Rob Dorsett is saying that negotiations are ongoing regarding Gardiner and Downing and its unclear if they will be with Rovers tonight

As when Eustace was appointed, I suspect that Waggot is hoping that a replacement is in situ before Saturday to quell any discontent in the stands.

A negative result tonight, no sign of a replacement manager, and a tough game against a cockahoop Plymouth (who needs the FA Cup eh?) could make Saturday interesting.

Only at Blackburn Rovers, could two important staff members be in our dug out, whilst their Derby County contract is prepared for signature ! I don’t see it, even at our dysfunctional club.

Plymouth at home to Millwall tonight, which will make for a very interesting watch. Before the FA cup heroics at the weekend they seemed to have picked up a couple of decent results, beating WBA at home and drawing away at Sunderland.

It could get seriously toxic on Saturday.

No they haven't, its a bloody miracle we are where we are and its down to Eustace to a great extent. Eerybody's tip for relegation, including mine!. He made us hard to beat (till we lost so many players and the lack of depth of the squad was laid bare)

Genuinely, if I was (I assume?) a multi-millionaire, at a young managerial age, where I needed to choose carefully to build my career, yeah I probably would have run a mile from Rovers.

I'd be surprised if there was much if any toxicity at Ewood. Eustace to Derby was well known before the Wolves match and there wasn't a murmur of discontent during the entire game. Seeing as Eustace was still in the dugout at the time that would have been the perfect opportunity to let the higher ups know how the fanbase felt, if the general desire was to keep Eustace. 

Most will likely refrain from creating a bad atmosphere at the ground because we're 6th, need to get behind the lads, 15 game push, etc. Groundhog day since 2010 for various reasons, whether it's playoff aspirations or fighting relegation. 

The only way I see things getting toxic nowadays is if we're marooned to the bottom of the table with no hope. Otherwise there's always a reason not to protest, regardless of the embarrassments continually heaped upon the club and the fans by those at the helm.

All part of the plan. Waste another two games, against a top 6 'rival' and bottom of the league at home and then by the time we get around to appointing a new manager he's got little chance of getting us into the top 6.

Not our fault because Derby took a few days to sort the Eustace deal out and that's out of our control.

Whenever I wanted to change jobs I made sure I had another one lined up before I handed in my notice. That meant asking around and even going for interviews while still in the job.

Did I feel unloyal in any way? No, why should I. I knew for certain that if my present company decided they didn’t need me any more they would have made me redundant.

Same with Eustace. If Rovers had decided he wasn’t up to it, they would have sacked him. It’s the real world. The thing for any company including Rovers, if you want to keep someone then do your best to keep them happy.

We have downright awful owners and some folk are discussing the manager not behaving as they personally wanted him to.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment - we can't be calling a Saturday home match against bottom of the league who have to travel 6 hours as 'tough'.

They haven't won a match away from home all season. By default it is our easiest match of the year. (which means a defeat would make it even more interesting with the crowd!)

Being the manager of a top football club isn’t quite like me working in the toolroom at a local engineering company. Greater rewards carry greater responsibilities. I liked Eustace more or less from the off, in the early days I was in a minority on here. I thought he was a perfect match for us at the time. Having said that I don’t think he’s covered himself in glory in the way he’s moved on to Derby. 
I can see why people behind the scenes aren’t too bent out of shape at the news. If it wasn’t Derby it would have been another club. We couldn’t go on not knowing how long the manager would be staying. 

I know he’s not the problem , we all know where the problems lie.

Let’s see how many season tickets are sold in the summer if we drift downwards…that’s the one objective measure of dissatisfaction.
