RevidgeBlue
So as at today, how many senior players will we still have under contract beyond the end of the 2025/26 season? Question for Mark Brfc I guess who's our resident expert on the players' contracts.

He can fuck off, lad thinks he’s a world beater and needs to realise he’s lucky to play for Blackburn Rovers. I think some of the some accounts are set up to auto like posts including certain key words, so might be that...

No. When Eustace arrived in February last year the Duncan McGuire transfer from Orlando Pirates had just fallen through - it was a £1m loan fee and a mandatory future fee of £3.5m in the summer. Allegedly Eustace was promised this £4.5m was sat in the bank to spend if he kept us up. Obviously it wasn't.

Torgeir
Rob Edwards!? Big no thank you. I'd rather take Dyche.
Torgeir
Just now, Exiled_Rover said: Don't need a Chief Football Scout if you don't sign any players. Certainly not. The point I was making is that Nicko reported we had a name in place and then it's been silent, so I don't trust we have much of a plan if/when Eustace leaves. We've gone from player trading model to manager trading model...nice.
Popular Post Bronzed A Donis
So it looks like the 2nd Manager to leave in just over 12 months after being completely left hung out to dry on empty promises and a deliberate policy of dumbing down the club. Where would we be without Venkys eh and their ensemble of parasitic leeches doing their bidding. Their is no masking this.

davulsukur
Is Rob Edwards that good? Got Luton promoted against all the odds but he was sacked by Watford after just 11 games and had an absolute mare when Luton came back down. Was his promotion just a Coyle-esq fluke?

He took over a club with a lot of positive momentum from Graham Jones' excellent job. Then hasn't been able to turn things around at all after their relegation. Looked totally deflated and not up for a fight, so not a good match for us I believe.

Seems that way on the face of it. Luton were riding the crest of a wave when he came in, and by all accounts didn't seem to change an awful lot than Nathan Jones had left behind.

It would be abit of a meh appointment but honestly can't see us going for anyone else really. Edward's doesn't strike me as someone who likes confrontation so Maggot will be all over him. Or I can see Carsley coming. Edited February 9 by BankEnd Rover

roverandout
Carsley would be an excellent appointment. He's transformed the England under 21s but there's no way he'd give that gig up

I said earlier in the thread - Big Sam, along with Warnock or Dyche would be the best case scenario for us. Not sure Warnock fancies it anymore and Dyche would command wages we'd likely not pay. So Big Sam would be my choice. Listen to the opinion of any player who's worked with him; they love him and would walk through fire for him. Also massively underrated as a tactician, gets the best out of his players and has them playing as a team.

They will be rubbing their hands together at the thought of compensation payments for a manager they got for nothing. The model!

Mercer
Simply cut to the chase and, IMO, it's clear our club is one huge pile of steaming horse manure. Eustace is gone. Made it clear what he wanted before the Jan. Window opened and just look what the feck he got. Our next manager/coach will be a desperado - doubt anyone with quality and an ounce of nous will touch us now. Think the degree to which we have been fecked as a club has been ratcheting up steadily and the abyss we have been staring into for years will soon be upon us.
Roversider
Let's face it if Eustace goes a big pull would be a former club and the ability to be close to his family, that's before any of the grief he might have had here from the owners. The reality is Derby has been a basket case too so it's a risk for him to go there if it's only to enjoy a better set of owners. If we do lose him (I hope we don't) then at least we have a team at the top end of the table for a change as opposed to him being sacked because we were in a catastrophic situation. This isn't new, for us oldies I remember the same with Ken Furphy going to Sheffield, Gordon Lee to Newcastle, Jim Smith to Birmingham, Howard Kendall to Everton - the only consistent thing about a football club are the fans, even strips and grounds can change. Managers come and go, can't blame them, it's a fraught profession. The good news is that there are always applicants, what's Steve Kean doing nowadays? That last bit is only in jest, hopefully he is suffering from an itchy skin condition around his genitalia.
