories of how he was treated at Birmingham I guess - so he's not ready to throw everyone under the bus at the first opportunity.

I really hope this works, he sounds like a top bloke to have managing

Nothing we couldn't have already guessed and he's probably spot on. However I don't for one second beleive that JE has gone and spilled his guts to a random Derby fan.

If he goes, I want the players to down tools in protest, for us to plummet spectacularly off the scales in terms of goals against, and everyone in football to look at our club as being the finest example of what happens if you let inbred maggoty half-wits take control of your business. I'd be happy to register regular record breaking scores against us, so that the shadow-hugging faceless morons would be forced into the light, to answer the questions that their destruction of our club so obviously require to be asked.

Eustace Out means Lights Out means VENKYS OUT!!!

LT article citing “family” too. Really? Living in a hotel obviously isn’t sustainable. Why don’t these people don’t buy a home in the area? They’re multimillionaires, they can afford it. If they truly believe in the “project” they should move house and commit to it. The club should insist on it too - but with a CEO who lives down south that’s not going to happen.

The recently appointed club secretary (or Head of Football Administration), Brett Baker lives in Brighton and actually works from home I'm told. Very few of the Ewood based staff who he manages haven't actually seen him let alone met him.

Not a lot Rovers can do?

John, we know you have that clause in your contract, but of course that went in and was agreed by both parties, before we knew you would keep us up and before you got us into the top 6.

We realise that we have let you down in the transfer market and we will give assurances to you and sign in with blood, that we will give you a decent sized budget, if we remain in the championship and if you get us promoted, there is a £5m bonus and a 10 year contract waiting for you.

So far as the players contracts are signed, you tell us, who you want to keep and we will extend each one and give them a considerable pay rise. After all, we have got the funds, from the recent sales and the bonus from agreed sell on clauses, so we are about to release the purse strings and ensure you are given a fair crack on the whip.

No need to go and speak to Derby, we are announcing in the press quite soon, that the goal of avoiding relegation, is being replaced with an all out assault on reaching the premier and you are pivotal in that.

Now that's what Rovers can do, instead of suggesting to the fans that he is homesick.

I said months ago, I would have offered a new contract back in September, I also said I would have spend more.

I would give him assurances he wants.

It's utterly pointless him taking training though ,talks should be held immediately.

We have a huge game on Wednesday

Talks should have held post game yesterday

You loved calling me out but if Eustace was gone, he would be off already. He has taken training and meeting Waggott and Pasha this afternoon. To me, it's seems he wants assurances over budget and key players to be offered new contracts plus himself and staff

Do you think record breaking defeats would make them care? It wouldn't bother them.

There’s enough negatives right now without you adding more 😁😁

I trusted @Paul Maniinfo..

We should be deffo reinvest more money from sales. We both agree on that.

I have mentioned the lack of contracts renewals as a massive issue and problem.

On Gestede's appointment, If I remember correctly I wasnt keen on him taking that role.

I said I decent one not a good one, key difference there which you misrepresented again!!! 😡

Kargbo and Dennis looked good yesterday and they will hopefully carry on. Riberio looked good at left back. Forshaw is a back up.

I said repeatedly we should go all out and buy BTA which several of you weren't against. You were against Schlupp coming here.

You are quick to say Eustace should decide who he wants but you are very quickly to disagree with his choices. I said we should have signed Dembele in the summer but you saying no, no, no but I thoughf you wanted him to decide so which one is it RF99?

Youve never been able to grasp that thinking that the manager should have final decision doesnt mean that I have to then agree with every decision made should that happen.

Its irrelevant here anyway as he clearly didnt here. We didnt even sign an out and out striker, just loads of squad fillers on short term deals. Wasnt decent, it was crap enough to push the manager over the edge.

Where is the communicator in chief, Gestede?

Surprised he hasn’t come out to tell us we should be grateful yet

I was in the 95 club yesterday (moved there from the £15 jack's kitchen as neither had sold out...I'm not loaded)

I was ear wagging someone asking gestede about the Eustace rumours

He was quite abrupt and shut the person down pretty quickly

'what rumours? I don't deal or listen to rumours etc'

Also saw waggot in there milling around the opposite end I was sat at

Agreed, can you imagine what's going through the player's minds during that session! I think DJ will probably take charge on Wednesday, here's hoping he keeps up his 100% win record.

Dont talk rubbish chaddy.

To be fair to Eustace he does appear to have given Rovers an opportunity to rectify the situation IF THEY WANT TO.

"Sorry John if you didnt feel properly supported in the January transfer window,  from now we'll provide you with a workable budget as we now realise we have to spend a bit in the first place if we want to be a trading Club and we'lll give ourselves the best chance  by getting ourselves ready to go a lot earlier in future. There'll be a £10m budget for summer".

Check

" Sorry we've neglected renewal of players' contracts. We'll offer anyone you want a new deal up to the limit of what the Club can realistically afford"

Check

""We recognise what a great job you've done on a limited budget so far and that you only have just over 12 months left on your own deal to run. Here's a new 3 and a half year deal on improved money."

Easily sorted IF they want to do so and then they follow through on their promises.

Do I think any of the above will happen? Not a chance.

Sadly, I don’t think he’d stay, even IF they said all of that.

Actions speak louder than words and there’s no trust. It’s done…I said that their one big job this January was to keep him happy. That’s not rocket science. Look after the lads, spend a bit of money….they blew it!

God knows what / who is next as our managed decline continues..

Very interesting read.

The lack of contracts for some of our players is a huge concern for me. We are going back to the days of letting good players walk out for nothing and I can't wrap my head around that.

Loving the naivety that he still might stay.

Ridiculous that he has taken training and it hasnt been sorted since full time yesterday.

No chance he’d take training for me. Off you pop to your relegation threatened team. We should have new names being interviewed this morning.

I tend to agree - it would be a huge leap of faith to believe them after what's happened to him and JDT before him.

They held JDT to his contract for a long while when he clearly wasnt happy and it was only when he mentioned Pasha publically and was clearly about to let rip on the Mcguire debacle that it seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

I dont think they'd have any qualms about keeping Eustace here for a few days even if they knew he was leaving.

New contracts will mean paying agent fees and more money pm once signed.

We do not have money for either. Not in the budget.

We are floating along aimlessly by ourselves due to the ED investigation preventing any money being sent. Once the air goes out the dinghy.... we sink.

No, but the stink around the club would draw atttenion to the deliberate tactic of holding our heads down the bog, which is something that will just continue ad nauseam until something changes. It isn't time to be going all soft and namby pamby and letting these fuckers off the hook, you know. It is time for something completely different.
