Eustace…GONE

It is interesting to observe Nixon now a fully signed up member of the Waggott propaganda machine. Last week he was lavishing praise on the Rovers 'supremo' for pulling off a masterstroke in waiting until 11pm on deadline day to get Dennis at 'only' £20k a week contribution from Rovers, suggesting this was some brilliant piece of negotiating skill and ignoring the 5 fixtures in January that we lost whilst this game was being played.

Now in his latest piece he's carefully constructing a pro-Waggott and anti-Eustace narrative:

  • Claiming that Eustace has been keen on other jobs as has been a 'habit' during his career so far - implying that he was always going to look elsewhere regardless of Rovers' approach to things
  • Blackburn are 'strange' behind the scenes - that's one word for it - I'm sure there are plenty far more accurate
  • Eustace likes 'older players' and showed that by 'hardly using some talented ones on loan when he arrived' - I'm not sure what he is getting at here, presumably a reluctance to rely on kids and loanees when fighting relegation last season - but of course this is to be taken as a negative
  • 'In the end he got many he wanted.....but still he complained' - Eustace being unreasonable then
  • 'The January window brought SIX signings and many came in the right age group' - again the number and age of the signings largely irrelevant compared to the quality, timing and short term nature of them all yet the 'SIX' used just like Waggott has in the club statement to convince people Eustace has been well backed.
  • 'So when Derby arrived one insider said 'There is a lot of relief around here' - implying that there is an unhappy camp and his departure will be welcomed at Brockhall.
  • 'Steve Waggott picked Eustace in a hurry last time and was one of his big allies in the end' - so a double dose of Waggott gets the credit for appointing Eustace to begin with and quick to ensure no suggestion he was in any way behind his departure

It's so blatant all I ask is what's in it for Nixon in return for his construction and distribution of such propaganda.

Wonder if his cut is down as "agents fee's" on the books?

Yeh exactly!! It's a win win for any coach who has the balls to deal with the crooks. 15 games. Plus play offs. Just come in, pick the team and ignore the chaos upstairs and get us in to the play offs. More media attention the better

I agree, free hit for them. If Swag has anything about him he'd go for someone with a bit of pedigree and say "15 games, get us up and the job's yours, we don't go up and you can choose to walk away."

For the first time I’m seeing patient and blue and white tinted specs types on social media have real anger towards the club

Please keep that in mind and don’t be swayed by a PR stunt in terms of the next manager.

The rot is far deeper set than any appointment, there’s only one cure now and it needs to be treated at source.

First Waggott and Pasha and then the overlords in India need ousting, there’s no other long term recovery here

What does that absolute bellend California Rover thing?  He's like the king of the happy clappers.

I'm so fucking angry.  I haven't even read these forums until now, I just couldn't. I just feel so helpless, so lost, so empty.

Easy to understand, football business aside. Following a club is a personal love and decision, when you’ve just watched someone who preached togetherness basically engineer their way out - you can’t blame fans for being very fucked off. (At the owners AND JE)

What a cunt he is.  Wasn't he part of the magnificent Trust thing? Of course it's Eustace's fault not the mighty owners, where would would we be without them?!!!!!

‘Togetherness’, ‘commitment’, and all that, it’s all cliched manager bingo you should take with a huge pinch of salt.

This is the game, there’s no loyalty to managers, they’re only a bad run from the sack (well, not at BRFC, but everywhere else), so why would they return the compliment?

If there is any truth in the Nixon post that Eustace has been angling for a move for some time then I'd hope the club would have a list of suitable target already drawn up.

Maybe thats why Steven Gerrard left Al-Ettifaq.

Convinced this guy is a WUM, but have remembered that the correlation between talent and money is rarely proportional.

This guy is on another level though. Backs the club blindly regardless. Probably the worst Rovers fan on Twitter and there’s a good few who I could say instead, he still trumps them. Absolute clown 🤡

How are Cooper and Edwards run of the mill journeymen (they’ve actually not had many jobs) but Alladyce and Warnock are ‘something different’?

Cooper has had 3 seasons in the championship and finished Top 6 every time, including promotion with a club that was bottom when he took over. He has a 48% win record in the division over 3 years

You are thinking of a longer term plan. I'm simply thinking of the next 15 games.

I'm not labouring the point but many Forest fans were happy to see him go even though he got them promoted. He was despised at Leicester for obvious reasons, who granted have struggled even more of late. He only however won 2 of 12.

