Fair enough. But the situation at the club now is worse than before. And I doubt plenty of decent managers will be lining up to be part of the circus.

They might. But I'm not sure those desperate to get any job will often be decent. Look at those who might be in that position right now. I'd genuinely like a couple of decent realistic names to hold onto for if, as seems likely, we have no manager tomorrow.

I would be somewhat stunned if he went to Derby.

As chaotic as our club is and as much as he may feel let down by our transfer business and false promises, he still has a chance - albeit a small one - of getting a club promoted. At Derby he has a chance - a fairly significant one - of being relegated.

It would be an insane career decision.

Getting promoted to the Premier League would be rocket fuel for his career. A guarantee of being linked with every top 6 Championship job in the future and the possibility of establishing himself as a Premier League manager.

Relegation with Derby would be a major setback to his career and he would at best be hoping for a midtable Championship job to bounce back.

Now, things might change if Derby take a bit of time to make their decision and we lose 2/3 more on the bounce and he feels like the playoffs are gone.

In his BBC interview, JE had multiple opportunities to answer on behalf of the club and on every occasion he puts distance between him and the club.

No way should any CEO allow such. a situation to occur (AGAIN).

Sign me up now. Been immensely impressed by how he speaks about football and his club. Obviously hard to judge the quality of the results and how success in Ireland translates elsewhere, but nothing but positives about him so far.

on the WBA link, that is pocket change for them tbh and I would suggest West Brom who were close to appointing Billy McKinlay Everton set to appoint 55-year-old in new West Brom manager contention, before he joined Moyes at Everton. They were never serious about appointing Eustace. 

If he goes. Who do you direct your anger at? The club for being enough of a mess for him to to go or Eustace himself for leaving.

I’d thank Eustace for his work here, but would absolutely hope he and Derby didn’t earn another point this season. Can’t blame him for leaving, but as fans to leave us whilst in a playoff ‘race’ (we won’t finish 6th), it’s pretty shit.

All true under normal circumstances. Blackburn Rovers, since the day they darkened our door, are simply not normal.

I get that.

Genune anecdote, though: I currently work for a "high/over performing" organisation. My career might continue to flourish just by being part of it. But my senior officers don't particularly respect or appreciate my views, nor my requests for the resource my team needs to continue to grow and meet the challenges on the horizon. I feel down about this and frustrated. I am intending applying for a similar job at an organisation considered to be "underperforming" but which is keen to improve and to invest in what will enable that. If offered, I will probably move on, quite happily.

The question, in both scenarios, is what is the genuine degree of ambition at the alternative employer and will the employee feel happier going into work each day.

But what is certain is that my current organisation is a wonderful place compared to what it must be like working for Venkys, Waggot, Pasha and Gestede.

There are more important things than league position or your organisation's current "level" when deciding on a such a big life change.

I wouldn't blame Eustace in the slightest.

Good luck to the guy, I say He deserves better than having to deal with the idiots who suposedly run our club.

Thank goodness that we have as many points as we do, so we shouldn't get a repeat of the last end-of-season shenanigans.

When you consider the abject state of our squad, he's worked a miracle.

It’s not pretty shit. It’s an indictment for just how terrible our owners and CEO are.
