Not at all.

He'd been lied to repeatedly.

He'd not been given any long term assurance.

He'd made very specific requests for improvement to the squad, not too much to ask given we've brought in 40 million over the last 12 months. Said requests were met with nothing.

Even at the 11th hour he gave them a chance to show some ambition and long term planning and was told to get fucked.

I'm amazed he lasted as long as he did.

Eustace won't have as long as Derby as he did with us to start turning things around. He can't afford to wait until the last few games of the season to pick up some surprise wins - they'll be down by then - and there's no Sammie Szmodics in that Derby team to rescue points.

Pretty much the worst possible start for him. Transfer window closed as well so no chance of bringing in any reinforcements. Think he's going to realise very quickly the huge drop off in quality when it comes to our squad versus Derby's. We may be lacking in depth, but our first eleven are very solid for this division.

No guarantee of coming straight back up from L1 either. Some big clubs (including Derby themselves) have gotten stuck down there for some time. Can't afford to have the mentality of 'we'll take the hit and bounce back'.

I'd think he knew when he took the job that Derby would be difficult to save from relegation, which shows how low he ranked our club as a place of employment. His job will be to take Derby straight back up and take it from there.

At least he's at a club where the manager and admin will work together, not one where the  efforts of the players and coach are under-appreciated and sabotaged as a matter of routine.

Maybe he did actually prefer a Midlands Club? Quite sure he'd have ended up at West Brom had they been willing to pay the compo.