Edwards had Luton stuck in the bottom six all this year with the parachute money. The divisions underachievers this year for sure. I'm not sure why impressed by that.

Allardyce, Souness or Warnock would be exciting and interesting short term choices. Ex England. Rovers, Liverpool, Rangers, etc in fact ex everybody with Warnock..

None of which will happen of course so expect someone like O'Neil, Lowe, Edwards, Grayson, Sherwood, etc trying their best but doomed before they even start.

Just to add my thoughts;

I agree with the most part of those angry at the owners (they’re ultimately responsible for the club) but I’d just like to add that John Eustace shouldn’t be coming out of this smelling like roses.

For all the togetherness and family quotes, he’s basically engineered this mid season. Can’t blame the man professionally but it’s hard to accept, as a member of that “family”, moving to a rival, and basically begging for it on live tv.

Professionally I understand, it’s a short career to some extent and I’d prefer the new commute. Personally I feel like he’s used us and dropped us at a moments notice.

Theres an obvious “groundhog day” feeling that we can’t ignore, but I’d rather any rovers manager had the personal values not to engineer this sort of decision mid season.

If you're looking at the timing----surely its the transfer window that's the last straw.? Spending zilch while raking in money from transfer fees.

He won't be the last manager/coach to lose it with this crowd, unless we appoint Steve Keane again.

I suppose it depends on what he was promised, and what promises by the club were reneged on.

It’s easy to criticise Eustace, but we don’t know the full story. Each side has put forward their own narrative in the last 24 hours. I don’t believe the clubs narrative for one minute.

Eustace isn’t a Rovers fan, he’s a paid professional trying to carve a career for himself. If he doesn’t feel supported at Rovers and another club comes in offering that support then it’s understandable he wants to move on. He owes Rovers nothing. Togetherness can only take you so far if the Owners and Board don’t play their part.

Managers don't really have the luxury of waiting for the perfect time to move to another club. They have to take them when the jobs available.

Totally agree but his position from the outside looking in didn't appear crisis point to jump. The club is a mess but is it more of a mess than this time last year other than another 12 months added to the saga. At least league position wise we are in a better place and we've had significant investment of course...says tongue in cheek

So you're pinning the blame entirely on Eustace and his "quest" to earn a bit more money? You don't even mention the sheer absence or owner ambition or the limitations being placed upon the team financially throughout the season, despite us being in good shape regarding P&S rules / FFP?

The owners are about to mess up another golden opportunity to reach the playoffs because they absolutely refuse to budge on their annual budget being set for club at the start of season. They are all liars; Waggott is a yes-man collecting a paycheque until he retires and Suhail Pasha is the evil gatekeeper who keeps telling the owners that everything is fine, that money has been recovered from player sales and that the club is able to run its operations throughout the season without any further money being needed to be sent over.

Just ask yourself as to why a struggling club like Derby is showing more ambition than us by offering higher wages and we can't even match their offer or provide any guarantees regarding renewal of player contracts or future transfer budget? Their childish statement on the Rovers website should give you all the evidence you need as to how poorly the club is being run. It's time for fans to stop having their head buried in the sand and start realizing that there's a fundamental issue with how the club is conducting its businesses and how they are portraying themselves in the media.

The management/owners need to stop acting like babies, stop playing the victim card and take some f*ing responsibility for once. They have treated the club like garbage for the past 15 years; many fans have already sussed them out some time ago but aparently there are plenty more who needs to wake up.

Ok ill try and wake up.

For the record I'm not pinning any blame on Eustace JC. I'm simply stating what I believe to be the overriding factor in his decision making process.

Do you honestly believe he is so aggrieved with life at Ewood that he has taken a pay cut to work for Derby?

So he stays at Rovers. Cooper comes in at Derby and does a good job. The Derby job is filled for the foreseeable. The job was offered to him now.

Yeah I get it but my point was there are plenty of other Midlands based clubs if he wanted to be closer to his family. I don't know what the average reign of a manager is these days but it doesn't feel much more than 2 to 3 years so would come round again.

Anyway, he's made his choice, we're fucked over again so let's see what's next...

And another chunk of love for rovers chipped away

genuinely not sure how much more we can take, an absolutely dark dark day for the club , plunging into crises that no other club have had to face

if venkys and waggot don’t depart soon I truly believe the club will go to the wall. Without fans there is no club and everyone has had enough

Why would Maggot. Suhail and those cunts get in anyone who could get us promoted?  They didn't support the last two managers that had a good chance.  They probably thought JE was a good bet at mid table, which is exactly what they want.
