Eustace…GONE

This is the problem with Blackburn Rovers under the Venkys. The club's leadership is so poor, so absent, so amateur, that stories like this are instantly believed by the fanbase. In a normally ran club sitting in a playoff spot the fans would instantly dismiss their manager being linked with a club fighting relegation. Not here at Venky's Blackburn Rovers.

In my opinion, there is no way Eustace walks this season. Or entertains an approach from Derby, or any other club in this league. He has his mission of a playoff spot which is very very obtainable. Moving to another club in the summer is another option. I would be very surprised if he jumps ship for Derby.

It's just another day supporting this wacky club.

You may well be right but if he does go, big questions will be asked by all and sundry. The spotlight will fall on Waggott and Pasha in a big way. Wouldn't surprise me if owners didn't know who John Eustace is..

I don't think betting odds on a next manager market are much to assess the chances by, they've always massively fluctuated based on a couple of low level bets.

I don't think JE would realistically leave for Derby but I absolutely believe he will leave in the summer because, let's be honest, what does he have to gain by staying at Rovers. His reputation is in a good place after Birmingham regardless of how the next 15 games play out and given most clubs have a significantly better level of board competence and support he would be crazy to stay.

we were linked with Thomas-Asante and Bamford who most of this board didn't want or rated.

I gave my view on which was I think we had a decent window overall. very happy with Dennis signing. Woodrow, the more I think, I can see why we make that signing and gives us more attacking options. With Rovers having Eustace as head coach and our league position has help us signed these 2 players. Sanderson, I think is a decent signing. Kargbo, I don't know enough about his talent and ability to comment but look forward to seeing him soon in a Rovers shirt.. Forshaw is ok squad player and replacement for Baker. Its a short term signing. Ribeiro. I don't know anything about him.

Who says he wants out? are we certain of this?

what was the budget?

Isn't Sanderson experience at this level and someone who Eustace wanted given he was his signing at Birmingham and his captain there? Aren't Dennis and Woodrow experience players?

How much had Bamford who was mentioned to be Eustace's target?

You are speaking with Blue n White glasses on Chaddy

If Boro or another top 6 contender had the window we had I don't believe you would think it was "a decent window overall"

Eustace wanted a goalscorer,  Dennis and Woodraw ain't goalscorers. All our signings have had a lack of playing time and came in here late in the window

Its obvious Eustace wants out, he is linked with every championship job going. The window was shite and if he stays he will be left with 13/14 senior players in the summer

I've heard the conspiracy theories on this, but I'm not too sure.

Who had heard the brand 'Venky's' before they bought Rovers?
Literally nobody outside of India.

Now, they're a household name, certainly in the UK (albeit for all the wrong reasons, but 'any publicity is good publicity' and all that).

Pears, Toth, Brittain, Carter, Hyam, Wharton, Pickering, JRC, Travis, Tronstad, Buckley, Hedges, Kargbo, Cantwell, Ohashi & Gueye will be our senior players next season. Plus Markandey, Vale, Garrett & Leonard will all have to be registered next season.

Out of all those, 7 will be out of contract in the summer of 2026.

Shambles.

If you're classing Toth, JRC,  Buckley, Hedges and Cantwell as being amongst the spine of the squad you know you've got problems.

Youve shown frustration that we spent peanuts. Youve criticised the inability to sign players on longer contracts. You agreed that the timing of the signings and the time needed to get the players up to speed is a concern. There are a number of players (BTA, Schlupp etc) who you clearly would have preferred.

Yet you think we had a decent window. Something doesnt add up.

It will be back to the academy model, fill our quota of loans and bring 1 or 2 in on free transfer 1 year contracts like Batth and Weimann

We have won 2 out of the last 11.

If we win 5, lose 5 and draw 5 of the next 15, Eustace will then have 7 wins from 26 played. Rovers in mid table and no one impressed with Eustace in the summer.

If he goes now, he got Birmjngham into 6th, kept us up, sold Sammie and then got us into 6th.

If I was him I'd go while my stock was very high. If he can keep Derby up, he's even more attractive to clubs in the summer.

If he doesn't, it's not his responsibility and he can lead a promotion charge next year with one of the divisions favourites.

If we had pushed the boat out, got him what he requested early in January and he believed the play offs were achievable, he'd be more likely to stay.

As it is, I think it's a very easy devision to leave.

Difficult to argue, with the above..

If he takes Derby down his reputation is seriously tarnished and he's got a tough promotion campaign the next season. It could very well be his sliding doors moment if he fails to bring them straight back up.

Exactly

And they don't have a Szmodic to keep them up.

Can understand why Eustace wants out but despite it being a Midlands club and an ex club of his, I don't see the attraction.

Their owner hasn't been splashing the cash and not even sure if he has the means to go big in the transfer market

Perhaps the opportunity to get away from Waggott, Suhail and pseudo DOF  Gestede is too good to resist?

Seriously tarnished?

They had lost seven on the bounce before today. He'll be expected to go down and revered if they stay up.

I can't remember Rovers losing seven on the bounce in all the years I've been supporting. That is seriously shit.

You do know the season doesn't finish this month? There's 15 games left and derby are 1 point from safety...If he went there and didn't keep them up then it would be a FAILURE.

You'd hope this would be a wake up call to Waggott/Suhail, but sure they'll only see it as chance to get some money in to pad out accounts for season.

This forum’s “friend”, Mr Nixon, has just posted a link to an article headlined, “Blackburn will ask for  full fee on Eustace if Derby come calling”.

I mean they signed Langas for about 4m in the window along with a striker and a few more, it's more than we fucking spent!
