What a disgrace of a statement. The Club agreed to the get out clause going in whether it was their idea or Eustace's. You cant then cry about it if someone decides to activate it. You then do whatever's necessary to persuade him to stay.

Players are professionals but they aren't robots and they talk to each other and with all their other connections across the game. They must be pulling their hair out and getting all sorts of messages and calls from outside the club. It's a huge distraction before a big game on Weds and must inevitably have many of them questioning what they're doing here It doesn't seem like contract extensions are high on the agenda (or even on the agenda right now), but who'd want to sign to stay on with this absolute circus anyway? Players like Tronstad, Travis and Hyam will easily get deals at other Championship clubs.
Popular Post Inferi
The club statement is a disgrace. So unprofessional. Wording it like Eustace is the villain and just throwing him under the bus. Disgusting.
simongarnerisgod
"significant investment🤣" is that a cryptic dig at eustace or an outrageous sign of their own conceited view of the recent transfer window, whatever it is,it`s further confirmation they are unfit to run a football club
Gamst21
That statement absolutely stinks. Hanging Eustace out to dry after wanting a new contract and promises of investment to push us up the table. I cannot believe the words significant investment have been used in that statement, as if they feel they’ve spent 10 mil on a new striker! We’ve signed 5 players on either short term contracts or loans and one permanent whose deal only runs for 2.5 years! I’m absolutely fuming and if the protests are back, let me know where and when.
Popular Post Bethnal
Statement is pathetic. What’s even moreso is the childish briefing to Alan Nixon. I used to enjoy Nixon as a curiosity/shit stirrer (no shade, that’s his job). Who didn’t get a little rush for an “11 o’clocker” back in the day? Nixon’s an enabler of the club’s decline, in many ways. Ever-willing mouthpiece of those in charge. I don’t buy anything the club is selling - via official channels or the tabloids. When it’s always other peoples’ fault, it’s usually the one saying that. In that case, it’s the club, but specifically Suhail Pasha. He is patient zero. He’s very likely the source of that statement. He needs to be ousted.

That Roverend is a piece of work. Popular Post lraC
I think I need to go and make a significant investment down the pub and sink a couple of pints after this. A Wigan supporting friend of mine laughed when I told him we'd got Sanderson from Brum ON LOAN. A Signing from the league below, on loan...if that doesn't scream non-investment, I don't know what does. Trying to be fair, I don't think you can use one transfer to make the point, not when we signed 6. However, I certainly don't agree it significant investment. If so, I'd love to know how the club describes £35m in transfer sales over 8 months.

Looking at facebook people are lapping up the club statement, protests won't do anything. Time has permeated into the fanbase and this is our "natural level" for most. I said previously that he wouldn’t be here for the start of next season, I’m just surprised his departure came this soon. It seems likely that whatever relationship he had with the chicken chokers broke down in the close season and his agent has been touting him around even since then. Both sides are just posturing now. I think he was going to Derby come what may. The meeting today was just an PR exercise, he was asking for assurances he knew they wouldn’t/couldn’t give him. Nic81
Disgraceful statement. As a club, we should act with more class, but it’s difficult when those running the show are classless. ‘Significant investment’ - it’s just laughable. When will the media pay attention to what is going on I am gutted. I had hoped that JE would have stayed until the end of the season, especially the way he has talked about togetherness and connecting the fans and players. Going on about a Blackburn family. I really thought that meant he knew what the owners were like but would try for the fans and the players, at least until this season was done. The players will be fuming; will that turn Wednesday into a terrible performance as a protest or light a fire in their bellies. Who knows, but I just pray it’s the latter I would love it if we somehow managed to get into the playoffs and got promotion. Would that increase our chances of getting rid of these absolute scumbags? Probably not but I can dream! Edited February 10 by Nic81

Backroom Popular Post Tom Posted February 10 Backroom Popular Post Share Posted February 10 Sorry in advance for the crudeness but simply….. Fuck Venkys Fuck Waggott Fuck Pasha Fuck whoever signed off on that shambolic ‘statement’ Fuck them all Literally this couldn’t have been any worse, it looked like there was little we could do but then we had a chance to keep him but refused to do that and instead doubled down on the idiocy Criminal neglect
Rover down South
We’ve been an absolute joke of a club for years now, but I’m a little apprehensive on how we look to the outside footballing world now. On a positive note, this could highlight the shocking way the club is run and put Waggott and Venkys under proper scrutiny and finally force them to piss off. Negatively though, with so many players here on loan and contracts running down, I dread to think what our squad will look like next season. Attracting players here is hard enough with no budget, but today is just another example of the Blackburn shitshow. Brittain & Travis surely the next ones out to keep the lights on. Southside Rover
Trying to look from a different perspective here and it's difficult but... Maybe what Eustace asked for is not realistic in the current climate. All back on Venkys as it always is but if the club can't commit to his requests then there really was no choice if his head had been turned. Another aspect for me...no club can invest now so why not see it out. If we inevitably drop away he's still over achieved and stock is still high. Next season there will be opportunities to return to the midlands. If he did achieve the impossible of which so far he's managed, then his stock would be even higher, maybe even with a promotion to his CV. I get he's pissed, as we all are but I still think the timing is a little odd. Of course on the inside of it all, if he has been misled, lied to etc. then no one wants to work for people like that. Club isn't interested in promotion. The desire for investment despite the opportunity before us will be knocked back because we are overachieving. It was never in the script. Why is Rudy and Swag not coming out all season praising the work of a manager and players defying the odds? In summary, Eustace wanted backing, Swag couldn't/wouldn't and he'll be gone before the day is out. Don't want it but as my Google feed has picked up a story on Wayne Rooney at the top of the page, I'm fearing it is more than a coincidence... Watch this space...
neophox
We could all tell the shit show when you ship out Sigurdsson as nr 26 in the squad....not sure that was on Eustace.... they wanted to trim the bill on Sigurdsson getting a move when fit in February... a fit Siggy would help us reach the play offs.
