nbdrovers
https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/blackburn-rovers-civil-war-john-eustace-exit-3530745 thought this was dead good and represented us well. we all know most of it, i know, but it's so nice to see it actually written in a decent national paper

Backroom Popular Post Tom Posted February 12 Backroom Popular Post Share Posted February 12 I’d rather we stay grounded - it’s a Eustace team that’s got the win with the work he’s put in, he’s the best bet we had I think. Plus we all know the reason he’s going isn’t the team he’s got it’s knowing he is doing an impossible job longer term.
Popular Post Andy
You'd imagine that he watched Derby struggle to muster a single goal at home in a big relegation 6-pointer last night, then saw our result tonight. And had that feeling in your gut when you know you've fucked up a big decision.
Ricky
I’m putting it out there now that I’m not convinced he’ll keep them up. Plymouth have hit form and are now only one point behind them. Luton now rock bottom put only two points off Derby with a better squad. Someone else will probably get sucked into the fight like we did (after being 6 points clear of it when he took over).
had.e.nuff
do we still have to pay him while he makes his mind up?
RevidgeBlue
46 minutes ago, had.e.nuff said: do we still have to pay him while he makes his mind up? Of course. We allowed him to have a clause in his contract permitting him to speak to any Club who agreed to pay the release fee. That's all he's done so far (I think). Obviously that situation could change more or less as we speak.

All managers talk management tripe in most professional fields - motivational drivel and business speak from MacDonalds to Goldman Sachs. Waggott and Caley have to cope with full stadiums etc. Waggott/Pasha's positions would come under scrutiny if we performed poorly and got relegated again. In general would be well out of their comfort zones just chugging along in mid table in the Championship. Same applied to Mowbray when he was here. Its senseless rubbish. If they got promoted Waggott would get and Mowbray would have got significant financial rewards. And even if they had come back down, they would have gained so much kudos for doing so. Your dislike of both causes you to come to illogical conclusions.

I'm just even more relieved I didn't bother taking time off work to travel tonight. The thought of him 'leading' the team with Mowbray in the opposite dugout smirking away is horrific. hmmm
roversfan99
If we are in any way behind the delay for Eustace to join Derby, we need to stop being so petty as it then delays us getting someone in. 1

Im really surprised it hasnt been confirmed by now. That Derby journo said it was all agreed, contracts being signed last night and unveiled later today so let's see. In a way it would serve Venky's right if he said he'd changed his mind and was coming back but that might not now be the best thing for the team after what happened at the Hawthorns. Popular Post Groundhog
The delay is due to the rumour that Derby have now asked for permission to speak to David Lowe...

Why? We can do all the legwork, interviews etc assuming they're doing them regardless. Wait till we've got our man and then click submit. Fuck Derby County, we owe them nothing and shouldn't bend over to accommodate them. Can't see Derby winning any of their next 5 aside from maybe Milwall at home, we'll have to see how we're shaping up by the time we play them I suppose too.

Exactly right, makes me laugh how many folk are actually sore that a manager doesn’t actually believe the cliches he comes out with, but is just trying to advance his career). I haven’t listened to an interview from one probably since Mark Hughes*, it’s all leadership course banalities mixed in with media training (*I made an exception for JDT, as, well, that charisma, calling out whoever he pleased when he pleased and the perma-smirk just did it for me 🤩)
Trinidad Rover
Be miffed if that sensational win is credited to his stats. Just needs to go now and let everyone at Rovers move on. Zero interest in him anymore (but I would like Derby to go down..). Onwards!
