Eustace…GONE

Rovers are in the playoff places & Derby County has lost eight in a row.

But its all making sense to me ($$$)

Our wider fanbase barely raised a whisper when we sold an England-quality teenager, they won’t care about Eustace going.

I’d hope the Trust would be all over the manager leaving like a rash.

Eustace has spent 12 months performing miracles with no backing while all the crown jewels are sold around him. Chances are this season fizzles out to nothing and the downgrade and lack of ambition continues in the summer and beyond.

Conversely, he goes to Derby, begs, steals and borrows enough points to stay up and finishes the season with positive momentum. The summer sees 15-20000 season tickets sold with financial backing for the team - still in the same division as we are. Add to this that he's an ex-player who is Midlands based and it's a pretty compelling argument to get the hell out of this shitshow.

I would be very surprised if Eustace left for Derby even if he isn't happy about certain issues at Rovers given the different situations both clubs are in. Rovers challenging for playoffs place and Derby relegation candidates. Also Derby don't have much money available either. 

If I was Derby I would be targeting Richard Wellens from Leyton Orient, Neil Harris and Des Buckingham.

Would he given a chance of promotion to come and try to keep us up? I don't think that is likely at all

It would be very interesting to see how our happy clapping fans explain JE to Derby. There isn't really much of an argument beyond him being a former player to make.

If he does go to them, the owners and hierarchy need hounding out of the club ASAP.

The owners, board and club gave up on the playoffs in January. That's being generous because I don't think they ever had any intention or expectation of being in contention to start with and suspect the owners don't know or care and the board consider our top 6 position to be an annoyance and inconvenience more than anything else.

When you view the transfer window for what it was - a betrayal of the manager and his team - and work from there you see that bridges have been burned.

You see it again in his comments about contracts - himself and his players being totally let down and left in the dark despite deserving new and improved terms.

He's got to look after his family - can he afford to turn down a 3-4 year pay rise at Derby when Rovers can't be arsed to offer him or the players better terms?

I think it needs somebody like Sutton or Shearer to really put the spotlight on this situation via social media. Either via a twitter post or during one of their podcasts. When they speak, wider football fans and fans of their platforms tend to pay attention. If one of them says Venky's need to leave, that needs to be trending everywhere and presented to the lemmings.

Sutton's lad is said to closely follow Rovers' matters (like many of us) and give updates to his dad. He may be a visitor here. If he is a reader/member of this forum...please put the word in with your dad. Let's get Big Al, Sherwood and other big names on board to speak out.

WATR issuing a fitting response to Eustace leaving, along with all of us getting after them will turn the heat up. The time has come for that. Even if no former player say anything, the two things above need to happen, IMO.

We can't have these bastards driving manager after manager away and allowing consecutive January top 6 placings to be batted away. Their PR merchants and puppet journos can piss off. It's easy to spot who they are. I see they don't mention anything about the Court situation in India? Funny, that. F#(k.off!! The question we need to get out there is:

"Why are people who have no interest in and no knowledge of football, and who remain hiding thousands of miles away, happy to throw money away every year, without EVER making an attempt to win promotion?".

If Eustace does leave for Derby, even those who have been sleeping and who only look at the League table will surely start to ask questions.

If I was him I would wait for a better opportunity. I’d be happy to continue being paid well at Rovers whilst I bide my time. Even if they approach us and our hopeless board allow him to speak to Derby, I’d still expect him to reject the job as it makes no sense career wise. When the right job does come up though he’d be off like a shot and who could blame him?!

Worth the question though if you are Derby owner, no?

Short term it's a massive risk for Eustace to think about taking that job over staying here, for that reason I think he stays even if there is an approach.

Long term though, no brainer to bugger off somewhere where he might get a bit of communication to what's going on at his place of work.

- Fighting relegation


He would be cashing in while his stock is high for a middling position. I don't think it is likely to happen but definitely possible

I don't see our signings of Dennis, Woodrow and Karbgo has a betrayal of Eustace and this team at all. Yes we might have wanted to spend money on 2 or 3 quality players and put them on long term contracts but we didn't choose that path. 

Board? Pasha runs the club and he is the main person here. What do the Rovers board actually do and who is on this board?

You know who is on the board - it is on the club website. It includes two people who nobody knows and I doubt ever come to Blackburn. 

I know you have mentioned contracts many times as have I - we seem to agree on that - it doesn't mean Rovers are going to sort it and for that reason the clock is ticking - Eustace has 15 months left and if he's treated like Mowbray won't get an extension offer and might fancy it if another club offers him 2,3, 4 years now. Security.

If Derby made an approach and didn't offer him a payrise that would make no sense at all. The whole point of approaching an employee of another club is that you are prepared to offer them a better package than they are on at present.

It’s a bit nippy in Norwich, but the air has been warmed up with some hot talk that Blackburn Rovers manager John Eustace has been approached to be the next Derby County manager.

The former Derby player has been named as the favourite by the bookies and some media reports to take the role.

Blackburn play tomorrow. So, if a deal is close, you would think they would want it done before tomorrow’s game.

Meanwhile, Derby must focus on getting a win to end a club record losing streak of eight games and getting themselves out of the relegation zone.

They face a Norwich side unbeaten at home in the league in their last five games.

Dennis and Woodrow have hardly played in a year.When did they last score a goal?

Signed Forshaw....not as good as Baker

Signed Sanderson wasn't playing in League One 

Signed Kargbo whose stats suggest he struggles above Seria C

And signed Ribeiro whose team released mid season 

It was a shite transfer window and despite what Eustace has said publicly he will be dissapointed with the window
