Nothing but respect for Eustace, even with him moving on. He's repeatedly wanted things that can't be offered to him and a job has come up for him. Came in, did what was requested of him by the board in his first season and exceeded expectations in his second part season. Kept it professional, too, with less sniping than JDT and he also got a lot out of players who were expected to achieve much less.

 

Him leaving is due to the specifics of the way we are run rather than greed in his part and there was no sense that the board would be giving him what he needed to kick us on. Would rather him go to Derby than an immediate rival (although maybe they will be next season) and I wish him luck in keeping them up, except when we play him. Hope he gets a warm welcome from the Rovers fans and we beat Derby 5-0. Can see him getting backlash, though, unfortunately.

But as I said in another thread, what we think of Eustace is irrelevant anyway. What is relevant is that we're stuck with the absolute scumbags creating an atmosphere so vile that two decent consecutive managers have left.

Lots of players congratulating Eustace on Instagram and thankful for his help. That’s not normal when a manager asks to leave.

They clearly understand as we do: Waggott and Suhail are idiots.

The way Dolan and Trav have spoken about him speaks to him being almost like a father figure to them and they're clearly distraught he has gone and feel some loyalty to him. Chances are, they have a much better idea of what has gone on than we do. 

I wonder what they think about the way the club is being run...

Get the feeling a lot of players are pissed off with his exit, of course they are going to crack on for the rest of the season, but behind the scenes looks awful and the players have just learnt first hand. I think there will be a lot who want out come the summer.

Not a huge difference in their L5-10-15 matches really, a lot of this is just variance, and christ JDT had a bench of Garrett, Telalovic, Markanday, Leonard, Weston, Hilton and Gamble for most of those matches. We had Ennis starting in some of them!

Also worth noting, Eustace only picked up 6 points in his first 10 games. Everyone says 'we 100% would have got relegated under JDT', this early period under Eustace was just as bad. 

I've been saying this for some time - JE's record last season was horrible and almost took us down.
We had been in the top 6 and in the top half for the majority of that season and, whilst we were on a dire run of form, we were never in a relegation battle prior..

JE failed to win a single home game despite us playing most of the teams below us at Ewood and, owing to some Sammie Szmodics heroics, we pulled out a couple of shock away wins at Leeds and Leicester to just about stay up.

But we very, very nearly went down and his negative approach/performance would have been a big part of that.

This season has been an overall big success and he takes credit for that.
But last season was pretty horrific - and if I was a Derby fan, I'd be very worried.

I think its built in to want to  see the other team where the manager is going, fail.

I dont want them to win. I dont want any other team to win apart from my own. Gave us some good games to be excited about this season and created a solid back line for us.

Alot of us called him Eusless...I'm really not bothered more..hes a jump shipper when it's possible and don't give a shit how it goes for us. We move on even if it is with looney toons.

Such a weird feeling. I am quite grateful for everything he has done for the club. Before the start of the season, I actually told my father that Rovers are goin down this year which says it all really. I also understand 100% why he is disappointed and i am quite aware where the real problem lies YET I really hope he fails and has Derby relegated..

It took Eustace 10 or 11 games to get his first win here, if he does the same at Derby they’re basically down. His problems there are very different to when he arrived here, they can’t score goals, they don’t actually concede TOO many. We were scoring goals thanks to Sammy mainly but shipping way too many goals against us too. He tightened things up but goals also become more scarce too. 
 

Derby have a bloody tough run coming up, their more favourable games coming towards the end of the season. I honestly think they’ll be a league 1 team next season.

He will most likely get the chance to gain promotion back to League One and then another crack at the Championship. Not too much risk in it for him, he must've thought he came to the end of the road with Rovers and it was mostly downhill from here. We have hardly picked up points in 2025 so maybe it was better with a change.

He probably will unless it’s a complete disaster. The larger crowds he’s on about also bring added pressure too, Ewoods a very forgiving place to be fair, I dare say sections of the Pride Park crowd won’t be if things don’t go to plan.
