The LT can reveal that Eustace asked Blackburn Rovers for a new contract and assurances over investment in the squad to continue their push at the top end of the Championship table. However, Rovers refused to extend his deal and provide those guarantees.

This has boiled my fucking piss.

Liam Rosenier is in a job so would cost. End of. Karl Robinson???? He's in a job too. Never heard of Stephan. The other two would be fine but of course would only be to the end of the season.

I hope Eustace reads that, responds and calls them out.

How can they blame him, like they blamed JDT and Mowbray before him.

All a very convenient pack of lies.

He won't do it because he's too professional - but assuming because they've activated his release clause he doesn't have to sign an NDA, I'd love him to talk openly about the shite Board and 'O'wners at Ewood.

I mean Derby are a bit of shambles too...he could do better.

Are they? Not sure about that. They're obviously not in a great league position but having just got out of League One I'm not sure that's to be unexpected. They're not a club that throws big money around but you don't need to be at this level to do well.

I can absolutely guarantee that they have a better structure when it comes to ownership, board, investment. Going there dealing man-to-man with their owner and CEO will be like chalk and cheese compared to working for the evil in India and their stooges in Blackburn.

But even if correct and Derby are a shambles, the fact he's running to join them tells us all we need to know about how bad things are at Rovers.

Taking the positives from this it will hopefully apply another dose of pressure on them and strip away at the facade of normality they've hid behind thanks to good management by JDT and Eustace.

I said last week there's an iceberg straight ahead and these owners won't change course. The only question is how long it takes to hit it and then what condition the wreckage is in by the time the rescue boats arrive.

The more I’ve thought about this the more I feel that no one is coming out of this well, Eustace included.

The club is being run into the ground and the lack of investment in the playing squad is criminal.

However, Eustace should have known what he was walking into and forcing a move now isn’t a good look.

I’d be delighted as a Derby fan that he’s coming but they should be mindful that Eustace now has form for jumping ship as soon as the sh*t hits the fan.

Ultimately we will never know the full story and I’m firmly placing the overall blame on the owners but to a lesser degree, Eustace has also let us down.

He'll keep them up though, only a point off safety. Don't think their owner is mega rich in ownership terms so not sure if there will be much money spent

Laughable statement yet some supporters swallow that hook like and sinker

Surprisingly so. I heard he got a couple of strikers what more could he want?

The club is screwed because so many of the fan base accept anything.

A guy leaving for relegation favourites should get people asking why? Daft they don't when the same thing happened 12 months prior too.

Fuming at Eustace, fuming at the Board. Hope Derby get smashed every week now but also hope Eustace responds to that statement to highlight how much of a circus our leadership is. No idea where we go from here, I just know the fans don’t deserve this.

Read some of the fan comments under this article and tell me that some of them don't deserve this.

Eustace and Blackburn … the end of an awkward relationship
New

By Alan Nixon

John Eustace’s imminent exit from Blackburn Rovers comes as little surprise … even if his next club sit in the drop zone.

It was an open secret that the coach was keen on other jobs or at least his camp were - a habit that has been part of his career so far.

Eustace has found out like many other managers that Blackburn are strange behind the scenes. There are questions about the money and who spends it.

The problems really emerged in public when he called for players in the summer and eventually got them but only after the ‘committee’ could not agree.

Eustace likes older players. He showed that by hardly using some talented ones on loan when he arrived.

Older players cost so that narrowed the market. And the additions of Rudy Gestede and Adam Owen to the team selecting left everyone trying to figure out who did what.

Eustace was being over ruled on some and encouraged to take others. In the end he got many he wanted … but still he complained.

The petty politics popped up whenever there was a chance to talk about signings who Eustace did not really want being referred to as THEIR players.

The January window brought SIX signings and many came in the right age group. Eustace still got linked with a move away.

Upstairs it has been a case of waiting for one of the clubs he had chased actually coming for him. So when Derby arrived one insider said ‘There is a lot of relief around here.’

There is no question that Blackburn have been dysfunctional at times but landing Emmanuel Dennis for much less than rival bidders because they waited until the death was a triumph.

Now the search for a new boss begins. Chief executive Steve Waggott picked Eustace in a hurry last time and was one of his big allies at the end.

It will be interesting to see who comes into a top six side this time. There should be plenty of candidates in and out of work.

Fuck off, Nixon. He really does hate us.

Sounds more like luck to me Alan, after some panic... not quite sure I'd commend it Alan.
