On the flipside, we could end up finishing 10th, and Derby could end up finishing 20th.

Both on a level playing field in the summer, and I think I know who will back there manager more out of us and them.

Still an idiot to go now regardless of the clubs fortunes next year.

But as I said in another thread, what we think of Eustace is irrelevant anyway. What is relevant is that we're stuck with the absolute scumbags creating an atmosphere so vile that two decent consecutive managers have left.

Lots of players congratulating Eustace on Instagram and thankful for his help. That’s not normal when a manager asks to leave.

They clearly understand as we do: Waggott and Suhail are idiots.

So many contracts ending in the next year or so too. It's going to be awful

The way Dolan and Trav have spoken about him speaks to him being almost like a father figure to them and they're clearly distraught he has gone and feel some loyalty to him. Chances are, they have a much better idea of what has gone on than we do.

I wonder what they think about the way the club is being run...

Get the feeling a lot of players are pissed off with his exit, of course they are going to crack on for the rest of the season, but behind the scenes looks awful and the players have just learnt first hand. I think there will be a lot who want out come the summer.

The best of us know it wasn't for trying. He was a man that knew what he wanted and wasn't going to be messed about. Can only applaude him for that. Clearly meant alot to the lads

Not a huge difference in their L5-10-15 matches really, a lot of this is just variance, and christ JDT had a bench of Garrett, Telalovic, Markanday, Leonard, Weston, Hilton and Gamble for most of those matches. We had Ennis starting in some of them!

Also worth noting, Eustace only picked up 6 points in his first 10 games. Everyone says 'we 100% would have got relegated under JDT', this early period under Eustace was just as bad.

I've been saying this for some time - JE's record last season was horrible and almost took us down.
We had been in the top 6 and in the top half for the majority of that season and, whilst we were on a dire run of form, we were never in a relegation battle prior..

JE failed to win a single home game despite us playing most of the teams below us at Ewood and, owing to some Sammie Szmodics heroics, we pulled out a couple of shock away wins at Leeds and Leicester to just about stay up.

But we very, very nearly went down and his negative approach/performance would have been a big part of that.

This season has been an overall big success and he takes credit for that.
But last season was pretty horrific - and if I was a Derby fan, I'd be very worried.

I think its built in to want to  see the other team where the manager is going, fail.

I dont want them to win. I dont want any other team to win apart from my own. Gave us some good games to be excited about this season and created a solid back line for us.

We move on

Alot of us called him Eusless...I'm really not bothered more..hes a jump shipper when it's possible and don't give a shit how it goes for us. We move on even if it is with looney toons.

Such a weird feeling. I am quite grateful for everything he has done for the club. Before the start of the season, I actually told my father that Rovers are goin down this year which says it all really. I also understand 100% why he is disappointed and i am quite aware where the real problem lies YET I really hope he fails and has Derby relegated..

It took Eustace 10 or 11 games to get his first win here, if he does the same at Derby they’re basically down. His problems there are very different to when he arrived here, they can’t score goals, they don’t actually concede TOO many. We were scoring goals thanks to Sammy mainly but shipping way too many goals against us too. He tightened things up but goals also become more scarce too.

Derby have a bloody tough run coming up, their more favourable games coming towards the end of the season. I honestly think they’ll be a league 1 team next season.

He will most likely get the chance to gain promotion back to League One and then another crack at the Championship. Not too much risk in it for him, he must've thought he came to the end of the road with Rovers and it was mostly downhill from here. We have hardly picked up points in 2025 so maybe it was better with a change.

He probably will unless it’s a complete disaster. The larger crowds he’s on about also bring added pressure too, Ewoods a very forgiving place to be fair, I dare say sections of the Pride Park crowd won’t be if things don’t go to plan.

Eustace has got his longer contract and significant pay rise.

Now he is referencing Derby's togetherness, synergy and longer term vision as a key reason for joining.

Mmmm. Does he think we are stupid? What a load of absolute horseshit. Derby's vision? They've not won in ten and just lost seven on the bounce. They are in freefall.

So what vision would that be exactly? A visit to Blackpool next season? Cambridge, Crawley, Exeter and Lincoln? A true visionary indeed.

How about you honour the contract you signed here you plank instead of exploring League One possibilities? Six new lads relying on you and eighteen others who have shown you total committment and loyalty all year. Relying on you John. You know like a family. A fan base that embraced you and supported you even when you nearly took us down.

The owners not send you an Xmas card? Didn't invite you to their Palace? Boo hoo. Still paid your wages though and all those around and beneath you.

Here's my vision. I hope Eustaces problems start at QPR, Derby's pathetic run continues, they still struggle for goals and he's managing in League One next season. With a relegation on his record.

Then starts very slowly and is sacked by Xmas. Just in time to spend lots of time with his family. Togetherness and all.that.

And look at the lift him leaving gave the players last night. All of tthem. Fucking.hell, we can attack! And score! And win away! And our striker can now shoot!

Now that's a vision we can all enjoy.

In the last 15 years Derby have been 13 years in the Championship and 2 years in League 1.

You'd think with the way he's speaking he'd joined Barcelona.

You have gone from questioning what Eustace’s reasons are for leaving, spiralled into a rant about his loyalty to the ‘family’ and then eulogised about his downfall

You started so well

I don’t believe he went for the ‘project’ of Derby. I think the main driver was the poor ownership of this club. The truth may lie somewhere in between - he was clearly unhappy and throwing his name around for new work - but it also just happens that Derby are close to home and have showed him they will match his ambition

He made it clear he didn’t work closely with the owners

The performance last night is because of Eustace, not because of his absence. The coaching of our players comes from him. The work ethic and desire from his coaching

Say what you want about the timing of his decision. His time as a manager here was a success and we are worse club for him leaving…

…until we get a new manager. There’s another Eustace out there. He isn’t unique. We now just have to hope they make another right decision and get another Eustace, as oppose to another Coyle. That really is the fine lines we are on here

It's very clear to me why he's gone. Nothing to do with our owners. Nothing to do with Derbys project or vision.

He does not give a fig about Derby and it's foolhardy to think otherwise.

Hes gone for one reason and one reason only.

Oh do give over. Whether or  not people agree with the timing of his jumping ship, you must be be literally the only person who thinks that.

Why are you bothered what he'll be earning at Derby?

Pride Park looked half empty in midweek so they don't fill the stadium every match. Poor team so no wonder.

Edit: I see they have 25k+ average so more than us.
