Eustace…GONE

Recommended Posts

I don't know what Eustace sees in Derby but judging by their performance tonight they don't look great. Our form is terrible and Eustace is partially to blame for that, although we've had some bad luck as well. Think a coach with some energy and fresh ideas will do the group good.

Chaotic club, but I think some of the reactions here are proof to how far we've fallen when we're crying after losing a 'dime a dozen' manager.

I find it a bit odd that Derby seem to be having difficulty concluding negotiations with Eustace given how desperate he understandably is to get away from the circus at Ewood.

Maybe it's just me unrealistically hoping he'll come back.

Technically he's still our manager I guess?

Shitshow/shambles you name it. None of it Eustace's fault. The Club removed their right to be aggrieved when they either insisted upon or agreed to the get out clause in his contract.

I might be wrong here but if he threatened to resign in the Summer ala JDT , just maybe Waggott & Pasha wanted rid of him , hence the strange statement yesterday ..

I think it is all becoming clear why this is the case.

He didn't really want to go, or at least, not to Derby. Not now.

This was a leverage move and he expected to come out on top. Yes, he wanted to leave, but not for a club fighting relegation. This was a chance for a bit of a raise and maybe a few more promises for the summer.

He didn't care about the promises, he wanted the extra money and the extra security if they decided to sack him. He may have actually learned from the JDT experience and saw how quickly things can turn sour. Playoffs today. Relegation battle tomorrow.

Take the money and run, John. But, you know, you've shown your true colours. Even the lads can see it.

The more I think about it the more I'm pissed off at Eustace.

He knew what he was signing up for, Rovers are a shit show and have been for years. He signed the contract, he should see it out or at least have the decency to the supporters to see the season out with us sat in the play offs.

Class A prick.

Fully agree should had stayed until the season end and then show the bellends. But jumped ship as soon he could. Thought he was a fighter. But with this lot of owners and board everyone wants to run away as fast as they can.

I think he's after stability and assurances. The money will have been sounded out a week ago when they approached him initially.

You'd just think this would have all been ironed out before the official approach was made.

How can he discuss stability when they are in the bottom four? They can't even guarantee him Chanpionship football. They can only offer him assurances on hypothetical positions.

If they could discuss salaries a week ago they could also discuss strategy. I guarantee its now about his pound of flesh and personal terms.

Derby have been a mess for years. We are far more stable than them. Hes gone for a pay increase. It happens. No point overengineering it all. He's enjoyed a successful year or two. He's going to maximise and capitalise.

You hope Eustace comes back? I hope Tronstad comes back.

I hope Eustace takes Derby down. As fast as possible. He's done at the Rovers. The players won't forgive him or fall for his togetherness bullshit all over again.

Doesn’t make any sense. That means the reciprocal must also apply: Clubs can never sack managers.

Eustace has been harping on all season about how he wants to create a togetherness between the fans and the club whilst at the same time has been applying for every job under the sun.

We all know Venkys are shite to work for and any decent manager would do their background checks before taking on the role. To have us sat in the play offs and then to walk out on the club is a dick move in my eyes.

As a slight aside, I heard Clinton Morrison on the radio last night say, "but when a club like Derby County come along, it's hard to say no."

I mean, wtf??? I'm old enough to remember the playoffs when it was us v Derby, and also Jack Walker v Lionel Pickering. Who, I hear many say? Exactly. He was their version of Jack at the time, but Jack swotted him away & he was barely heard of outside of Derby again.

Now they're poaching our manager. That's what Venky's have reduced us to & I will never, ever forgive or forget how they've trashed Jack's legacy.

Clinton Morrison struggles to string a sentence together, I wouldn’t worry about what he has to say

Do you think Venkys backed him in the transfer window ?

Same question applies to JDT and Mowbray .

If they’d made it impossible we’d be 24th, not 6th. They certainly made it more difficult. My issue isn’t with him leaving, it’s with him spouting meaningless bollocks for a year.

That meaningless  bollocks has helped us to 6th!

Alot of talks about getting new contracts..the only ones in the squad would be Brittain, Travis and Tronstad...the others I'm not sure..there's alot of deadwood and loans in the squad except of the signings made this season...

Absolutely not. Venkys have shafted almost every manager that has been under their tenure.

That's what I mean though, surely anyone with half a brain cell knows what goes on at Blackburn Rovers by now, did he expect to be given a warchest? More fool him if so.

How does he get on the radio? He is just an inarticulate, babbling fool ( who used to be a player)

But he gets airtime, and some folk will believe what he says. It all adds to the skewed narrative that Venkys aren't the problem.

Lampard has found his level i think. Why i'd take Gerrard personally. Not Rooney though.

Gerrard is a tricky one. Record breaking season at Rangers, a whole season without a loss.

Went to Villa and results were nothing to write home about, sacked after a 12 game winless run.

Then did the worst thing possible and followed the money and went to Saudi, a footballing graveyard. Again didn't tear up any trees but difficult to judge because it's the Saudi league.

As a player, I always liked him, so perhaps there's just a soft spot there but maybe, just maybe he'd find his feet in the Championship. He's 300 games in as a manager but his next move is a big one, as it will either make or break him.

We're an absolute clusterfuck of a club, so probably not the one he'll find any success at.

Wow, I didn't realise how close to events you must be! Or did you just make all that up?

I think he had been looking to move before the window-this last window anyway. My guess is that something went on in the summer.

I am certain and I also think he aimed both barrels at Suhail yesteday !
