MB Rover
Clubs in 22nd place don’t come knocking for a manager of a 6th placed side without some serious encouragement to do so. The writing was on the wall all through January (3 people on here I argued with who were adamant Adam Forshaw was a ‘Eustace signing’ 🤣🤣🤣) Add the Sigurdsson situation on top of it as well 12 players out of contract/returning to clubs in summer, it may well be an ‘anywhere will do’ type scenario for Eustace. He’ll go and keep Derby up, and then another rebuild there and his stock will still be high if a real big team fancy him. I full expect this deal to be done, and from the whispers/sounds I’ve heard today, so do the dressing room.

Billionaire owners good grief !! A full page ad in a national paper from the fans advising any professional manager worth their salt to avoid applying for the job whilst the club retains its current ownership - for the many varied reasons we all know about, but that rarely get spoken about outside of Blackburn, would be quite a statement and might get people talking
islander200
Whatever poor bastard they convince to come in next best have the sense to include a break clause in his contract to depart in the summer if certain promises ain't bet Only reason for him to want to leave here is being misled and promised certain things that haven't materialised. Plus with only 18 months on his deal and with the job he has done increased and better terms were warranted.Very doubtful the club even spoke about more money with him I'm staying off Facebook till the dust settles on this some will think this a good thing and it was his negative style as to why we are poor in the final third, others will rant that he is a Judas and wish him the worst , others will be bewildered he is unhappy after the window bringing in experience and a name in Dennis Hope to god it ain't Russel Martin but he will probably have to high opinion of himself to come here Need a more pragmatic manager someone similar to Eustace .Even when we get his compensation we know for a fact our new head coach will be unemployed

Who had heard the brand 'Venky's' before they bought Rovers? Literally nobody outside of India. Now, they're a household name, certainly in the UK (albeit for all the wrong reasons, but 'any publicity is good publicity' and all that). This kind of works but hold onto us for 15 years for marketing? Not a chance. They were in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons a long time ago but it's been dead and buried for years now. Most people's first question to me when they find out I'm a Rovers fan is "You're not still owned by Venkys are you?" "Yep" "Fucking hell, thought they left years ago?" "Nope" No one, outside of Rovers fans, Dingles and PNE fans actually give a flying fuck about us or Venkys being a thing anymore. What use is getting their brand known over here? What can you even buy from them as an average Joe?

Yet, they still own us why?

Gamst
I said this when JDT went, but the only positive that can come from this is that it should expedite the owners departure from the club. They lucked out on JE and we’ve had a stay of execution for a season, but what on earth is the plan for next year with a depleted squad and an unwillingness to offer any longer contracts? In any sane universe this would be an indication that the owners are planning an exit, but with this lot you never know. I still can’t see past bitterness and revenge as being the underlying reason they don’t sell up. They were offended by the protests of a few years ago and took the hump. Now they enjoy watching us suffer by essentially holding the club captive in its current listless state.

English football will struggle until we curb foreign ownership and the role of agents in the game. THhe FA isn't fit for purpose.
joey_big_nose
It would be really something and make a big news impact if a club thats 22nd gets a manager from a club thats 6th... That cannot have happened many times before. Enough to make someone in Pune notice? Also if Eustace leaves under similar circumstances to JDT its not going to help new manager recruitment... That said if this all moves us closer to Venkys selling the club I am all for it.

The only way I can see Eustace going for it is if he has assessed that Rovers have been cut completely adrift by the owners. But... we just paid over a million for Kargbo and 20k a week for Dennis. So while the overall engagement of the owners is non existent the lights seem to be on. It would really be a massive statement to take a job at the other end of the table.

Last season when the Waggott/ Venky out chants started I heard plenty of people in the ground question it "why are they doing that again?" .... If Eustace leaves the answer would be there for everyone to see. There would be no recovering from it IMO. IF it happens, next season shouldn't be about "staying in the league" as this season was....... (due to bad ownership).... it has to be about removing the owners and the board and for multiple seasons. It will happen, they can't hide forever.

There should’ve been no recovery from the Kean days, from the years of neglect since, I can’t see any way that Eustace going would move the needle. It’s only a year since there was unrest over the way JDT had been handled and Waggott and co rolled out a meeting with some fans to stem the tide. People would be angry for a little while then we’d appoint a journeyman and it would revert to ‘need to get behind them now only x points from play offs’
Ghost7
Personally I think this would be the tipping point if it happened but for what it's worth, I don't think he'll join Derby. He will go in the summer and the reasons he wants out now will all be forgotten about.
Rover_in_the_South
Remember how we used to fear seeing a manager leave at the slightest rumour? I was gutted for instance when Sparky left for City, not his time. If Eustace walks we all know exactly why and like JDT, for his sake I hope he gets out ASAP. But I will say this, that's me done too.

Nothing will happen because there's too many happy clappers, too many thick cunts and too many cowards. The bulk of fans who actually cared gave up going years ago because they got sick of the club taking the piss out of them. Now all's that's left is a gutless minority.
